Extremely Disappointing Experience -- Think Twice Before Trusting This Service Center Our brand-new 2026 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 2500 HD, a $95,000 truck that we absolutely LOVED, is still sitting at the service center because apparently getting a simple repair done correctly is too much to ask. We brought our truck to Murdock Chevrolet Service Center (Woods Cross) for a factory issue that was not caused by us. While the dealership was working on that issue, their service department caused scratches and paint chips to the truck. What should have been a simple touch-up turned into an absolute nightmare. The body shop they use, Higgins, has now worked on the same quarter panel FIVE TIMES, and somehow the situation continues to get worse. Their apparent solution seems to be to keep buffing and polishing the panel and hoping the damage disappears. It doesn't. At some point, repeatedly reworking the same area is not a repair -- it is making the problem worse. This is a brand-new truck that has never been in an accident or had collision damage, yet it has now undergone repeated body work because of damage caused while it was in the dealership's possession. We have serious concerns about the impact all of this work is having on the truck's condition, appearance, and potential resale value. We did not pay nearly $95,000 for a truck that would immediately become a repair project because of the dealership's mistakes. The inconvenience has been ridiculous. We've had to repeatedly rearrange our schedules, leave work early, make trips back and forth, and continue dealing with a problem that should have never existed in the first place. And the customer service has been just as disappointing. I have personally contacted upper management regarding this situation and couldn't even get the courtesy of a response to my email. Apparently, once they have your money, getting someone to take responsibility becomes someone else's problem. At this point, our frustration has gone far beyond the paint damage. We have completely lost confidence in this dealership and the people they have entrusted with our vehicle. What makes this even more upsetting is that we genuinely loved this truck when we purchased it. Now, after everything that has happened since the day we brought it in for a factory repair, we don't even feel the same way about owning it anymore. This has been, without question, the worst dealership service experience we have ever had. A $95,000 brand-new truck should not leave a service department looking worse than when it arrived -- especially when the damage was caused by the dealership in the first place. Murdock Service Center and Higgins have had multiple opportunities to make this right. Instead, they have repeatedly made it worse. At this point, I would strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from this dealership to think very carefully about how they handle your vehicle once they have it in their possession. We didn't bring them a damaged truck. They created the damage, failed to properly repair it, and have now left us questioning whether our brand-new truck will ever be returned to us in the condition it was in when we entrusted it to them. That is completely unacceptable. read more

Extremely Disappointed with Our Service Experience We purchased this vehicle brand new for approximately $95,000, expecting both the vehicle and the dealership service to reflect the premium standards associated with that investment. Unfortunately, our experience with the service department has been extremely disappointing and has left us questioning the level of care and accountability provided by this dealership. We initially brought our truck to the dealership solely to address a manufacturer-related issue that was not caused by us. Rather than simply resolving the original concern, our vehicle was returned to us with additional damage that was not present when we dropped it off, including scratches to the paint and damage to the bumper. It is completely unacceptable that our brand-new, $95,000 vehicle now requires additional repairs because of damage that occurred while it was in the dealership's care. Regardless of how the situation is ultimately corrected, a vehicle should never leave a dealership in worse condition than when it was brought in--especially when the customer is there for a manufacturer-related repair. What has been even more frustrating is the amount of time and inconvenience this situation has created. We have had to schedule multiple appointments, make unnecessary trips to the dealership, take additional time away from work and personal responsibilities, and continue dealing with an issue that should have been resolved during the original service visit. What should have been a straightforward manufacturer's warranty repair has instead turned into a prolonged and completely avoidable ordeal. Even if the cosmetic damage is eventually repaired, that does not erase the fact that the damage occurred while our vehicle was in the dealership's possession. Our vehicle now has a service history reflecting repairs resulting from damage that was not caused by an accident, normal wear and tear, or us as the owners. That is extremely frustrating when you have made a significant investment in a brand-new vehicle. More importantly, this experience has significantly diminished our confidence in the dealership and its service department. When you spend approximately $95,000 on a new vehicle, you expect to be able to trust the dealership with that vehicle and expect problems to be handled professionally and responsibly. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. We sincerely hope the dealership takes accountability for what happened and recognizes that customer service is about more than simply repairing the final issue. It is also about taking responsibility, communicating with the customer, respecting their time and property, and making sure the customer leaves feeling that their business is valued. At this point, we are extremely disappointed--not only with the damage to our truck, but with the lack of accountability and the overall handling of this situation. (pic before damage) read more

Buying a new car is always a fraught undertaking, but the last one we purchased, a 2026 Chevrolet Traverse, was a breeze and a not-unpleasant experience. We worked with Robert, who was very helpful, very informative, and great to work with. The whole process went smoothly and efficiently, and then when I took it in for the first oil change, the same: the service department was friendly and professional, and I learned that GM gives you your first oil change for free! There's a very nice waiting area next to the service bay, with comfy seats, free wi-fi, a big TV, and free popcorn and soft drinks. I'll definitely go back, and would work with Robert again for another car if I needed one. read more

**AWARENESS FOR VETERANS, SERVICE MEMBERS, CONSUMERS** I'm a U.S. Navy veteran and recently purchased a used 2018 Ford F-150 from Murdock Chevrolet in Woods Cross, Utah on June 24, 2025. I'm sharing my experience to help protect other service members, veterans, and consumers who expect integrity and safety when buying a vehicle. After driving the truck home, I noticed visible dry rot on all four tires, which concerned me given that the dealership had claimed to have performed a full inspection. I later spoke with General Manager Casey Bingham, who read directly from the dealership's internal inspection notes. According to the GM, their mechanic had documented the need to replace the tires for loud road noise and cupping and had verbally identified dry rot with me and another sales manager present, Eric. They also mentioned the tires were toward the end of their typical 6-year lifespan. Despite this, the dealership passed the vehicle through inspection and sold it to me without disclosing the tire condition or providing the inspection report. I was genuinely concerned for my family's safety if we were to drive in that truck with all those conditions. When I requested a copy of the inspection, I was told it would not be provided. The issue was internally known. I was not made aware of these tire conditions, therefore I was not given the opportunity to make an informed safety decision I opted into the extended warranty (5yr/75,000 miles) upon purchase for a vehicle I thought went through a thorough safety inspection and road ready, i believe this was not the case. After continued escalation, I was eventually offered a full refund, which I accepted. While I appreciate that resolution, this situation highlights a serious breakdown in safety practices and consumer transparency. Extremely unprofessional experience. I would not recommend this dealership. I contacted the dealership about a truck that was advertised as available, only to be told, "oh thats Coach's truck" (BYU-related). I was told the listing should be removed, yet it remained on their website days later. I was then directed to a second truck, assured it was available, asked to complete a credit application, and provide a $1,000 deposit. After hours of communication, I was told I would hear back the next morning once banks were open. At 9:00 a.m., the salesperson texted that there was a "slight issue." It wasn't until after 3:00 p.m. that I was finally told the truck had already been sold before my inquiry, by text message. My deposit was refunded, but my credit was still impacted due to their error. What made this unacceptable was what happened next. Management repeatedly texted my wife using information obtained through my credit application, despite all communication being with me. After clearly stating to both the sales manager and salesperson that I was the primary contact and not to text my wife, they acknowledged it and then completely ghosted me. No follow-up. No return calls. Mistakes happen, but advertising sold vehicles, running credit and taking deposits on unavailable inventory, delaying disclosure, misusing contact information, and then going silent shows a serious lack of professionalism. I took my business elsewhere and strongly advise others to confirm inventory and communication expectations before engaging with this location. read more

lady who cleans house for our family bought a vehicle from Murdock in Woods Cross February 28, 2026. The drivetrain and head gasket went out shortly thereafter. For some reason, the $5000 warranty she bought did not cover any of that. There were other mechanical problems with the vehicle. As of today, she still does not have a vehicle and is unable to get to clients homes. They have refused to unwind the deal for her. She is making loan payments to protect her credit rating and continues to carry full cover insurance. Talk about taking advantage of a single senior citizen. Shame on them. read more

‼READ BEFORE YOUR VISIT! ‼ So. I've been here before, and wrote a one star review after my walk through. Insane mark up is the short story. You can afford two mortgages a month, and want to. Then this is your place. However. I called this week asking about price disparities between this dealer and other dealers elsewhere around the country. In some cases. The same models are marked up anywhere from $3,000-$10,000. I provided examples to the "salesman," and asked why the disparity? I was then told "GM sets the market prices of the vehicles." But no definitive reason to the HUGE difference in pricing. So... today I called GM. To which they explained. They do set the MSRP on all their vehicles. But ultimately, it's only a recommendation, and each individual dealer can, in reality, set their own price. So there it is. Local mark ups at a dealer that claims to be honest, and skews the facts to twist info and blame the manufacturer. When in fact. This dealer was just caught trying to cheat people out of money. So there it is straight from GM themselves. Murdock Chevrolet is a total fraud and is doing anything and saying anything they can to screw you out of money. One star for shady and misleading sales tactics. read more

David J Peterson 2022 Silverado LTZ Topic Event Experience Summary " Murdock had my truck for almost a month, my truck runs much worse now than before it was serviced by Murdock, they delivered it back with the check engine light still on, it is scary to drive up a hill, it is gutless and even after taking it back to fix they still didn't get the check engine issue resolved. Even the pictures they sent me to show the job was finished show the light still on. I was misled and deceived on the price of repairs plus the value of a trade in, and the quality level of the parts. I paid 300% more than I needed to if I had used a different dealer. I was told i was getting a new engine and then a refurbish was installed. At no time did the Murdock people look out for me as a customer. Only when the Jerry Seiner Dealership made a better offer to help because a truck with 64k miles shouldnt break down did anybody try and help me. I am joining a group that is preparing a class action lawsuit for these engines because this type of failure is too common. I'm not sure what qualifies as a lemon but my Silverado might be a lemon. I will follow up with GM. My wife wants me to call Get Gephart on KSL, but I think BBB and GM are the best places to go to get treated fairly. " Pre 60k mile warranty check up On May 10 2025 I took my Silverado into Murdock with 59k miles and asked them to check everything out for items that would be covered by the warranty. I suggested there was a lunge when the truck shifted gears. They printed off a list of cookie cutter items to do and didn't really look at anything covered by the warrant. I took their list to the Burt Brothers in Centerville and asked them to check out these items. Murdock has a bad reputation and does price fairly and I trust Burt Brothers. Anyway BB checked out my truck and told me they couldn't in good conscience to many of the things Murdock wanted to do since the parts were fine. The Truck breaking down on Trappers Loop "On June 20 2025 we were pulling a 21 foot boat (small) and the truck had done it many times before. After about 5 miles on the road, the engine overheating light came on and then the oil overheating light came on and then the truck is stopping message came on about 5 seconds after and then the truck died right in a busy lane of traffic going up Trappers Loop. I had to get my family out and up on the side hill to get away from traffic. The highway patrol came as well. The drivers and the patrol men all commented that they don't see this much on a Chevy truck this new. When the truck broke down on the hill near Snow Basin Ski Resort I was asked by the tow truck driver where he should take my truck. I told him Murdock in Woods Cross. I was thinking they were as good as anywhere else, I was wrong. " Jerry Seiner Dealership Example A fried called up Jerry Seiner and described the situation , the miles on the truck and JS said they could work with Chevy to make it right. They knew having a truck with just over 60k miles breaking down and stranding a family on the highway wasn't a good look, safe or proper. Based on the quick analysis by the tech at Murdock stating a new engine was needed, Jerry Seiner negotiated my part of the bill down to 10% or about 1250 dollars. Murdock didn't even try and help the situation. Jacob confirmed that it is a new engine which it is not and opposite of the promised. A little bait and switch without telling the customer. Shelby in Sales also confirmed it was not a new engine. Unmet Service Manager Commitments /Promises "Since Murdock was quoting me 13-16k to fix the truck and JS was 10% of that we brought a tow trailer to Murdock to get the truck and take it to JS. Jacob must have told the service manager about the situation so the service manager came out and talked to me and promised he could do the same things as JS and since it was already in Bountiful I should leave it at Murdock. I said if you can do the same thing then i will leave it here. He assured me they could do it for the same as JS. He went back into his office and left Jacob to tell me that there was a catch. I am 100% convinced that the service manager made this up but they said I needed to prove I had been doing oil changes so I did. I said i could go to the Valvoline lube shop on 400 north in Bountiful and get receipts. They said they don't keep receipts but they submit everything to Carfax and they provided the detailed listing of about 7 different oil changes at that location and i could get more. I provided these Carfax documents to Murdock. Jacob had checked with service manager and they said that this level of detail was sufficient but they didn't accept Carfax. BS. This was strung out until I was committed to Murdock for the engine replacement and then when they had me they said it wouldn't work. So instead of 1250 they wanted to charge me 3500 dollars which i paid. " Timing July 3 and July 10th got notices of parts arrivals. I want t read more

Very disappointed in the service I had today. I normally wouldn't take the time to leave a negative review but this isn't the first time I encountered an issue. I purchased a brand new vehicle from a different Murdock dealership. With this purchase, I have lifetime "free" oil changes and tire rotations. So as annoying as my experiences have been, I will continue to go back. Today I brought my car in for an oil change and tire rotation as well as an on the spot registration renewal (no safety or emissions needed). I was told it would take about an hour or an hour and a half max. Needless to say, it was double that. After giving my keys and heading to the customer area, I was asked where my tire locks are. She said they checked the glove box and the trunk. I asked if they were sure because I'm positive they're in the trunk. The car was up on the jacks so i was unable to show them. I text the phone number I was told to text to communicate with clear instructions of where they were. No response. After 1 1/2 hours, I walked over there to explain to a rep where they were. They said they would tell the guys working on my car. After 2 hours, I walked back over and saw my car was parked like it was finished. I went into my trunk and lo and behold, there were the tire locks. I brought them in and told them I would like my tires rotated. Looks like they were never even looked for. Also, why was I not notified when my oil change was finished? The rep apologized but i experienced unnecessary wait times before. I'm the only customer in the waiting area and it takes 2 1/2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation? Also, no reminder tag printed. I have to ask everytime. They don't know how to reset service notifications. Seems like part of their job. on the plus side, the customer waiting area is clean, comfortable and quiet which is nice if you're sitting there for 3 hours. read more

Sales process was fine. Deal on the vehicle was fine. They pushed the extended warranty a lot (as expected). We didn't buy. Known issue happens (tailight issue on 2016 Yukon XL) with the vehicle we spent $30k+ on. We'd driven it less than 5k miles (just passed the manufacture warranty). We check with Becky to see if there's anything they can do- you know maybe replace it in the name of customer loyalty (they had replaced the other one as it went bad within a week and a few hundred miles). I want for a response, Becky says she'll check and get back to me. 3 Weeks later, I still hadn't heard, so I text Becky, and of course, they can't do anything, that's what the warranty is for. No surprise, right? You just figure, hey, I spent $30k on a vehicle, the dealer knows what other cars I drive, maybe, they'll look at it from a business perspective, and say: "Well, it makes sense to take care of this tailight for $600. After all, his next vehicle could be another $30k vehicle. Let's do it, it makes business sense. " Nope. Well, maybe they won't replace it, but they'll still look at it from a business perspective and see me as a customer and potential customer in the future if I get treated right, and say: "Hey, sorry we can't replace it. It really stinks that that taillight went out so soon after you bought it. I'd be frustrated too. I tried my best, but my manager says we can't replace it, but we can offer you $50 off and get you in line at your earliest convenience to get it fixed. What is the best time to bring it in?" Nope. So, I simply let them know, no big deal. I'll get it fixed, and I'll look elsewhere for future vehicles. After all, who wouldn't? Don't you want to buy from a dealer that takes care of you and will go the extra mile if little things come up? Sure. Who doesn't? "Sorry, we can't fix it. That's why I tell my customers to buy an extended warranty, but okay make us the bad guy, when you didn't buy the extended warranty. No problem we will be the bad guy that sold you a vehicle that is out of warranty and you want free work done. Got it. Cool Dude". If you want to buy a new vehicle and be taken care of after the fact if little things come up, look elsewhere besides Becky at Murdock Chevrolet. To her, you're just a number. On 18 Dec 2024 I took my 2022 Chevy Silverado to Murdock Chevrolet in Bountiful Utah for an oil change. I told the service advisor Daniel Packer that was why I was at the service center. The truck had 37,197 on the odometer and was running perfectly. I told him I did not need the recommended tire rotation because the tires were brand new. I did ask him to check tire pressure. Mr. Packer informed me that the truck was due for the 36,000 mile service and there were several maintenance issues to be addressed in order to maintain my warranty. He did not go over the specifics and I never signed anything. I walked back to the waiting room and brought up on my phone the standard maintenance schedule. (The owner's manual was in my truck.) I have another Silverado and was never given an extensive list of mandatory maintenance requirements similar to what he briefly described, so I walked back over a second time and asked him to pull up the records for my other Silverado. He did so and no similar work had been noted to be required or completed at the 30 or 36K interval. When I told him this, he reiterated that my warranty would be invalid if I did not perform the maintenance he listed, so I thought I had no choice. When I got home and looked over the Invoice (they would not let me take the truck without paying and no one explained anything about what was completed). Checking my owner's manual and online blogs it became abundantly clear to me that every item on the invoice except for the oil change is not a requirement, and all of the options were of questionable value especially for a truck less than 3 years old running perfectly. Most of the below listed options involve simply pouring some additive into a reservoir. Here is the list of add-ons that are not required by GM that I was charged for: Frigi-Fresh Sanitizer Service - $58.72 Mass Airflow Sensor Cleaning - $89.45 Premium Engine Oil Conditioner - $24.75 Engine Crankcase Cleaning Service - 62.79 Premium Universal Coolant Conditioner - $65.14 ACDelco Enhanced Maintenance Platinum Direct Injection Fuel System Cleaning Service - $284.58 The services required by GM at this mileage interval according to my owner's manual are as follows: Rotate tires Check engine oil and filter and change, if necessary Check engine air filter and change, if needed Murdock Chevrolet in Bountiful Utah duplicitously led me to believe I needed over $700 in services to remain in compliance with GM requirements for my 5 year/60K powertrain warranty. Clearly this is a corporate level decision to increase revenue by fooling customers into paying for unneeded services. For the record, I have called the service manager Chris Aizpitarte at least 15 times over the last 2 days (18 and 19 Dec 2024). He has never responded to my concerns verbally or in writing and apparently has no interest in doing so. read more

Overpriced. I purchased a used Ford F-150 on 01/20/2025 and signed paperwork with America First Credit Union. I drove my truck home with a temporary tag that expired on 3/6/2025. I called on 3/20/2025 to see why I have not received my plates or loan information. My first payment was supposed to be due in March. They informed me they can't give me another temporary tag until my loan is funded and they would get back to me. I still have not received a phone call back and am driving with an expired plate as of 3/25/2025. I already spent $490 tinting the windows and they may say bring it back because it's not funded. I signed with AFCU and you let me take it home. I would think if it wasn't funded (approved), they would not let you take it home. I suspect they will try to keep my down payment as well as not reimburse me the window tinting costs I forked out as well. Hopefully it was a mistake, and it was or is funded, but a phone call would be nice. That is just poor customer service. At this point I definitely would not recommend buying a vehicle from Murdock Chevrolet to anyone. read more

These people seem to be nice enough (or perhaps that's just an act), but they are completely hapless. I bought a car from out of state. Their finance person, Roland, asked me to lie to the credit union in case they called. He wanted me to tell them I signed all the documents in person. Thankfully, they never called. After receiving the car, I found out it had mismatched tires (the rears were legally bald), it needed an alignment, and had two bent rims. They obviously didn't do much of a safety inspection.....and this was NOT an inexpensive car. When I went to the Nevada DMV to register the car, they charged me an additional $439.46 in sales tax because the dealer got the numbers wrong. So my out-of-pocket expense to correct all these things was close to $4K. Not once did they offer to make any of this right. To be fair, the salesperson (Alecia) was professional, but everyone else I have dealt with is totally incompetent. Believe the terrible reviews and steer clear of this dealership run by Moe, Larry, and Curly. EDIT: My response to Scotts comment below: 1) Thanks for not denying that the finance guy asked me to lie to the credit union. 2). Corvette tires do not "generally come with lower tread depth"....what an ignorant remark. The standard depth is 10/32". The rears were 2/32" on the inside edges (a sign the car is out of alignment) and the fronts were 4/32"....both unsafe. And apparently your stellar service department did not notice that there were different models of tires on the front vs. the rear. Are they blind as well as incompetent? You say you have photos of the car sitting in the showroom? Do those include a tire tread gauge showing the depth? If so, I'd like to see those. 3) Your GM drove the car and felt no vibration. Guess what? I felt no vibration either but that doesn't mean there were no bent wheels. I found it out when I had to put a new set of tires (thanks to you) on the car and the tire shop checked the run out (do you know what that is?), something a dealer selling an expensive, used performance car should have done as part of their safety inspection. THAT'S how you find out if a wheel is truly bent and causing possible damage to the suspension or transmission/drivetrain. However, based onto the past reviews of your shop, it's no surprise that neither Moe, Larry , or Curly performed such a routine inspection. The fact is, bent wheels on C7 Corvettes is a well-known issue that has warranted several class action suits against GM. This information is apparently lost on you and your service department. 4). How big of you to admit your mistake on the tax fee. If you think that makes up for your other despicable business practices, it does not. Your dealership not only asked me to do something illegal, you guys are incompetent on all levels, from the financing department to the service department. Not once did you offer to try makes the "errors" on your part right. I had to come up with $4K to get everything straightened out. Shame on you. You exemplify all the negative images people have regarding car dealerships.......and you continue to do so with your banal response to my initial review. read more

Well I was just taken for a ride. Today I was looking for used cars in Facebook marketplace and came across a 2005 Volkswagen Touareg list at $3999 which according to Kelly Blue Book is a fair market price. I thought this was great. I asked if it was available to then receiving multiple phone calls and text messages. I got calls from Austin, I even got a call from Sam the sales manager. Each phone call consisted of setting up an appointment time and after that they seemed to want to make completely sure I would not be late or early for the time set. Oddly strict appointment keeping seemed to be a high priority to them. Well I did get there early and was greeted then left alone for about 20 minutes not even offered a chair. I do have to say they did offer me a drink which was nice of them. Well after about half an hour they had the car ready for me to look at. First thing I see is the check engine light is on. Next I pop open the trunk and the prop arm wont hold the truck open. Then we check under the hood where yet again the prop arms can not hold the hood open I asked what they could do about those he Austin told me nothing because this is a mechanic special. Hold the phone that was not what was in the add on facebook this is not what was talked about. Well I will give him he said we could look at what they could do for me. Then turns out that the car was out of gas and needed to be filled up. So my test drive turned into me driving to the gas station for them to fill the tank. This is where I find out the gas meter is broken and the HUD on dash board is flashing please fuel vehicle. OK so there are a lot of things wrong with this car. All of which is fine I just wish they would have had the courtesy to have told me the problems with the car before I drove all the way out there from my home in West Jordan. Anyone of the multiple phone calls they could have easily said BTW there are a couple things wrong with the car we are selling it as is. That would have been really nice to know before I drove an hour in heavy traffic to see the car. So now we sit down to talk about and Austin asks me what I think to which I say "well there are a ton of things wrong with this car it won't even pass inspections." "yup" he says. "Let me get my financing manager over here and see what he can do to help you." This just turns into an argument where they can't seem to find anything could have done differently. I said you could have told me over the phone what was wrong with it. They told me they have not looked at it and will not look at it. I asked why are they even selling this car if it is such bad shape? No good answer there other then to make money. The Finance guy kept defending that it was sold at "wholesale" price, but anyone with a computer can go on KBB and see it is being sold at market value not some made up "wholesale" price. I asked him point blank is this a product Murdock would defend and stand behind to which he replied "NO" at this point my wife was so upset at how we were treated she insisted we leave as they could not have cared less about us and treated us more rudely then I thought possible. Bottom line if you want people to come down you could be honest. You could post honest adds with proper information. Heck you could even have your mechanic team at least look at the car and see why the check engine light is on. I mean the half hour I waited in the show room you could have taken it down to a Checker and had them run a free check engine light diagnostic and could have told me what was at least going on with the car. It could be something complicated or just an bad sensor but nope they will just try and sell you what ever piece of junk they have with no care whatsoever into being something that would be considered a reputable establishment. read more

Poor customer service. I am so easy going and was so unimpressed by my entire experience that I find myself here leaving a review for everyone else to just find a different car lot. It won't be worth your time shopping here. read more

The saga continues. My wife and mother-in-law drove up to Odgen today to visit some family and guess what happened? The transmission is acting up and won't get out of 2nd gear. That car was one of the worst decisions EVER. We will NEVER buy from Murdock again. I have some real concerns with the service department. And that seems very validated scrolling through the reviews! The majory of the negative ones seemingly aimed at the service dept and dating back YEARS! "Lack of communication" "deceptive warranty claims" "apathetic personnel" etc, etc...I removed my original review after the service manager, (after a month of trying to connect) reached out and gave me a partial refund on a battery that died and needed to be replaced less then 24 hours after I dropped $40k on a truck worth maybe a little over half that, thinking the service packages and extended warranty I purchased would provide peace of mind. Only to have Casey try to convince me that it was an unfortunate coincidence and that replacing the battery would cost me $615. Again, I spent nearly $40,000. For that, they couldn't cover the battery as a courtesy? Also, as a new customer, I'd think they would want to do everything they could to make me happy and ensure repeat business. Especially as I'm I'm sure you know, word of mouth and social media posts can be very powerful! Also, the service personnel on the couple of times I went in seemed very disingenuous and even put out at my very presence! I felt ignored, brushed off, and screwed over. And as I am apparently obligated to return for warranty service, oil changes, etc, I wish I could have some reassurance that this wasn't the "norm" and I would be treated fairly and with more respect on subsequent visits. But there doesn't seem to be much hope for that! I would love to hear an owner/management response! Do they care? Or is the customer unimportant once you have their money? read more

They had a used car advertised with an entertainment system. We tried to get it to work but the remote control was missing and the system is worthless without the remote. I asked if they would replace it or give us what it costs to replace it(about $200) and they said no. If you buy a used car here BE SURE to do your own thorough inspection because they will do whatever they can to cut corners and not have to pay for repairs before you buy it. And don't agree to buy unless you get all repairs in writing. They are cheap and don't care about customers. read more

So I bought my truck there and had a good experience but 1 1/2 year later my truck had issues with there service department I have a 3 inch lift and supposedly they needed to lower it to a 2 inch lift cause it has issues that the 3 inch lift did. They should of fixed this before I bought it than they were dishonest about what they told the warranty on my truck and tried to scam me and were being shady. Please boycott this service place they all think there untouchable and this is the only way they can be stopped. read more

Stay away from the service department. Complete waste of time. No one values your time or money. Always takes multiple trips to fix any issue. Been lied to more times then I can count with these guys. read more

My vehicle had been in and out of the shop with Murdock.Communication has been completely awful, I took my truck in last month and they supposedly fixed this coolant leak, but here we are again with the leak. I called this morning and they said they would have the adviser call me today, no call to me was ever made I wish I could say this was the first time I have had this issues but unfortunately it was not. So far cruddy service, cruddy work, and cruddy follow through. read more

Bought car a month ago from Murdoch , Arturo Nunez was the salesman, We were told they would fix the side mirror adjuster. Still waiting for them to get the part from the VW dealer even though we went to the dealer and got confirmation that they had the part. We have contacted Arturo at least 5 times about when they will fix it - it becomes pass the buck time with him. Also talked to the used car sales manager- passed the buck to Arturo. I saw that a Scott Keeler at Murdoch replies to negative feedback so I called the number that is on one of the reviews 3 times and have left messages for him. His phone message identifies him but he is not at all interested in returning calls. We bought this car with my daughter for her and her husband who is serving in the U.S. Army. So this a good indicator on how they treat military families. It seems like they are a one and done type of business with no interest in return customers. read more

Spoke with Tim in the service department. I'm having a huge issue with my 2009 Silverado 2500 and I asked for some insight as to what it might be and whether it was a common problem in this year/model. He wouldn't help at all. Just kept saying, "I don't know. I won't know anything unless you bring it in and we start digging." When I asked some other pertinent questions, he only repeated that we just needed to bring it in. I talked to three other shops who at least offered some ideas as to what cause the failure and what would go into repairing my pickup. Don't bother with the service department here. All it sounded like was he wanted to get our vehicle in so they could start chafing like crazy. He seriously made me feel like a checkbook instead of a customer. read more

I am paying $2200, to fix the truck I purchased 4 months ago from this team of con artist. Murdock Chevrolet Bountiful, completed over $1200 of work and then called to ask if I approve. Tim from Service, listed all these new issues Bent Frame, and he said it looked like someone was beating the underside. Tim from Murdock Chevrolet Bountiful asked who I got the truck from, because they definitely had something to do with it. After I told him I got it from them, he stammered and hung up. GIVE ME MY TRUCK BACK, this whole situation makes me uncomfortable. You can keep the used parts and horrible service, I'll go anywhere else. So glad I was forced to purchase the $1000 maintenance package, worthless investment. read more

Scheduled a recall repair for today and my check-in time was 8:30am. I dropped my truck off at 8:20 and when asked if I need it back soon I said "As soon as possible would be nice." At 8:39am I got a text from the person that took my car saying I could text her back with any questions. At 12:10pm I sent a text asking for a status. One hour later at 1:13pm I got a response saying the tech would be able to start on it in about 30 minutes. At this point they'd had my truck for 5 hours and still haven't looked at it. I called and spoke with the person that took my truck and was told that they're short staffed due to Labor Day weekend. I said this is not acceptable and that I would be there to collect my truck. When I arrived I immediately asked to speak to her manager. When he came back I explained the situation and asked why even make appointments if it will take 5 hours to get it in. He said "I guess we should just stop making appointments." I restated the situation and asked if it was acceptable. He agreed it wasn't. Then he asked what I wanted him to do. I explained that for him to look to me for resolution was a problem. I asked if we should ask K.O. or Blake if they can give him any ideas for resolution. He didn't want to do that. I explained that it's poor practice to look to the customer for resolution on scheduling issues or issues managing the daily duties. Not entirely a waste of time because I found out what they're about at Murdock Chevrolet in Bountiful. Update: Back in '98 I bought a Blazer from Murdock and the customer service wasn't the greatest then. I'd hoped things would have changed after 20+ years but after the response from Scott K. stating had I left it with them they could have fixed it... Remember the 5 hours you had it? Scheduling is an in-house issue. Taking responsibility would be a better gesture than blaming the customer again. Poor performance Murdock Chevrolet. Hopefully there are others with better experiences than I've had. *shrugs read more

I came in to check out the new zr2s because my truck is getting a little high on mileThere was a used one that one of the managers had driven that had 7,000 miles on it. We started talking about what they could do on the price to get a "deal you can't pass up". When they came back they were starting the price out on what it would go for brand new msrp. Yes, sticker price for used. On top of that 5k extra of bullshit fees. Little did they know I had looked up on their website while they were "working a deal", they had posted the same truck over 4K below sticker price on there. I was almost insulted on how bad they were trying to screw me. BEWARE dishonest stereotypical car sales managers. If they have a chance to try and screw you they will. Lost my trust and won't go back. To reply to Scott who is desperately trying to save face. Those numbers are not the numbers that I saw. I get there are fees tacked on as well, but the list of about 9 fees maybe 3 or 4 are legitimate. I've dealt with these deals before and I've never seen anything as bogus as this one. Just a fair warning if you're thinking about doing business with them. If there's an opportunity to take advantage of you they will. Btw I got about 8 phone calls from them after my one visit and it's only been 3 days. read more
