This doctor and practice almost killed me on several occasions. I have been a client for 7 years and I'm as broken as ever. Their operation is that the Dr oversees Nurse Practitioners where you literally get less than 15 minutes. Where half of the appt is rescheduling and filling meds. Their treatments have almost killed me on several occasions and their ideology is to just max you out in every med until your 300 lbs, depressed and suffering physical consequences while being as emotionally broken as ever. Avoid this practice at all costs, this is a quack operation. My biggest regret is not leaving after the first few years, and I'm glad I refused their last treatment which finally was the last straw for me because it was an especially inappropriate medication and downright dangerous for what I was in the Emergency Room for 4 days earlier. Very disappointed with this place. The way they handled my mom's emergency. I couldn't believe a dr's office would be so careless.

It seems after covid the front desk staff changed dramatically. I would have to call for several days before anyone answered the phone just to make an appointment. The final straw was when they were entering my name incorrectly (I have an apostrophe in my last name) and telling me that my insurance would not cover my visits. It got to the point that my insurance carrier called them with me on the line and insisted that I was covered and they were in network, I also provided a letter of proof of coverage and they STILL told me that I would be financially responsible if I kept my appointment and canceled it when I said I wasn't comfortable with that given I had proven I had insurance. Mind you this is the same insurance I had used for years with them. Because this carried on for weeks, I ran out of medication and reached out to my doctor who did not care and did not help at all. My psychiatrist passed away recently, and it was difficult finding another psychiatrist. I found Dr. Javaherian's office through Blue Shield. I had an appointment with NP Arianne Saden a month ago. She is very patient, listens, and is proactive. Today, I had a doxy follow-up meeting--like a Zoom meeting. I clicked on the incorrect provider, Dr. Javaherian's link--the first one that was listed, thinking it would get me through to Arianne Saden. I even screenshot while I was waiting, just in case I needed to prove I was on time. I was waiting and waiting, trying to remain calm. Lol. Then I went back to the text link that was sent yesterday and scrolled down and saw that Arianne's link was a few providers below Dr. Javaherian's. I also looked at my screenshot photo, and I was waiting in Dr.Javaherian's que. This was the mistake I made, and I was frustrated. I clicked on Arianne's link, and she suggested I reschedule. I am new to video appointments, as I am accustomed to seeing providers in person. I called the office to reschedule, and I got in for an afternoon appointment. The person who helped me was very understanding and offered to waive my no-show appointment. I was really there on time for my video appointment, but just clicked on the incorrect link, and left a message at the office at 8:05 am, after having issues getting on via Google messaging. I hope they can wave that fee. If you do have a video appointment, make sure to click on the correct provider and call the office ASAP if you're having issues. read more

At first, I loved this place. Shant was very welcoming and helped me with my needs. However, I'm giving this place a 1 star because of their follow up poilicy. According to them, a follow up is no more than 15 minutes (or else you would be charged more for your time) if I knew that, I wouldn't waste my time in my room talking about an actor that shant saw in the office, this has nothing to do with my current health! They take advantage of the clients, this medical place needs to let their cleints know how long follow ups are and if we are in there for longer than 15 minutes they should let us know in the room if we'd like to go into overtime. Do not come to this location, if you do, be prepared for a lot of hidden fees. I'm very disappointed, I won't be coming back! I came back four years later with a specific issue that I reached out numerous times prior to make sure it could be accommodated. They told me the nurse read my paperwork after my appointment not before. When I called to discuss my dissatisfaction they were rude as hell and argumentative. They just wanted a quick insurance bill avoid this place at all costs. They also blocked my phone number which I'm not sure is legal as they were my current provider. also all they did at the appointment was push pills. Dr. Javaherian is an airhead, to say it kindly. I was taking 4x7.5mg Remeron for the last 6 weeks under her care. In our last session Dr. Javaherian was debating that this medication comes in that dosage (She forgot or didn't know, how I don't know, because she had prescribed it). So after this conversation she'd agreed to write the script as we'd discussed. To my surprise, when I picked up the medication, I saw that she had written the prescription for 1 tablet instead of 4 tablets. Then I called the office (she got back to me in 3 days) saying that I will have to take the 1 pill until I see her next. What professional and caring psychiatrist does this to a patient? It is problematic to change a prescription abruptly like this without a proper taper. On top of it she knew that I have sleeping issues and her mistake would cost me sleepless nights. But she obviously didn't take the time to look at her notes how she'd prescribed the medication previously. Do not see this doctor. She doesn't care for the wellbeing of her patients. read more

Although I've been pretty happy with Dr. Shant and the treatment I have been receiving with him, the front desk staff is very disappointing. A couple of weeks ago, I went to the office to submit some paperwork to be filled out by a woman named Nancy. I told the initial woman that I gave the paperwork to that I hadn't finished filling out all of the forms completely and that I would like to be called when the doctor's portion was completed so that I could come to pick them up. She said that she would make note of this. I assumed that the forms would be filled out within a few hours, but when I called later in the evening, I was told that they were not ready yet and they would call me when they were. I waited a couple more days, and when I didn't receive a call, I decided to follow-up. I was told that it would take a couple of days for the forms to be filled out. Although I was frustrated, I obliged, and told the receptionist again that it was important for me to pick them up to finish filling them out. She asked me if I would like for them to call me when they were ready to be picked up, and I said yes. A week passed and I still had not heard from them, so I called again. This time I was told that the forms had been filled and mailed out. I was shocked and upset and explained to the woman that I had requested multiple times to pick up the paperwork because I needed to finish filling out some forms myself. When I explained this, I was simply told that I would receive a call back from Nancy in a few minutes when she finished checking in a patient. This didn't happen, and instead, I waited almost another week before I had a chance to go to the office physically in order to speak with someone. Even when I arrived, the two receptionists treated my concerns indifferently, and instead, simply printed out a copy of the paperwork to give to me before basically sending me on my way and saying to call if I had any questions. I left quietly because I didn't want to cause a disturbance, but I am VERY upset at how I was treated. And on top of that, I was told on several instances that I would be charged $30 for the paperwork to be filled out, and will be very upset if I check my bank records and see any transactions for that amount considering the office couldn't even be competent enough to follow a simple request made MULTIPLE times. It's unfair and not right. In addition to having to wait weeks to have the forms filled out, I'll have to wait several more weeks for things to be sorted out since the forms I needed to complete on my own were detrimental to making sure a medical claim I was trying to have processed went through smoothly. I cannot stress enough how dissatisfied I am and will be looking to switch to a new specialist's office very soon. read more

I saw this provider a few years ago when I was going through a severe depression. She never seem to be listening to what I was saying. I've always had issues with my mother and never felt loved by her. Now with grown children, I sometimes feel unloved by them. when I mentioned this to her, she said "every child loves their mother". I've never really felt close to my mother, so that was a inappropriate thing to say. Also, during one session, I was very upset and crying and she said "our session is over you have to leave. I have to breast-feed my baby" she could've at least waited until I had stopped crying until she kicked me out of her office. Needless to say, I never went back. read more

It is very difficult finding counselors and psychologist's these days due to the Pandemic, large increases of homeless, job losses, depression increases, and suicides etc. Let alone find a psychiatrist and zeroing in on the medication/s which might be right for you. If any. Maybe just Group Therapy might work? I wish my cousin had chosen this route vs taking his own life, He just wrote a FB suicide letter and he was gone 1 hour later. Darn sad. This doctor operates a dishonest practice, where you are being tempted by her name but in practice get to schedule an appointment with an assistant (they tell that the doctor "doesn't work so much nowadays" - quote). The assistant was dressed like he just got out of bed, kept giggling and laughing throughout the entire session and also made some uncomfortable comments. When I wrote to the doctor's front desk who scheduled the appointment and asked to pass my complaints to the doctor - no one bothered to answer. Dr. Javaherian has been treating my son for approximately 5 years now, for a combination of ADHD and severe anxiety that was debilitating enough to be mistaken for autism when he was younger. Dr. J has been a great advocate for our son, working with him when he was younger and still now that he is a teen (although she doesn't generally work with children often anymore) to express himself and be an active participant in his own treatment. She is willing to listen to him when he describes how he feels on and off the medications, and was so helpful when he experienced unexpected side effects when we tried a new course of medications over a summer. In addition to listening to my son, she is personable and makes an effort to remember events happening with our family, always asking about my husband and our other child. She is very straightforward- she will tell you honestly if something is outside her scope, or if she thinks you would be better served by therapy than medication. This willingness to acknowledge her limits is what leasd us to trust her in the beginning, and 5 years later we are still happy to work with her. read more

Best care for people struggling with their mental health. Dr. Javaherian is very easy going, does her due diligence and offers the best supportive care. She can assess individuals with problems to innumerable degrees with complete compassion and understanding. She is complying and works to get the best results and goes out of her way for her patients care. Dr. J really knows her stuff and doesn't leave her patients out. I was able to explain to her and her NP that I've practically tried every pill out there. My new cocktail of meds did the cure and voila I tried out something new and with her help and tweaking this for that I'm totally functional. I feel my best. The front desk staff is terribly rude and Dr. J has a very apathetic/uncaring "bedside manner". I'm not even going to go into the things she said, but I have no idea why she got into this line of work because I'm convinced it's not to help people. I'm someone that gives people the benefit of the doubt and did so the first couple of times, chalking it up to people having bad days, but when it became entirely too consistent that's when I left and found another doctor that has been super helpful and actually interested in her patients. The whole experience there was creepy. Don't go. You'll be better served going to a primary care physician. They can be really helpful and are trained in mental illness. Don't go here. I think you may just be dollar bills to them. PS- I should mention that Nicole was fine- helpful in explaining everything. I believe she's the nurse practitioner and works for Dr J. She should break away and do her own thing, or work under a different Dr. Also, the front desk will schedule you with Dr J even if you are being seen by Nicole... not sure why. I never use this word, but the the front desk people are "MEAN" ... really super disrespectful. Maybe they see mental health as a stigma? I visited this woman in 2015 and the experience has haunted me since. While cleaning out my emails today I found her info popping up and decided I needed to speak my peace about that interaction because it has still effected me heavily and is the story I tell people every time I have conversations about why I like my current therapist and what you need to watch out for. If you want someone to use offensive and insensitive language while you are at your lowest then this is the doc for you. If you want someone to listen to less than a minute of why you're at the appt and INTERRUPT you to say, "I don't need to hear the rest of your story to know what your PROBLEM is..." as she then practically throws an antidepressant Rx at you and proceeds to spend the remaining hour being cold and unfeeling while barely looking up from her computer, than be my guest. If you want a therapist to listen to you, guide you through your decision making and help you come to your own conclusions in the process while safely helping you process your trauma...then I suggest doing your research but definitely don't go to this awful woman. They listen to my concerns, are open to trying alternatives, and seem to know what they're doing. However, my issue with this office is with their scheduling. A few appointments, including my very first, have felt a big rush, and on a few occasions I have had 30+ minute waits. I have been going to Dr. Javaherian for 5 years now! She has truly helped me and took extra care when prescribing the right medications. She has always been caring, professional, responsive and makes you feel at ease. She has never been dismissive or condescending like you hear about with other Dr's. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes when I had an appointment and even if I did have to it wouldn't be so bad because her office has such a peaceful and calm feeling. Wonderful, understanding doctor. Quick and painless diagnosis and always responds extremely quick to emails. She is very knowledgeable and just wants what's best for your health. My insurance no longer covers my visit but I wouldn't think of going to anybody else. Without insurance it's $100 for a visit. Totally worth the money for the peace of mind. I have only been a patient of Dr. Javaherian's for a few months - and after multiple attempts of leaving messages, and sending emails to follow up on my treatment - I have received no response from anyone at this office. I sent the email as per the instruction ofDr. J, and when attempting to call - the line is busy, I get a voicemail, and/or I am never called back. I am obviously in need of psychiatric help - as I went to this office for a reason - but apparently there are issues too small for this physician. If you want to feel like a priority, go somewhere else. AND - if you have issues with meds or side affects, don't expect her to do anything about it. read more

Love Dr. J. She truly cares and listens and is human and doesn't push meds and in fact is supporting me in weaning off. She thinks outside the box and I did TMS with her which seems to have helped. I want to begin with how I have never had an issue before with this office. I have the best psychiatrist there is Nicole D. She is sensational and always helpful. Nicole was able to help me with my OCD after years of misery and finding me the right medicine to be on. I recommended this office to my brother whom suffers from Bi Polar disorder. When he went his psychiatrist put him on medication that enhanced his bi polar disorder and would disregard when he needed to speak after he had detrimental breakdowns. Then my brother needed to be put on disability because his bi polar disorder and distress became even more severe. Today I called the office on his behalf because he had tried getting ahold of them to finish his disability paperwork due today. I was met with an unbelievable attitude telling me how his paperwork can't be done because the girl who does paperwork isn't in and when I stressed the importance of it being done today she said how it can't be done that fast. Yet it's been months he's been on disability and they have known about this deadline and still didn't get it done. Then she requested to speak with my brother where she started to threaten she will charge him to do his disability paperwork because they can charge him if they want to since they are a private practice and that they have been waiving it but will not anymore because she couldn't do his paperwork today and we kept insisting. Basically if you keep bothering then we will charge you. We wouldn't have to insist if they would have stayed on top of it in the first place. I'm very upset with the treatment we received and I honestly am so shocked I've always had a pleasant experience. After this experience I want my brother to look elsewhere he had a breakdown after the phone call. I understand this lady might have been frustrated but with people struggling with mental health they need to have people who are capable of having patience and empathy. She may have not been able to help today but at least have compassion with the patient whom is stressed. If you are going to see Nicole I definitely recommend her she's the best psychiatrist but the people who are at reception definitely deter patients. Awful. My psychiatrist left this group to go back to private practice. I decided to stay for insurance reasons. MISTAKE. Calling will always result in a message to send a text or email. The office person who responds is robotic, lacks comprehension and has no sense of prioritization or urgency. I ended up assigned to a PNP who, more than a year later, still had no familiarity with me and couldn't recall a single aspect of the prior, or any other, session. Obviously, taking 2 minutes before an appointment to review my chart was too great a burden. The same prescriptions I've been on for 15 years were a source of confusion every single time. When I began to experience difficulty getting my prescriptions filled, they acted like the situation was news to them and were annoyed by requests for suggestions and help. When I finally voiced these frustrations that were causing a decline to my mental and physical health, I was cut off to be told I had 2 minutes remaining. This was during my usual 15 minute monthly session; although my insurance company was billed for 60 minutes. They are churning up to 4 patients an hour, per provider, for money. Money is the only concern this office shows; it certainly isn't toward the betterment your mental health and well-being. read more

Dr. Javaherian is very upfront and knowledged. What I like about her most is she actually talks to you understand you and then tells you what is a good way to treat your symptoms. This review is not about dr Javaherian , since thanks to her secretary I've never got a chance to meet her and she just canceled my appointment ! I schedule an appointment with her on Zocdoc and someone from her office called me 3 days after to confirm the appointment , I told her I am at work and I can't speak but she kept asking questions and said I need to email them a copy of my insurance + some additional info that I said I will send to her ! Then she asked for my CC info and I told her that I will send my insurance info and if they accept my insurance I will call back and give them my CC info ( it's the first time a Dr office asked me for my CC Info ) but anyways I told her if they accept my insurance I will give it to them but instead of any answer she said ok so it means you want to cancel your appointment ! I told her No , I can not talk right now and need to call her in a better time to see what is going on and why I have to give my credit card info and she said no if you don't give your credit card info we have to cancel your appointment and I can try to book another appointment later !!! So just like that she canceled my appointment and I just received an e-mail from Zocdoc saying sorry that I had to cancel my appointment I did my researches when I choose this dr but I am sure because of her employees and the way they are dealing with people I will never try to book another appointment with them ! read more
