Inside there's a counter with maps and the NPS cancelation stamp, but not much else. You also have to pay the admission fee at the counter The ranger there is pretty friendly and I overheard her giving advice to other visitors. There's no gift shop or displays/exhibits yet, but I'm hoping they're added in the future. The restrooms are located outside across the path. There's plenty of bathroom stalls. There's also an informational board next to the bathrooms with information about the area and hiking conditions. The Munising Falls are about 800 feet from the visitor center. The main path is paved with some wooden bridge areas, but overall it's a smooth trail. There's a trail to the lower falls which takes you to the level of the plunge pool, but also stairs to the upper falls if you want to get another viewpoint. Make sure to bring bug repellent since there's plenty of mosquitoes around!

Weather forecast was threatening the days leading up to our visit so I contacted Captain Mark and he called me right back and came up with a plan. But, not to worry, the storms shifted and we were able to take our tour. The boat is in great condition and the pricing is great! It was just my husband and two children and myself on a 30 ft pontoon. We could have stayed all day we enjoyed it so much. Captain Bill knew right where to take us for the best viewing and photos. She was absolutely fantastic. Our 11-year-old rode in her kayak, and Valerie did an amazing job making all of our kids (ages 7, 9, and 11) feel included, seen, heard, and part of the adventure. She was knowledgeable, entertaining, full of dad jokes, and kept the entire group engaged throughout the tour. She also took some incredible photos for our family! As parents, we really appreciated how Valerie connected with our kids and made them feel like they belonged. That small detail made a great experience truly memorable. One of the things we appreciated most was having the support boat nearby throughout the paddle. Knowing it was there if anyone needed assistance or a restroom break added an extra level of comfort and confidence, especially with younger kids. The kayaking itself was very manageable for our family, but what really set this experience apart were the views. Being in a kayak puts you right at the base of the cliffs, giving you an up-close perspective of Pictured Rocks that you simply can't get from one of the larger sightseeing cruises. Our Tour Guide Tim was awesome. His history of Munising & Grand Island added to the mystic of this ride. In addition his boating skills were phenomenal. Throughout the ride Tim would speed up, slow down, twist the boat to the left then the right. I swear at times we were at a 90° angle cruising through Lake Superior as we circled Grand Island. This made cooking and washing a real chore. I found myself dehydrated on 90 degree days because I wasn't drinking enough. The RV site next to us had it. It would be simple to split the spigot. If you have a fire ring, you should have water to extinguish said fire. You have to hike super far for water or bathrooms. There are only three showers for a ton of sites. For $150, this was a joke. There are no hooks or mirror inside or screen door (pretty standard at Kai camping cabins). Pay the extra money and stay at the Econolodge next door for $160. You'll have water, ac, and electricity. We wanted to go camping for the first time with our son. It wasn't worth it for the cabin. We should've just rented it. The campground in Newberry was half the price and worth it.
