Orange Peel Beef with steamed rice (rice = half of what they normally serve per my request)
Laurel R.

Was so happy to try out this restaurant that seemed to be closed for lunch for the last year or so. Nice, bright and clean inside. Servers very friendly. Started off with their silky Wonton Soup and side of wonton crackers. Lunch comes with either soup or eggroll, so I ordered a spring roll on the side. For my entree, I tried the Orange Peel Beef with a steamed rice (the rice is typically double this amount, but I asked for just a bit). It came with broccoli, peppers and onions. The Orange Peel Beef was good, but it was in a very "liquidy" sauce (versus sticking to the beef) and made the fried beef not so crunch anymore. But still very tasty. I am eager to try the Pecan Shrimp that was highly suggested by my server. We will be back!

Great food! Pecan shrimp is one of my favorite dishes in town of anywhere. Chef is the owner and this place has been here for 20 years!

Best Chinese food in Anderson, SC. No buffet and the best duck sauce I have ever had in my life.

Very good, does not have a buffet strictly sit down and order or take out. Friendly staff, great crab ragoons.

Grand China serves no alcohol. Therefore no Plum Wine and as we all know "plum wine is plum good"!

I always try to give a restaurant at least twice before leaving a less than stellar review. Well…read morenow I've tried them a couple of times and I'm still not impressed. The food is okay, not great. The service a bit of a mess, the ambiance is okay. Our table ordered Drunken Noodle which was good, red curry and green curry. We also had a coconut soup and an order of baby egg rolls. My favorite part of the meal was the baby egg rolls and that's kinda sad. My companions ordered Thai teas and I got sweet tea which my tea was fine. Hubby's drunken noodle was actually pretty good. My green curry (with tofu) was fine but the rice was mushy. We also got a mango sticky rice for dessert but it seemed the rice was leftover from yesterday maybe. I wish I had better remarks but again, this is not my first visit and I had similar complaints the first time. As far as service, the servers were nice enough and I think for the volume of patrons they were doing okay but it still was a bit of a mess. They were doubling the work trying to cover all tables when maybe they should've had separate sections. I think that would've quelled some of the overlap like both servers working to refill my tea and by the time one had, the other was coming with the pitcher. This next part is the fault of the kitchen. I watched table after table get served their dishes scattered, where one person would get theirs while the others at the table were waiting for theirs to come. Some would wait for the others to be served but some would go ahead and start eating ahead of their party. This happened the last time I was there as well. That needs to be tightened up. Personally, I wouldn't go back. The experience was a bit of a drag. We regretted ordering dessert as it took so long to come and we were antsy to get out of there by the time it came. The food was good enough but it could've been so much better and the service stayed afloat but certainly could be better.

We had never had Thai food before, my husband and myself came here for his job from East Tennessee…read more We really wanted to try it, but had no clue what to order. No worries, the Staff at Thai Spice were very helpful in recommending dishes that we might enjoy. We absolutely loved the food. When my son visited I was sure he would not want to eat there, he is so picky, but he loved it! Now when he visits he wants to know when we are going to eat there again! If I am feeling ill I get the Tom Kai Soup, I may not spelling it correctly but not sure, I always feel better, the ginger, mushrooms, you can have meat added or not, this goes for most all of the dishes. If you're a pro at Thai Food, or a novice like we still are, just ask! Everything I have had is great! You can't go wrong.

Placed a "to go" dinner order around 7pm on a Monday evening. Our usual place is closed on Mondays…read more The order was ready in a timely manner. However, $40 seems a bit overpriced for 1x sesame chicken, 1x honey chicken, 3 egg rolls and a small egg drop soup. Especially considering the quality of the food. The entree's vegetables were undercooked. Both chicken entrees tasted like they were fried in old oil. The lo mien has no seasoning or vegetables; just plain noodles. The "fried" rice provided with one entree was basically just streamed with a little soy and no vegetables. The egg rolls were large but only contained shredded cabbage resulting with very little flavor. I was extremely disappointed especially considering the price. Do not recommend and will not be going back.
