Do not ask how my life is going that I've had to come to Needles twice inside of 3 mos. First time I brought old lady, drove around a bit and thought we'd get some lunch here. The reviews sounded delicious and it felt like a nod to the places I grew up around. Came on a Saturday in June. It was closed!!! It was a little after 1 and they're supposed to be open til 3! I wasn't impressed but decided I'd see if they were open on a Tuesday around 1:45. They were. It was much smaller inside than I'd imagined. You open the door and a lovely lady comes from the back. I asked for her recommendations. She said everyone loves their chile verde so much they had to expand it beyond breakfast. I asked if it was spicy, she said no so I ordered a quesadilla. I also wanted a taco, she said again the carne asada was loved. I did the shredded beef which she also recommended. There were a couple other people waiting. There's only a few tables inside. One guy kept opening the door and talking to another guy who also seemed to know the lady that worked there's family. Just felt homey. My food came out and though I had it packed to go I do my best to try a bite while it's hot and fresh. I got mild and green salsas and was off to the races. The taco. Lots of cheese like I like. The beef was a little lacking volume wise but the flavor wasn't lacking and the red mild salsa was a peppery delight. You'll see all the pepper in the pics. The green wasn't bad but had more of a kick with a slight fire. The chile verde I didn't appreciate until it sat for a minute. I had a few bites of it and left. On my drive back - maybe 30ish minutes, it had developed! It was this irresistible star. You could taste the flavors of the sauce, the saltiness and slightly fattiness of the meat. The homemade tortillas. So flipping yummy! It only got better the longer I left it. It was hearty and filling and flavorful. I truly don't know if I'll ever go back to Needles but if i do, I'm stopping here!

Munchy's takes cash only however, there is an ATM on site. The rolled tacos bring me back all the time. The guacamole is spot on. Very creamy and flavorful. Packed with meat and the right crunchiness of the roll. My husband had a bacon breakfast burrito. Family owned and we are always greeted. The building is so old but the restaurant is clean inside. Try this spot you won't be disappointed.

Great people! Great food! We stopped in on a day when they were super busy--there was a Route 66 event next door at El Garces. The ladies all worked hard to take care of everyone and put out some amazing food--all without losing their cool. Prices are reasonable for the size of the portions. Limited seating but we would have no problem taking it to go if there isn't a table available. Great experience! Can't wait to try them again.

The food was excellent! It was a true hidden gem! The menu is huge. You can get anything from breakfast burritos, sopas, enchiladas, tacos, and burritos! We all left with full happy belly's. The tortilla was perfectly crispy and soft. I ended up getting an extra to go! The service was very fast. Go here!!

Delicious! I had the carne asada burrito which came with guacamole and salsa which hit the spot. The prices are amazing and the portions are large for the quality of the food. It had a family feel as locals kept coming in and the woman knew them by name. Would come here again!

Great place, thanks to Yelpers to help us find this gem of a haystack in Needles. I had the Chorizo burrito and other family members had the Sausage burrito and Ham burrito. Bathroom available to customers and reasonably clean. Four tables inside so a bit cramped, but many folks get food to go. Easy walk from Electrify America especially if you don't mind walking down the sand dune.

Their breakfast burritos are really good and they're ready in a timely manner! They don't take cash and while there is an atm on site it's a bit dodgy and it will charge you for a withdrawal. read more

What a pleasure. Yes it's a hole in the wall, but very clean and the food was so delicious. I had the bean and rice burrito my boyfriend had the tacos. Everything was seasoned for gringos so if you want spice you have great homemade salsas to choose from. The tortillas melt in your mouth. The service was good,and prompt and the young lady that took our order was sweet and courteous. The restroom was small but as clean as just about any old building restroom can be. We will definitely be back and if you're on your way anywhere this is the place for an authentic really good Mexican meal. It is cash only and only soft drinks read more

Wow! Where from Texas and we stopped here on the way home. We have a lot of tax max in our state. This is very authentic and delicious for takeout. There is a place to eat inside all the locals eat here!! Highly recommend!! read more

Stopped here after camping in Mojave National Preserve for some breakfast on our way east. It's a hole in the wall, but a nice one. Pros: Cheap Good food (sausage omelete and huevos rancheros) Clean and well-kept The lady at the counter was very friendly and happy to speak Spanish even though it was clear that she spoke English waaaaaay better than we did Spanish Original oil paintings on the wall Cons: No heat (kinda chilly in Needles in December) No coffee, no horchata, no beverages other than soft drinks Cash only Styrofoam plates read more

Here is what makes munchys a 5 star place: -the taco salad was fresh, had an amazing fried taco bowl that was both flakey and crunchy, AND really yummy grilled chicken with fresh guacamole and refried beans -incredibly welcoming guy. He runs the whole thing: takes your order, makes your food, and services you with extra salsa, ice, napkins, etc. Super nice. -prices are really reasonable for how much food you get Hands down the place to stop if you go to Needles, CA. read more

Pulling into Needles after a long day of driving, I was ready for a decent meal, a shower and a bed. After reading the Yelp reviews, I quickly realized my choices were limited. Munchy's did not disappoint. It was easy to find and I parked right in front. Thanks to other reviews, I knew they were cash only. They staff were super friendly and do speak English, thankfully. The chips and salsa are super fresh and a must! I had the two soft taco plate and it was a generous portion. I ended up taking one of the tacos with me because they were hearty! They do have a soda machine, however, unsweetened fuze tea is offered, which I was pleased to discover. They did close promptly at 6:00 pm on a Saturday night, which was a little surprising. read more

1. There is basically nothing else in this area worth eating (McDonald's) and Jack in the Box) 2. The presentation of the facilities is not wonderful, but let's be honest...neither is anything else around here 3. That being said, the food was good( we had the quesadilla, carne asana burrito and asana tacos), the salsa tasted fresh and the price was VERY reasonable(two adults and a kid's meal for $15) 4. Staff was friendly and polite 6. Super fast service 5. Wish they had high chairs and different table cloths (think '90's fruit/pear pattern) 6. VERY IMPORTANT-they only take cash 7. No visible bathroom 8. Seems to have a lot of regulars Bottoms line, drive past the known fast food joints and try it! read more

The food was absolutely amazing I ordered a chimichanga which always scares me at a new place but the chicken was shredded and not diced (score) and not obnoxiously covered in sauce (double score) My favorite chimichanga ever. Our server who I believe was named vernesa, hopefully i'm correct, was super sweet and my 4 year old has never smiled at a server before her. This will definitely be our new go to spot. Our Margaritas were Perfect! All 10 of our groups dinners were delicious as well. All the staff was wonderful and I got to meet Gilbert, who has owned this establishment for many years. It was an all around Wonderful experience, just like it always has been! We will definitely be back when we visit Fort Mohave again!

Server seemed to struggle with our order when we requested our appetizer while we made our main dish decision. She sent another waitress over and it took a bit of explaining what we wanted. They probably do not get requests like ours. Drinks and appetizers served pretty quickly once they understood what we wanted. Main dish took longer but it was served fresh and hot. Serving sizes were abundant. Taste was amazing. I'll definitely be going back.

This place is definitely awesome and what Yelp is all about. From the outside this place doesn't look great, but don't let that hold you back. The food is excellent! Get whatever you order to go and you will not be sorry! (I think the hours are listed incorrectly. They close at six pm on weekdays.) read more
