When I worked in downtown Bay City, this was one of my favorite places for lunch! Their burgers are to die for!

Never thought I would say these words, but I liked my food better at Bennigans... The service was alright, a little slow for a slower Sunday night. It's got a "small town bar" feel to it so the atmosphere is relaxed and low-key, which is about the only real thing this place has going for it. I ordered the Monte Cristo and my boyfriend ordered a standard burger. The first hitch was that they were out of French fries (I've NEVER heard of a bar running out of fries before), but they offered onion rings or cole slaw as a substitute (which were already side options with our meals, so they didn't really offer anything to make up for being out of fries which sucked since that's what I was looking forward to). My boyfriend said his burger was okay, but that he's had much better. As for my Monte Cristo, it was passable at best. One of the best parts of that sandwich is dipping it in raspberry jam, which I didn't get to do. They brought one packet of strawberry jelly and one packet of grape jelly to smear on the top and called it good. I'm talking about the packets that you find on the table at breakfast places that contain enough to put on one piece of toast, if that. Come on! So basically I had a french toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a little jelly on top. It was pretty disappointing. Monte Cristos from Bennigans are 100x better by far! I had such high hopes for this place - it looked like it could be a hidden gem in the sea of chain restaurants in Bay City, but I was let down. I might stop in again for a beer with friends or something, but I probably won't ever come back for food. First time here. It's a comfortable "Bar and Grill" old place in Bay City. Service makes up for their slower speed by being very nice and friendly. Offering good suggestions for their surprising good food - the draw of their great Bar-Burgers are what made us come here. Having finished the burger, it lives up to it's reputation. One thing of note: with a name like Mulligan's Pub, how could they not have Guinness on tap? read more

We ended up heading a Mulligan's last night as a last minute decision. We had a party of 9 and were celebrating my daughters 16th birthday with family in the area. I believe we ordered every app on the menu and they were all delicious. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic and went out of her way to make sure we had a great experience. The bar tender Eric was also celebrating his birthday and came to our table as our sweet waitress had the entire bar sing happy birthday to them. He then gave my daughter the best advice she may ever get. "Cherish these moments and always spend them with those you love most" The food, service, and atmosphere in this place was fantastic! Mulligan's Pub - American Near Me - Bay City, Michigan

Passing through Bay City looking for a place to eat. Didn't see anything I really liked on the menu so I ordered soup and half of a sandwich. There must have been a miscommunication because they brought me a full sandwich and soup. When I asked about it they demanded I pay full price for both the cup of soup and a full sandwich. What was supposed to be a $5 bill quickly turned into a $9 bill. Not returning. read more

Wandered in from the hotel, not expecting much, but had a great sandwich! The beer was cold and nice selection. Very busy on a Thursday night but I was well taken care of. Enjoy the atmosphere. read more

I like Mulligan's! I've never eaten here, but I've always had a good time at the bar. Drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is really friendly. I've always been impressed with the fact that: A: Waitresses come to the tables at all hours and B: They continue to be friendly and have good service Best of all the place is cheap! Love that! The couches up front are definitely the primo seats and the TVs have Mario Kart! Talk about a great place to end the night! read more

First time here....liked the cozy feel and atmosphere...cool and historic little building. Service was great...no complaints. I agree with the reviewer that no Guinness on draft was a surprise, but there were several other decent options available. Food was good...not spectacular but nothing to complain about. We split wings and nachos. Overall a pretty solid four stars...the only negative I recall was the requisite 'loud guy' sitting at the bar. Stopped on our way to Burt lake for lunch. Wanted to eat outside but wind was blowing and down right chilly. Was ok sitting inside / tables spaced Anyway Taylor was our server and she was awesome Sandwiches were great. Very fresh. I had the bistro and husband had the Mulligan. Just got here after stopping next door drinking warm drafts. The beer here is nice and cold. A dive bar atmosphere at its best. This isn't some yuppie millennium bar. It's definitely local with great 80's music. read more

Went here for the first time today (visiting a friend town) and honestly should've just gone to McDonalds instead of eating the trash burger I received. It was so nasty my dog probably wouldn't eat it & he eats toilet paper. 10/10 would not recommend at all. Also the server was rude until she realized she was being rude, but by that point in time her tip already took a great hit. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WASTE MONEY!!! read more

My husband and I went here hoping to get a nice after dinner drink. Sadly, we were greeted with rude stares and no drinks at all. We waited at the bar for 10 minutes before leaving. Unbelievable. One star and only because you can't give zero stars. I would recommend changing your bartenders or actually pay attention. read more

Looking for something quick for dinner after a long day and went to one of our favorite locations.. Love this local bar! Not over crowded but a decent amount of patrons. Friendly staff from when you walk in until you leave. A few obvious regulars at the bar - think of Norm sitting at the end of the bar. Tuesday is $2 off Burgers - YUM. read more

We stopped in as we were touring around downtown. It's a bar with food but many times you can find some great offerings here. We got the food and it was Okay. I wasn't expecting high quality but I expected a bit better. Really the biggest turn off was cook/wait staff arguing loudly in the back over non sense. Likely would have been a better visit had we come at night and consumed drinks before eating. read more

Went here for the first time tonight and really enjoyed it. First, the wait staff was very attentive without being awkward or overbearing. The food was delicious and priced really well. I got a super nacho, and let me tell you, that thing was huge! It had tons of toppings and at least enough for two people (and I am a big eater) at only $8.50. With my hubby's burger and fries and drink, or bill was only about $18. Can't beat that for a dinner. Will definitely go here again. read more

Waitress was great. The bar tender was not. Way to busy and way to stressed out to give the attention needed to her consumers. Been here quite a few times as their Long Islands are normally great here. We came here tonight and they were terrible. I could have gotten something else for almost $8. Food was good but the drinks were disappointing to say the least. read more

Very friendly small town pub feel. The service was fast and very friendly. I had the teriyaki chicken sandwich and it was awesome! The sauce is a bit spicey, but it goes great with the sweet pineapple. Two thumbs up...I just wish I wasnt working so I could have a beer in the giant frosty mugs they use. read more

This restaurant/bar is conveniently located just 1 1/2 blocks from the Doubletree Hotel where I was staying. The food is pretty good: I had a delicious turkey sandwich and my friend had a steak that he enjoyed. Beer and food prices are very reasonable. The decor of the bar is nice and is pretty clean. Fun hangout. Service is always great. The dagwood is a great sandwich. Lots of cool antiques hanging on the wall.

the food was fairly decent, I got the BBQ chicken burger which was delicious. The place itself is slightly dingy and the bathroom is not the most clean. The place has character and a unique look to it. The staff seemed decent but when I paid with a credit card my server went off on a long rant about getting my identity stolen. read more

Hamburgers were char-broiled and tasty, lots of booths, and nice friendly service. Lots of locals you could tell - prices were low - good simple pub food: potato skins, sandwiches, burgers & salads. Fit the bill for lunch today, we all enjoyed our first visit. read more
