They lifeguards go do check ins I'm the locker rooms the water for the shower is hot so no need to scream in cold showers. I been here so many decades ago but it still a gorgeous place for the entire family to come and have fun. I love the fact that they do have adult swimming every hour so yay. I mean only adult swimming. The down side is that they do not allow out door food which is hard for us since we are in a special diet no gluten dairy free etc our food got confiscated the good side they kept it with them in the shade area indoor with them. Remember do t bring food here. You can buy food here and soda etc is not bad at all. The only thing the prices are a little high but welcome to 2023 prices. Since we are not resident to Burbank I end up paying a lot to get in I do want to thank Sebastian the life guard for doing a fast jump to assist my son that was not surfacing from jumping from the board. My son learned how to swim by taking swim lessons at the PFAC. My son has also taken the junior life guard class two years in a row and has enjoyed it. My now 5 year old daughter has taken two years of swim lessons here and has learned alot. The adult pool is nice, quiet and relaxing, eventhough I don't use it as much as I use too. My two younger kids enjoy the zero depth pool (beach pool) and sand box. My son enjoys the water slide, drop slides and the wall climb. There really is something for all ages at the PFAC.

I spent my entire childhood at the PFAC hanging out in the puddles, the zero-depth pool and the badge pool. Now that I am decidedly over 18, I have graduated to the adult deck and it is fabulous! It is a completely calm, child-free zone complete with designated lap lanes and available lounge chairs. I can spend hours here swimming, sun bathing and reading. Beyond just splashing around in the pools, the Aqua Center always tries to provide other services. They have swim lessons, private party rentals and this year Aqua Zumba classes are offered on Saturdays for $5. I wouldn't last 5 minutes at a zumba class on land, but in the water I am a contender. The facilities are also very clean and the lifeguards are very professional. We might not be going on vacation this year, but we are going to the PFAC and it feels just as good.

Guests who stepped into the hallway to cool off were told to go back inside, with little concern for their comfort. This was my cousin's wedding, and it's unfortunate that she and her guests spent so much of the day hot and uncomfortable and couldn't enjoy themselves. Overall, the poor customer service and uncomfortable conditions made for a disappointing experience. There was no concern to our comfort in addition to the rude responses from the staff. I would not recommend this venue.

Dunbar Park has a good amount of athletic features. Picnic groves are also a popular reason to come here. There's also an interactive water feature popular in summers. Around the time of World War I, the Douglas community became densely populated by African-Americans. It was an elegant neighborhood full of mansions. These mansions were divided up into apartments to house these new residents. It was a pretty rough area in the Great Depression. The area was revitalized in 1956 with the opening of Paul Dunbar High School. A few years later this park opened next to it.
