This is not a family-friendly facility. My 14 year old tried to come with me as a guest to try it…read moreout (my 16 year old had come once). They said the 14 year old had to buy a package for kids which was $30 for 10 visits (no smaller packages just to try it out). When deciding on it when she was already with me in her workout clothes, we told the worker that she was going to sometimes come with her friend's family, so we would get it. Nothing was said about any rules against this. A month after that, I decided to cancel my membership because of several reasons (class times not convenient for a teacher. Rigid rules about teen memberships, etc). When I canceled, they called to tell me Tessa's membership would also be canceled since she has to come with me. I told them my understanding was that she just had to be with an adult. They would not budge and told me absolutely no refunds for any reason. This is very poor business. Also, their policies are so rigid...a 14-15 year old must work out with a parent. I don't know many teens that want to be glued to their parent's side when working out. Other gyms have much more flexibility. Other businesses would be more flexible with miscommunications. I'm glad we are ending our membership there.

My how Fitness Pointe has fallen in a few short years is a tragedy. The staff that once went out…read moreof their way to smile and welcome you by eagerly offering assistance are today far too busy sitting on their asses texting on their cell phones. They used to take your blood pressure by just noticing you sitting in a chair. Today, they're too lazy to get up off their asses! Don't blame Covid, that's any easy excuse and a cop out. No mouthwash in the locker room any longer! We didn't forget! Fitness Pointe did! Poor leadership that would rather blame someone for complaining about a problem person, in hopes one of them would cancel their membership so Mr Coward manager didn't have to take a stand. Missing leadership! Arrogant! Excellent at being pompous and arrogant! Then there's the therapy pool piranha and the school of disgruntled, mean followers that believe this is their own personal warm water swamp. The pool piranha feverishly splashes about from side to side hogging up three lanes is a message to everyone...I OWN THIS POOL! I COME FIRST! You must kiss the ass of the selfish pool piranha and follow it around, back and forth like a good little obedient fan. No respect for others! You can't enjoy the therapy pool alone because the pool piranha lacks attention and needs your constant validation. Then there's the employee with the strawberry blonde brush haircut that hates everyone including itself. Mean, belligerent and can easily grimace, flip you the finger or tell you to SHUT UP! Excuse me....Is one of it's tired, dated lines. When management lacks the balls to use their authority properly, you end up with sacred cow staff members, laziness and a few angered members calling the shots over the majority. Fitness Pointe isn't the best place to work out or enjoy your leisure. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! Not worth the aggravation!

My son learned how to swim by taking swim lessons at the PFAC. My son has also taken the junior life guard class two years in a row and has enjoyed it. My now 5 year old daughter has taken two years of swim lessons here and has learned alot. The adult pool is nice, quiet and relaxing, eventhough I don't use it as much as I use too. My two younger kids enjoy the zero depth pool (beach pool) and sand box. My son enjoys the water slide, drop slides and the wall climb. There really is something for all ages at the PFAC.

I spent my entire childhood at the PFAC hanging out in the puddles, the zero-depth pool and the badge pool. Now that I am decidedly over 18, I have graduated to the adult deck and it is fabulous! It is a completely calm, child-free zone complete with designated lap lanes and available lounge chairs. I can spend hours here swimming, sun bathing and reading. Beyond just splashing around in the pools, the Aqua Center always tries to provide other services. They have swim lessons, private party rentals and this year Aqua Zumba classes are offered on Saturdays for $5. I wouldn't last 5 minutes at a zumba class on land, but in the water I am a contender. The facilities are also very clean and the lifeguards are very professional. We might not be going on vacation this year, but we are going to the PFAC and it feels just as good.

Recreation coordinator, Chris Geiger, demonstrated he doesn't follow the YMCA motto, especially regarding the current volleyball league, and was unprofessional and dismissive towards us. This is the mission motto shown on the YMCA's social media videos and is on display at the facility as well: "To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all." As long-standing Catholics/Christians ourselves, addressing people with respect and empathy is part of our lives. This YMCA stresses this motto but Chris does not follow it, nor does the employee in question, Jordan, aka J (who was on our VB team, at the time). During a game play, Jordan unnecessarily came running and slide hard into me (from a VB postion that he wasn't supposed to and didn't need to): as a result, I fell forward and hit my head on the VB court from his slide. Chris was refereeing this game and witnessed this incident but did nothing about it. It was clear I was disoriented from this hit and noone even bother to check on me. The game ended quickly and thereafter I went to the local Expresscare to have my head check for concussion: the Doctor did verify it. Next day, we presented a professional email to Chris about this incident and he didn't respond back to us. To not address this problem was unprofessional, unethical and inhumane. You don't dismiss people when there is a problem, especially a problem where you are a witness to the incident. In the end, we stop going to this facility because Chris fails as a coordinator in addressing safety, professionalism and empathy + he has shown to not follow the motto of the YMCA. Jordan never apologized for his reckless and unstandard playing methods either, which was unprofessional and unethical.
