This was the night before my appointment and Blackman Grove. It was just me at home, living in the middle of nowhere, with a dead car battery and no way to jump it. I called to get the appointment rescheduled, but was told it'd be $75 to do so. Fine. Thanks, daughter. I get it. 2. Finally get a new bridge (not sure if that was what the other appointment was for, but man, it was expensive, even with insurance.) However...a hygenist puts the bridge on and shapes it way too short. The dentist didn't even do anything. I was told she doesn't like doing those or fillings. I was also told that if I didn't like it, they could send it to a lab, but it'd cost MORE. Now, that side of my smile...the teeth are way shorter than the other side.‍ To my main point and complaint: found a new dentist where I'm located. They did X-rays and told me that all of my crowns from Blackman Grove are garbage. You can see them in the X-rays...they're not even cemented down well. I paid thousands...THOUSANDS...and now need to get them redone because my mouth aches. I loved this dentist...BEFORE they hired new people and completely redid the place (and started adding Botox to their services.)

Usually they are not open on Fridays, so I was lucky on both appointments. The first thing I noticed about was how friendly they were on the phone. When I arrived early in the morning, the three women behind the desk were already having a Jovial conversation about the possibility of a therapy animal in the office. They texted the paperwork to me. When I was done, I had my teeth examined and cleaned. It was a prompt and relaxed visit. I am going next week for a consultation for some cosmetic dentistry. It feels good to be around people who are happy where they work.

This review is based on Periodontics &…read moreImplant Dentistry of Middle Tennessee business practices and reflects the experience I had with them as I was in good faith attempting to resolve an open account balance for over 2 years. The patient was my Wife. I cannot review treatment, as full treatment was not completed due to questionable and inefficient business practices detailed below and we ended up finishing the treatment at a much more reputable Periodontist in Nashville. Prior to the first treatment and after reviewing the predetermination of benefits from the insurance company, I contacted the office and together we determined and agreed on what out of pocket costs would be for the treatment plan. I then immediately paid in full the out of pocket costs agreed upon. After the first phase of treatment in late 2019, the issues with the business office started. Claims were filed incomplete and / or with erroneous information. I would then conduct my own research and attempt to cobble together diverging stories between errors in the filing that insurance was telling me vs. what the business office was advising. During 2020-2022, I sent 11 separate emails to the office advising the issues I had learned through discussions with my insurance, requesting they resubmit the claim with very specific instructions. Most were sent in 2020 and went unanswered; the few that did respond still did not result in the correct action. After multiple communication attempts, I sent one last email in late 2020 to advise the office that I would not be spending any more time dealing with them due to their lack of response and action. I heard nothing back until nearly 2 years later and this time with a letter threatening to turnover my account to their Attorney due to unpaid fees. In talking to new person at the office in charge of settling aging account receivables, I learned the person I had been emailing had left the office in 2020 and apparently no arrangements were made to forward her emails or even monitor them. I then spent yet more time educating the new person about the history of the situation and forwarded her all the documentation proving my intent to resolve the situation amicably and efficiently. Sadly, she had no interest in hearing, investigating or responding to my particular situation. Also, forget about trying to call and get them to pick-up as routinely I would call and get voice mail in the middle of business hours. In the end, this was not an issue of money, but rather a matter of business principles and ethics. I had a clear financial agreement before any treatment was made and the business failed to see any wrongdoing on their part, despite everything in this review. Even worse, this business takes on the persona of a debt collector even when there is clear and compelling evidence to the contrary. For these reasons and for the many other similar reviews, please entrust your care and spend your hard earned dollars at a different provider who excels in both patient care and patient advocacy.

Beware. Do not get braces or any long-term treatment with this office…read more I have just recently concluded 3 long years of hell with this office of what was originally supposed to be a year-long treatment. I came in to talk to the orthodontist in September 2022 because I had had a baby tooth that had never fallen out and I knew I would need to have braces placed to make space before eventually getting an implant. The orthodontist said it would take about a year of treatment and then the implant could be placed. I was told a reasonable price after both my husband and my insurance paid their shares and i thought it all sounded great. The trouble started that first day because I was told they couldn't get approval from my husbands insurance plan and that they knew they would pay $1000 towards braces but the insurance office was already closed that day, so if I wanted my braces placed, I could pay the $1000 along with my own co-pay and I would be reimbursed after the insurance went through. I said, sure I'd pay it no problem. I got my braces on and then the next week, I called them to check on the status of the insurance and they said it was good to go and I would get my money back after the treatment concluded. I figured that was fine because it would go towards my implant when I needed it. No problem. Fast forward two years later and my treatment still wasn't done. Every time I came in, the orthodontist said to come back on 4-6 weeks and they NEVER had appointments. Every time, I was scheduled 3-4 months out it seemed. This is the reason that the treatment took so long and every time I came in, they were taking more and more new patients. It was obvious that they did not care about the current patients they had and making sure that they were getting appointments on time, they only cared about shoveling in the cash from new patients. This office is like a revolving door for staff. By the time two years had come and gone, I had barely seen the same people at the desk when checking in and I figured I should ask about when I was going to get my $1000 back, just to reassure myself that everything was good once I finally was able to get the implant. The lady at the desk acted like she had no idea what I was talking about. I had to go through the whole story and they looked through my file and saw a document where I was quoted for the price that included the $1000 from my husband insurance but it turned out that no one actually filled the claim so the money was never paid out. I went back and forth with them about this but the last word from their corporate office that they sent to me via email was that it was too late and I was just out that money. I would have waited to get my braces on if I had known this would have been the case. The office staff made me feel like I was crazy even though I know what I was told but they are the worst gaslighters I have ever encountered. Another YEAR rolls around and finally I can get my implant. I make an appointment with their periodontist to verify the space and they call me a day before the appointment saying the Dr had to reschedule. I reschedule and once again they call me close to that appointment and say the Dr will be out again but I can drive an hour and a half away to another office to see him. I said no, just schedule me in Murfreesboro when he is available, they said they didn't have his next schedule and would call me to reschedule when it came out. I never got a call for that. So, after 3 years of braces and no implant, I had enough and called them to schedule a time to just get my braces off and I would take my business elsewhere for the implant. I made the appointment over the phone and came in at the scheduled date and time and they told me, no I didn't have an appointment. By this time, I was so tired of being jacked around by the office and company that I was livid. I said I wasn't leaving without my braces coming off. The lady at the desk kept saying things like it wasn't her fault because they had all new staff and stuff that happened on the past wasn't her and that the call center probably made a mistake. Worst customer service ever. If you are sitting at a desk for a company and the company messes up, YES, it is your fault. YOU are the current representative of the company at that desk and it is on YOU to make it right, not point fingers at people who are not there. Ugh. All this to say don't come near this office. I saw 3 different orthodontists during my treatment and countless different dental assistants and office staff. No matter how inexpensive the braces are, it's worth it to go to a reputable company that cares about the patients more than increasing their bottom line.

I really like how they allowed my son to see how well he had been brushing by the "blue toothpaste". I had been looking for the antiquated disclosing tabs that I grew up using. They have the game room for older children and a play area for younger children. The games have definitely played roughly by some kids through the years but still worked enough for the kids to enjoy for the brief waiting time (5-15 minutes). They also shared about options to help my youngest son to his stop thumb sucking which may prevent the need for braces later in life. Very pleased with this first visit especially after have been with another provider for nearly 7 years. Change can be hard but the experience here made it a little easier. Update 7/26/2018 Changed from 4 star to 5 Star: Both kids (7 y/o and 3 y/o) had appointments together. I was to sit in a spot to have sight of both of them since the younger opted for the individual room. Speedy, efficient service--in and out within 30 minutes for cleanings. When establishing next appointments, I mentioned that my oldest doesn't like to miss school so we might have to split them up. The hygienist offered to check the school schedule to see when they would be out of school. Amazing!! Very pleased customer!!
