I loved swimming here when I lived in Elmhurst and Bensenville. The pool always was around 83 degrees, great for lap swimming.

Go for the water fun, stay for the food!…read more I took my 2YO boy there yesterday with some wonderful family friends and they're three children. A fabulous time was had by all splashing and swimming in this large, most ample water park. After a few times down the three intermediate slides with his da-da, my little guy was soon braving the tower and rapids himself. At one point, the little dickens even slid under the security net by the drain a few times but after retrieving him, we all had a good laugh. Time flew by as it always does when children are amidst joyful bliss and we then realized that it was time for LUNCH We were lucky enough to procure a table with chairs and an umbrella to get a brief respite from the hot sun. I stayed with the table and fed my brave little tadpole while my friends got in the food stand line. The menu items were limited to hot dogs, hamburgers, bratwurst a and chicken sandwiches. As a bit of a foodie, it has been my experience that the less items offered on menus, the higher the quality and preparation of said items. Dave came over to tell me that they were out of hamburgers. Dang! Probably the high line item. He said that he and his wife Dawn would be getting chicken sandwiches and figured 'make it chicken sandwiches around!' After ordering, they came back to the table with soft drinks and chips which did not disappoint as nothing beats BBQ Lay's and a cold Pepsi! After a brief 25 minute wait, Dave's name was called to retrieve our sandwiches from the grill. Good things come to those who wait! Dave gave me my foil wrapped deliciousness and I proceeded to unwrap. What I found was beyond what I could imagine. They started with a 4oz cube of chicken breast just smaller than half a tennis ball. This was then grilled to charred, dried perfection that rendered about 2.5oz of cooked chicken breast which was neatly placed in the middle of a wholesome bun teeming with delicious enriched white flour. As if this wasn't enough, Dave managed to get us some mayonnaise! It turned out to be a perfect afternoon snack for only $6.50. The people in charge of Chick-Fil-A would be wise to get some pointers from this hidden gem!

Just a week after our expensive outing to Park Ridge's Centennial Park, this place is a lot more fun for a lot less. First off, there's a multitude of water nozzles, fountains and other creative fun things for kids of all ages or for silly grownups like myself. There's the always popular fill-n-tilt buckets, a run-through "car wash", a sprinkler-arrayed rainbow, a fire hydrant, railroad crossing, and a pair of pivoting long-range water guns with animal heads. We came on the day of the town's annual free picnic, so it was open for everyone. However, on a regular day it costs $4 for residents and $6 for non-residents. However, parents or guardians of the kids get in free, so the $20 overpriced trip to Centennial costs only $12 here, or only $8 if our friend from town comes with us. Not all the fountains are on at the same time. Every few minutes, different ones go on while others turn off. Kids gather around certain favorite ones and wait for them to fire up. The play area is made of a high-traction, padded surface that resembles pressed loops of rubber. A little rough on the feet but I saw nobody slipping and falling (or falling unintentionally). The Stunt Baby had so much fun that he lay down on a towel, lips blue and chattering from the chilly water. Minutes later he was right back in the thick of the action again. My older son "won the bucket game" 11 times - taking a direct hit with the water bucket each of those times. In all, it's a great place to have a safe and fun afternoon. Check out the pictures.

A holy-grail destination for summer days with kids. They have a lazy river full of innertubes, and giant 2.5 foot deep pool with a play structure and various splashing items, plus a splash pad, and a junk food concession. It is neither a real swimming pool nor a water park. Not a real swimming pool because the deepest part of the pool is 2.5 feet deep. Not a water park because there's no actual waterslide, though there is a slide ... into the water -- if you grasp the distinction I'm making. But as a consequence this means that you can feel much more comfortable giving even young kids a decent amount of freedom (obviously not too much! be safe!) and generating the kind of wet, chlorinated, hot, happy, exhausted summer day that you may have grown up with as a kid. Chicago is a big city of rich amenities, so there are not a ton of things that I say are clearly worth a 45 minute drive from my house, but this is one of them.

This is a well designed water recreational area. It has been changed, upgraded and redesigned throughout the years, but still here providing a great relaxing service to this community and visitors. You can grab a towel at the nearby Marshalls, and sunscreen as well. Plenty of grocery stores and restaurants nearby if you would like to enjoy a picnic with your family as well. Enjoy this wonderful experience.
