After a very long time of dragging my heels on it, I FINALLY got a national parks passport and it was all thanks to the Munising Falls Visitor Center!
Yes, I got my passport, along with some of the official parks stickers (a new sheet is released once year featuring new parks/shores/historical spaces for you to put into said passport. They also have the "cancellations" (aka stamps) so you can cross the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Hiawatha National Forest off your lists of visited places. Prettttty cool (and nerdy, totally totally nerdy. So naturally I love it).
They also have a ton of pictured rocks and falls swag, books on Michigan wildlife/plantlife/etc that you may come across during your visits, plus awesome rangers available to help answer any questions you may have.
The falls themselves are beautiful. Not the biggest in the UP (that honor goes to Tahquamenon) but they're still relaxing and lovely. The walk isn't far, so it's not bad for folks with motion issues, but there are a few staircases that will take you to different vantage points that you may want to avoid if you're not in the best health.
A great stop along the way to other scenic views in Pictured Rocks. Highly recommend! read more
