I hired Millennium Transport Corp. to enclose trailer my 1957 Thunderbird from Laughlin, Nevada to Flagstaff, Arizona. The trip was for the Thunderbird Concours. The car was to be picked up on a Wednesday and delivered on Thursday for the Friday morning show. Without going into detail, Millennium didn't come close to fulfilling their contract nor did they contact me to let me know they couldn't pick up the Bird. I was frantic. I called all around but nobody wanted to drive to Laughlin and back Thursday afternoon. Enter Murphy's and Mr. Matt Quinn. Matt left Ash Fork, Arizona at approximately 4:00 p.m. Thursday. He drove to Laughlin. He picked up the T'Bird then drove back to Flagstaff arriving at 12:20 Friday morning. He was as careful with the Baby Bird as I would have been. He's also a damn nice guy. Matt and Murphy's saved the day. The Bird took top honors. Matt picked up the Little Lady and returned her to the Laughlin museum on Saturday. Matt was continually in touch with us. Would I do business with Murphy and Matt again? You bet your butt. Would I recommend Murphy and Matt? You can bet your other butt cheek I would. The Little Lady says thank you and so do I. Don't get stuck in the mud out in Ash Fork. This tow company charged me $1,800 to tow me a quarter of a mile. The actual tow time was two and a half hours which I appreciated them being there to help me but they charged me six and a half hours of tow time and 6 and 1/2 hours of wench time had a ray of $300 an hour. Not a very honest company From The time he arrived to wench us out to the time I was able to drive the rest of the way was 2.5 hours. I was charged $1805. Two months ago my wife and I were coming back from Utah where we're had bought a tow behind travel trailer. My wife had broken her foot a couple hours before we got a flat tire on the trailer and we were stuck on the Jolly Road exit. We were 60 miles from home (Kingman Arizona) where she was going to go to the hospital to get it fixed. I searched the trailer for a spare and Jack to change it, I found the spare but no Jack. It was midnight and the phone reception was very weak and the only place we could call was this company. I explained my situation to the man who answered the phone and asked if they could change the tire for me and he replied " no problem, and because of the late hour there was a extra charge" he quoted me it would cost almost $600 for the service. I told him that I had not added the trailer to my AAA card since we were not home yet where I could get my policy and add it. He said the charge would be cash or credit card. He did not care about the situation we were in and said I could call other tow companies and try to get it cheaper but he has the best prices. I finally unhooked the trailer, drove my wife to the ER and was done there about 5 am. I took her home and grabbed a Jack drove back out there and spent 5 minutes changing the tire and took it to Kingman and had all four tires replaced for about the same amount he was going to charge to do a 5 minute job...... So all I can say is "shame on him and his company" . He brought a whole new meaning to gouging and totally showed no compassion what so ever. Never again ........... read more

If you are a trucker or have a motor home, this is the place for you. If you are a regular vehicle, get prepared to be screwed over. We got told they could help us with our blowout, they were very kind and helpful, but just not in it for keeping people safe. They had towed us to there shop, they said they had the tires, just not the rims, so they towed us out to discount tire and it was a whole thing. Essentially, the tire shop was more helpful than this place. We are thankful for the assistance, but we got screwed in the whole experience.The employees are all amazing, the business is just out for your money, not your safety. read more

People were rude to the point of argumentative, place was filthy and overpriced. I wouldn't recommend the place to my worst enemy.

We had a rollover accident nearby and my car was taken here prior to releasing it to the insurance company. As a towing and trucking company, I get that their job isn't to be like, nice or anything, but my husband and I were in shock just trying to salvage our things out of the car and regardless of our attempted positivity, we couldn't get a "hello" or a smile or really anything more than a grunt from the lady working behind the counter. I was pulling my trailer on my way to the Grand Canyon last week and discovered the trailer battery wasn't charging properly. I stopped at Murphy's in Ash Fork, AZ to have it checked out. Brent, the pleasant and knowledgeable mechanic ran some diagnostic tests on the battery and then explained to me what the problem was. Even though Brent spent a half hour with me, the kind owner Mr. Murphy did not charge me for his time. That was a nice surprise! read more

I was on my way east planning to get some preventative maintenance done in Albequerque. My '04 Volvo with an ISX500 started stuttering so I decided not to wait and started looking for shops nearby that could help me. Murphy's had good reviews and after talking to the owner I felt comfortable that he was familiar with the ISX. I ended up having a bad throttle position sensor and failing turbo. They replaced both as well as replaced my leaking power steering pump, rear brakes, several rusted bolts and heater hoses. They did a good job on all the work and the truck is running very well now. Getting parts in smaller town is a pain and did slow the job a bit. Overall I am very pleased with the work, Rick's knowledge, and the work that was done. I will be back for more preventative care in the spring when I come back through town. read more

Yvonne says that I agreed to the charge before they did the work so it was not an overcharge but the reason I am writing this review now is because the trailer is back in the shop and the mechanic said he would have charge me $650 ( the axle is only $250 with everything on it, it is only a 5 lug) I wish I would have known but instead here they charged me over $1600 for a job that I now know should have cost $650-800 at the most. If you get stuck here with any problems you are better off getting towed to Prescott or another large city that has HONEST mechanics and shops to choose from. I wish I would have seen this review prior to signing that paper on there desk but I didn't seen many other options. I am just pointing out it will be cheaper to tow your car as far away from this company as possible..... There is a reason they are stationed out in the middle of nowhere, they have certainly been run out of most larger towns.... they could not stay in business with other Honest and reputable shops to compete with. Wait for the owners wife response below it should be classic denial of any wrong doing or fault at all, not even a sorry for taking too long, nothing but excuses after excuses. Yvonne and her business capitalize on the misfortunes of others by over charging and lying to customers, even making up false claims in her response to my review. If she had any integrity or respect she would not respond at all or respond in kind but when she viciously attacks her customers because they have a problem with there service this tells you there is a much larger problem here. Yvonne.... did you ever learn that behind every complaint you receive there are 7 more that just never bothered to take the time? This makes it an opportunity to improve on your work and business ethic but you just don't seem to get it. Apparently Yvonne and the mechanics here at Murphys Towing are the best at what they do, will not learn anything in the future or bother to improve upon the way they conduct business. I am confident this is an attitude that will put you out of business sooner than later. Attention ashford mechanics there is a huge market for Honest, reliable, trustworthy mechanics in the area and there may be a shop for rent soon if these guys keep up the horrible work. read more

These people were not willing to help me when I got stranded in the middle of nowhere with a flat tire. I had a flat tire while driving a rental car on mile marker 51 of Indian Rd. 18. The intersection to this road is Route 66. There are no services or phone reception in this area. The rental car was not equipped with a spare tire (unbelievable!). Therefore, I got a ride from a car passing by to the nearest, and only, establishment, the Caverns. I still wasn't getting any reception. The people at the Cavern kindly let me in and allowed me use their landline for HOURS while I was trying to get AAA, Geico, and the rental car company (NU) help me. All those companies totally failed me and literally left me stranded out there. I tried a few shops somewhat close by, including Murphy's, and they said they can't help either! Bobby did an excellent job helping us out in our time of need. Being from out of town it was so nice to have a friendly face come to change our tire. We have horses with us and he was very cautious about not making any abrupt moves or noises so they would stay calm. He was also very conscientious about keeping our truck and trailer clean while he was working. Definitely would recommend. read more

I believe they need to update their website to clarify what they actually offer. We went in today because we are passing through towing our RV and having some issues with our diesel truck only to be told they really don't want to work on vehicles and just focus on towing. If the site would have stated that we would have avoided this shop altogether and just went to flagstaff. Definitely disappointed by our experience. Crooked people and also rude. We were standing outside we're told by the woman" what are y'all doing here " obviously knowing we were getting a tire , then never asked us to come sit inside knowing it would take him 40 min to do a simple tire change that literally should have taken 5 min . Then we're told " we don't sale used tires " while they are advertising new and used tires. Then told they stayed open for us , but they are open 24/7 , I was towed 5 min from their shop and got a new tire . He put a new tire on while I told him I would like a cheap used one to get back to Vegas. 400$ for a tire and a 5min tow . Blown tire and fluid leaking from the back of my van with 3 kids and dog. AAA let me sit on the side of I-40 for an hour before telling me that instead of an hour it was going to be 2.5 hours at least. Thankfully I was able to find a great mechanic and towing company by sheer luck. Ricky, the owner, sent Kevin right away to pick our 15 passenger van on the back of his flatbed. Loaded up the family in the cab and got us safely to Ash Fork, AZ. Only 1 Inn in the town that said they were full online and was not answering the phone. Kevin insisted we stop by and he got us a room for the night. By 8 am the next morning Kevin was working on the fix. Kept me up to date about the progress and finished the job quickly. My only issue is they charged 3.5% for credit or debit card. It's part of running a business, just build it into the bill. I appreciated all hard work and professionalism. read more

I cannot thank Ricky and Yvonne at Murphys Towing and Automotive enough. Our check engine light alerted at start of vacation hundreds of miles from home. Not only were they open on Saturday, but Ricky worked us in immediately, was methodical about searching for the problem, AND was concise with his explanation of the issue. He discussed our options with us and suggested a solution we were happy with. We were back on the road in a reasonable amount of time and the bill was what I could have expected from my trusted mechanic at home. I hate to be afraid that people will take advantage of me in a crisis and it was wonderful to know that I received the best care possible instead. Vince T - When our RV was towed into a well known Southern California RV Shop with an engine problem the service advisor there told us the leaf springs were cracked and needed replaced at a cost of $4,300.00. I decided to bring the RV back to Arizona and have the springs looked at here. We live in Prescott and Ash Fork is about an hour north of us. I found Murphy's simply by doing an internet search. They answered a lot of my questions and gave me a preliminary quote for the springs over the phone before I brought the RV there by using the VIN number. Once I had the RV at Murphy's they did a complete inspection of the undercarriage of the RV. Turns out the springs (and front suspension) were not in need of replacement. Simply a broken bracket. They welded the bracket and gave me a report on the current life of the brakes and exhaust system. The entire bill came to $355.00. I appreciated their ability to respond quickly and their honesty in not replaceing the springs as the dealer in Southern California was so ready to do.
