Mutli Concept Recovery is a lawless, vindicative, prejudiced clinic. Do not go here. Several years ago, I went to MCR. I had a wonderful therapist who helped me recover from depression. Unfortunately, I was a victim of a violent crime and had a depression relapse. So I looked to MCR again. Good grief, did the place change. First, I asked for all the paperwork be sent to me so that I could review it in advance. This request was refused and was told it couldn't be done. They offered no rationale, just that it wasn't possible. I am then suddenly told I will be repeatedly drug tested, even though staff admit I have no substance use issues. I ask to file a grievance on the matter. Having previously been told I was already admitted, I reluctantly agree to this stipulation. Then suddenly, Edward, the clinical director, says my admission has been reversed. I ask the decision to be reviewed. I am then told I need to stop taking certain medications, even though there use was legal and appropriate. I was told the medications were previously fine to use, including Edward, and now out of nowhere, it suddenly isn't. No substantive explanation was given as to why. I again ask to file a grievance for this under the ADA, state equivalent, cite extensive case laws for both, and state law that prohibits facilities from retaliating against patients for filing grievances. Evan, the CEO, was made aware of Edward's conduct and chose not to do anything about it. I was told I would not be allowed into the program because I chose to exercise my legal rights. Simply put, MCR systemically violated my rights under state law -- case law is clear on the matter. I was a model patient several years ago. My therapist at the time told me stand up for myself when someone is mistreating me, because I needed to learn to stand up to my abusers. Suddenly, my abuser became a staff member of MCR. And when I did was I taught to do, stand up for myself, I was blatantly punished for doing so. If you are a victim of MCR, or similar entities, you have rights. You cannot be retaliated against, including non admission, for filing grievances. You cannot be retaliated against for assertion of rights, like the ADA and California equivalent. If you are a victim, contact the Department of Justice, the California Civil Rights Department, The California Department of Healthcare Services, and the California Department of Consumer Affairs (psychology board). To many fellow disabled individuals, this is nothing new. People in position authority abuse us all the time. We are viewed as "less than" in society. But I promise you, if we sit back and let this happen, it'll never get better. So if it does happen, stand up. Stand up loudly. read more

This place helped me get my life back together from being in a complete ship wreak. I'm in my mid20s and I was looking everywhere for an outpatient that I felt could actually do that job right, so that I will never have to go through the process of getting clean again ; but instead i will forever remain clean. This is my second time around getting clean I was 17 the first time and remain clean for several years without any hiccups. But as life happens, tragedy struck me and I felt the only way out was to go back to what I knew best when I was younger; drugs. When I began going to MCR to try and get clean of heroin I was filled with so many different emotions: Nervousness, shame, regret, guilt, resentment, and anger to name a few. But as I walked through the doors of MCR and the two gentlemen(the owners) welcomed me, almost immediately some of those emotions started to dwindle. They greeted me with a smile and honest handshake, and a comforting "welcome". Before I was going to make the commitment they brought me in to their office which is very home like and broke down every part of the process and what they were going to do to get me to where I needed to be and achieve my goals. At first I didn't think I would even stay a month, but within the 30 minutes of talking with these gentleman I immediately I decided i wanted to go for a month. During the years of my drug use age I had been in three different outpatients and two different inpatients; And this is the only place that changed the entire way of looking at addiction. This system they have would be hard for someone who does not want to get clean, but for someone that does, it's not only easy, but it's actually enjoyable because you feel the change in your self and not only being clean but being free through mind-body and spirit. This place saves lives. They are one of the few treatment programs around the country that genuinely cares about the welfare of their clients. They do their best to work with insurance providers in terms of coverage and benefits and are in-network with many providers which is unlike so many other rehabs out there. The staff is incredible and so knowledgeable when it comes to substance abuse treatment. When it comes to client care they truly offer every option and avenue that comes with treating addiction. As someone who has been to 20+ rehabs around the country, MCR is the real deal. From the holistic aspects to the 12 step and non-12 avenues they truly offer what is going to work for you in your personal situation which doesn't happen at many other places. They inspire hope & recovery I'm so many lives. If you read reviews that have to do with insurance you have to realize insurance companies do what's called utilization review and their payments to the treatment center are based on your progress, what groups you attend, your deductible, copays. Insurance covers most costs associated with rehab but unless you have a 100% Out of Network PPO plan expect your insurance company to screw you. This doesn't just happen in treatment it happens it labs, hospitals, speciality doctors and basically anywhere in America that offers healthcare and accepts insurance. That's the point. Each insurance company has different standards and requirements for paying for your treatment and their goal is to spend the least amount of money as possible. Evan, Eric and the entire team at MCR tirelessly dedicate themselves to help others like myself who suffer from the disease of addiction. They work really hard to do their best to make the process easy. If people have issues with the cost but their sober and alive then money shouldn't be an issue. I have been to the depths of hell in addiction, I've been homeless and died even, and idc what the cost, sobriety is always worth every penny it takes to get you there. read more

I absolutely recommend Multi Concept Recovery to anyone seeking mental health and/or addiction treatment. The whole staff worked together every step of the way to make sure I was receiving the right treatment and meeting all my goals weekly. Even before I became a client, Evan was so supportive and helpful in any way he could be of getting me out to California to receive the help I needed. Not to mention all he taught me and supported me in groups throughout my treatment. I was a client for about four months and spent many hours with this staff and it is because of them and MCR that I have been able to be a healthy member of society, remain sober, and continue to grow into the person I desire to be in life. The office is comfortable and the staff is so compassionate, well educated, and genuinely puts their effort forward to help every single client in their own unique ways. I did the night program and can't recommend it enough. The staff is kind, nonjudgmental and unwaveringly supportive. They do excellent EMDR therapy, breathwork, yoga classes, and group therapy (the PM groups are much smaller than daytime so you'll get a lot of personal attention). If you put in the work-- coming to group every, participating, being vulnerable-- I can guarantee this will be worth your time. Whether you're seeking help with depression or an addiction, the night staff is fantastic and care deeply about what they do. I was in a moment of extreme crisis when I came, and three months later I've had a huge shift in my mental health. The facility is clean and stocked with snacks, it's not sterile or cold the way a lot of mental health/addiction facilities can be. MCR was a great experience and I'm so happy I found it. read more

MCR is an IOP/PHP program where they balance professionalism with keepin' it real! I was able to work here for a time last year leading groups before needing to shift my focus and time toward private practice. MCR is great because they offer a variety of groups and they incorporate a mindfulness approach to many of them. Through what they teach and model they help clients learn to live with anxiety in healthier ways. They also assist clients with job searches and other important life skills. Owners Evan and Eric stay involved and oversee the center with high standards. They are visionaries for addiction treatment to be customized for each person. Words cannot express how impressed I am with all aspects of Multi Concept Recovery. It's so much more than a program that works--which it does. It's about the experience and insight and dedication of Eric, Evan and the team. Tremendous staff! Very accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process. Both group and individual therapy really helped treat my views on addiction. The counselors guided me with a positive outlook and really opened my eyes to a new way of living! When my insurance gave out on me the owners made sure I was still able to continue and complete the program with such a sincere supportive attitude. Went here when they first opened doors a little over a year ago. I completed the program and have been sober 17 months. They offer so many different schools of thought on addiction and recovery from 12 step to emotional intelligence to meditation and neurofeedback.
