I've only been here twice to fill up on gas. The pumps aren't clean by any means; in fact, the one I was using had the 87 octane label ripped off from the button! Why would someone do that?! Nevertheless, the pump did get the job done for me, but I do want to caution that on both of my visits, the pump I was at was spilling out liquid right before I inserted into the fuel tank of my rental car. Clearly, it has seen better days, and speaking of better days, I also agree that the area doesn't look safe. Might I add the words "barren" and "dilapidated" to that list as well? Either way, I would only recommend for a quick in and out during the day time. There's a Valero just a couple blocks west of here, but kind of out of the way of the 10 since this station is literally right off the freeway. Look for the Laredo St exit as that's where the gas station is located. If you're traveling northbound on the 10, it's literally right there that there's no way you can miss it. If you're traveling southbound, make a left, cross the freeway underpass, and it will be to your left. For eats, there's a McDonalds next door to the Shell, and one more building over is a Mexican restaurant. Is the gas expensive here? No compared to California lol. But compared to other parts, I would say so. The first time I fueled up, it was $3.19 per gallon. The second time, it went up 8 cents per gallon. When I fueled up at Buc-ee's between those two visits, it was less than $3 per gallon. I didn't have an issue with paying by card both times, but oddly enough, after my second trip, my card started having issues on the ensuing transaction when I went to get dinner. I confirmed that the dinner was the culprit of my card declining, but was also told that my visit to this Shell could have triggered something that caused my card to decline the remainder of my trip. I would have given 3 stars, but because of this mess, as well as Fernanda mentioning issues with credit cards at this location, I'm choosing to drop one additional star here. If I make a return visit to San Antonio, I'm going to avoid this Shell. I'd recommend going to the nearby Valero instead. Or maybe I should go all the way to New Braunfels just to visit Buc-ee's again lol.

What a crazy, unexpected concept! They have everything here. It was definitely sensory overload for me. It was crowded with locals & tourists. It's very organized and clean. The restroom was impressively clean. We mostly bought snacks. Love the warm candied nuts like pecans. We left without exploring the entire store due to the crowded conditions. We were checked out quickly by a friendly cashier. Definitely will return.

As much as I love Buc-ee's, I had a really disappointing experience today…read more I usually buy bakery items, snacks, and fuel, but this time my child grabbed a chicken and fries basket with ranch and ketchup. Since I was already carrying several things, I set the ranch cups and ketchup packets on top of my closed purse while heading to checkout. At the register, I handed over the food basket, ranch cups, pastries, nuts, and everything else. We spent about $75 on snacks and another $60 on fuel. Then the cashier asked, "Ma'am, are you trying to steal ketchup?" I was completely caught off guard. I have never stolen anything in my life and honestly didn't even know ketchup packets were something that had to be paid for. When she asked how many I had, I told her 3 or 4, and I immediately paid for them. There was never any argument or hesitation. It was simply an honest mistake. What made the situation upsetting was how embarrassing it felt to be accused in front of other customers. Maybe there was a sign posted near the hot food section, but I didn't pick up the food myself and never saw it. I just wish there had been a little more understanding, especially considering we had already spent well over $100 in the store. A simple explanation that the sauces were an extra charge would have gone a lot further than making me feel like I was trying to steal. I still love Buc-ee's, but I left feeling embarrassed and disappointed.

But this one in downtown San Antonio was the worst. When we were in El Paso, we had to wait 10 seconds to get a new bottle of creamer and the guy was so apologetic. He has his two free coffee coupons for the delay so every morning of this trip we've been excited about going to QT and having breakfast and coffee. But san Antonio was a complete disappointment. We had to wait 10 minutes to get some of the finally bring out creamer and the gentleman next to me another customer said wow she didn't have to have such an attitude. So I said OK good it's not just me. The app didn't work and a ton of employees standing around texting when myself another customers were looking for help. Only reason I gave it two stars instead of one it's because it was an inner city gas station, which I'm sure gives them a lot of problems. Two of their four coffee machines were down and many of their pull handle coffees were empty with just water coming out. Of the machines that were working, we had to let the staff know that they were out of coffee. Only one gentleman who is running a register seemed to be really trying out of the whole staff.

This Valero gas station / Circle K store is the most convenient gas station in the downtown area…read more It is conveniently located just two blocks from The Pearl and near 281 highway. Even though this gas station is located just right outside downtown, it is just a couple minutes away from The Alamo. If you are visiting San Antonio and have a rental car, I would recommend filling out for gas at this location. Since is on your way to the airport, and most of the other gas stations around downtown and near the airport have higher prices. This Circle K has a good selection of snacks, beverages and other items. If you don't want to stop at a liquor store, they also have a wide selection of beers and other hard seltzers.

This store is shameful ! I've been a favor employee for 5 years now, and I do my job with pride…read more I've lived in San Antonio for 28 yrs, a few nights ago someone broke into my car and stole my ID, and I have a temporary paper ID. I had a favor order from this location, for a pack of cigarettes (I'm 28 mind you) and the manager who was also the assisting clerk, was just OUTRIGHT RUDE AF. He was humiliating me and mocking me, while I was showing him my temporary paper ID. He wasn't going to accept the paper, I showed him a picture of my ID so he can match it the the temporary and he just kept repeating himself about not accepting anything else, and he completely denied service to me. I stayed so calm, and repeated asking in a few different sentences, of trying to understand why he was refusing service to me even though I have a copy of what the Driving department advises me to use in a time of need. Save your self the stress from dealing or interacting with these idiots, and choose a different store if not location. This man clearly is just unhappy with himself and his life, and chooses to freely create chaos and havoc into other innocent individuals he's encountering throughout his day. This man has pure evil/mean intentions and doesn't deserve to be in a job, interacting with others with his type of energy period !‍
