We were at the mall shopping for outfits for an upcoming event and stopped in to grab a quick bite and rest for a bit. The restaurant was clean and our server was nice. We ordered the Valentine's special "surf & turf" which if it's not on the menu it should be. It was delicious. My hubby ordered a few pieces of sushi, eel and yellowtail and I had a piece or two of tuna. We also had the muscles which if you haven't tried, this is definitely the place! Everything was so good! We usually order for delivery, this was our first time in the restaurant itself. I was almost nervous going because I didn't want to be disappointed and lose one of our fav delivery joints but no worries, we'll still be enjoying it at home as well. Service was great. The food was good and the location was perfect for today. The grand-daughter loved the Yaki soba and was able to get the dish without the "yucky" broccoli. The wife and I had the octopus and seaweed salad with California, spicy tuna and spicy Crab rolls. (A tad mundane). We have debated trying Murasaki for the last couple of years. I was always deterred by the negative reviews. Today we took family from out of town and tried it for the first time. I am so pleasantly surprised by our experience! The service is average, but the food is excellent for the price point. We ordered many items to test including chicken and steak (medium) hibachi, Manhattan rolls, firecracker roll, and rainbow roll. Everyone at the table enjoyed the sushi which was excellent- especially for Anderson. The hibachi meat was well seasoned, vegetables were cooked well, rice was seasoned and enjoyable. I'm particular about white "yum-yum" sauce and enjoyed the different taste/texture. (It's a little more runny than some sauces I've had.) This isn't a Japanese steakhouse if that's what you're expecting. It's a quick, sit-down Japanese restaurant that serves great food. We'll be going back for more! read more

Honestly best sushi I've had in a while. I've lived in and had sushi from Boston and Atlanta and this is one of the best, if not the overall best. I ordered the $27 sushi for two. (Does not sound like a lot of food but the amount of fish that comes on the nigiri is very generous) Two soup (we got one miso and one broth- miso was better) Two salads with ginger (very fresh) Three rolls (we got spicy tuna spicy shrimp and one other) 5 piece nigiri (to die for...so good) I would say it's a little pricy for the area but totally worth the splurge. Service was impeccable But really nothing outshines the quality of the food. I think the most important part of sushi is rice. (Sushi rice just sticky enough to hold together but not too sticky) And murasaki gets it just perfect. I'm almost 100 percent the chef is Japanese (making the sushi so legit) If there was one thing I could change I wish they would give more choices for the rolls (for the $27 sushi for two special). read more

My favorite thing is the broth soup they serve with entrees. I would buy that stuff by the gallons. The hibachi tofu was fantastic. Flavorful with excellent texture on the tofu. The cheese angels are great. Low point is definitely the "salad" they serve with entrees. It's just lettuce with maybe a cucumber slice and the only dressing choices are ginger or pink sauce. Honestly would rather be given an option of anything else or just not get it bc it's going to be wasted food. They are not easy to substitute or special order if you have aversions or allergies so make sure you pay attention to the menu. It was very complicated to try to order something plain that my nephew would eat. We couldn't just order plain cooked shrimp it was a whole process. read more

Amazing variety of sushi and hibachi. The only negative is that some of the combinations in the sushi's are not as palatable. But besides that most of the food on the menu is amazing and the service was even better. Spicy tuna was inedible. Even the waitress admitted after we complained, that she couldn't eat it ( But she didn't take the charge off our bill). It was nothing but a tasteless mush. Other items are ok, but if you advertise yourself as a sushi bar, you should know how to make sushi that is at least as good as or better than grocery store sushi...Sashimi was not bad at all by comparison. Had a cooked chicken dish, and the chicken had a very strange taste and texture, almost as if it were precooked and thrown in the pan to heat up. Anderson deserves better! read more
