It looks more strip mall than Irish Pub, but the larger than life Guiness advertisement in the front window is sure to guide you to the right place. Once inside, the place opens up to dining seating on the left, and bar seating on your right. Beautiful wooden floors and furniture give this space a warm, cozy and authentic feel. The bartender was friendly and quick with our food and drink. My husband had the mozzarella sticks, and I had the fried portabella mushrooms. Both were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The mushrooms pieces, as should be expected, were of good size. Both starters were served with marinara sauce. This unassuming place is great for friends, couples and families. read more

New to Franklin so we went to check it out. The bar is classic with amazing wood used for walls and booths. Our server was great. I had the chicken fried chicken dinner and my mate had the corned beef and cabbage. My plate was perfectly cooked, the breading just lacked some seasoning. I usually do not order a meal with mixed vegetables because they are grossly overcooked. The vegetables here were near perfect for me. The plate of corned beef and cabbage was nicely prepared. My husband and I were looking for a new place here on the south side to try out a fish fry for a Friday night. A coworker recommended Mulligans so we thought we would check it out, I love the online ordering option, it's easy to use and you can customize your order decently well. We both ordered their fisherman's platter with a different potato side. When we went there to pick up our order the place was really hopping, parking lot was completely full, they had a 20 minute wait for new customers for dine in seating, and they had a about 30 to go orders ready for pick up. Pretty good indicator that this is a local favorite. My husband loved everything, said it was perfect pub food. I thought the fish was good as well, personally I might choose a different batter for it, but it wasn't bad. Popped in for lunch on a Friday. Mulligans for years has been our go to spot for a fish fry, their patio and the Friday chef's specials. It has probably been six months or more since our last visit, and we won't bother coming back. The food was good, no complaints there. Service on the other hand was slow and sloppy. Our waiter, who was a little too nonchalant, was prompt taking our order, but the wait for a lunch time was way too long. The Ruben soup was great as usual, but the rye bread croutons were soft and stale. My wife's wrap was good, but there weren't enough fries for my fish fry, so I had to wait on them. Who runs out of fries when you're serving a fish fry? And do you know how frustrating it is to see part of your lunch sitting in the service window and it isn't coming to you? Other staff walked by, but no one jumped in. I was happy at least to see that the men's room had been upgraded since I last used it, but the sticky floor under our booth could be addressed. Had dinner with my parents here last night..... I had the corned beef sandwich and potato soup. The potato soup (which was brought out first and not with my meal, even though I ordered it as a side) had one solid cube of potato in it and tasted like hollandaise sauce mixed with nacho cheese. The crackers that were brought out were also stale as ever. I was surprised that my sandwich came out with melted cheese but...the bread was not toasted? The overall result was soggy and weird. The bread was itself half way to stale. The corned beef was also dry/not juicy whatsoever. My dad got the same sandwich as me and enjoyed it, but he is passionate about this place and loves the Irish vibes. His fries were good tbh. My mom got the boneless wings. They had wayyyy too much breading and barely any meat. She was emotionally struggling to find one scrap in those nuggets. Two stars because the server was nice. My parents enjoyed the playlist they were playing. The beer I got was good. Overall......meh dinner. So far, it's typical sports bar feel with a restaurant on the side. A lot of older folk no young 20s at all. Came here for a last minute date night with my gf. Staff friendly and welcoming Waitress is on point, perfect timing. Alcohol was strong for both me and my significant other. So bartender no so strong but sometimes the directions just include a lot of booze. Since I've been a bartender in the past. Gf got chilli soup, spicy but delicious !! As much as I am a foodie and I would like to choose the restaurant I have to let my friends pick them and my buddy said that has heard good things about this place and wanted to go here for lunch so we went. This is a typical bar/restaurant with a bar on the right as you walk in and a dining room on the left with tables/chairs and booths. I don't know if this is a C19 thing but the booths are uncomfortable 90 degree seating with like high plywood backs and all hard wood surfaces like a third world country. The menu is typical bar food with pizza, wings, burgers, apps, sandwiches, dinners etc. We had no service issues and we were seated and menued promptly and put in a drink order. I would have a spicy Bloody Mary and my buddy had a strawberry margarita, my spicy Bloody Mary was not very good because it had a sweetness and my buddy didn't care for the strawberry margarita which he said our last place had better margaritas. I ordered the Santa Fe burger which is pico de gallo, pepper Jack cheese, avocado, bacon and chipotle mayo with a cup of Ruben soup. The Rubin soup was disappointing because I was expecting the elements of a Ruben sandwich like sauerkraut, Russian dressing and Swiss cheese but it was chunks of tender corn beef in a thick white cream sauce with celery and tomato's. My Santa Fe burger was cooked perfect rare but just like the soup it looked better than it tasted because the beef meat patty didn't have a beef flavor or any grill flavor so the bacon and guacamole were flavors that I was tasting, it tasted like a commercial unseasoned frozen patty. My buddy said his shepherds pie was good and even grabbed a mushroom Swiss burger to take home for his wife but I said the burgers look better than they taste. Overall I thought that my lunch was average with better burger options around but I'm still going try all the restaurants I can good or bad and who knows if I ordered the wings or the Ruben sandwich this review could have been different. read more

Man Mulligan's, I like the place it's just always missing the mark. I used to love the vegetarian chili there. First had it at the chili contest at Potawatomi. Even though it was veggie, man it was my favorite of ALL the chili's! When it's the winter season, I remember it. Last visit on lunch break with a co-worker I was sure to order it. Last year when I had it, it was not served cold, so I was sure to say "Please make sure it's hot". Which, it's kind of sad when stuff has to get reheated... it just doesn't always taste the same. And it was bad this last time. The texture was like chalky and more like gritty. I don't know if it's the process of making it, freezing it, reheating it that changes the texture, but it was not good. I'll probably never even order it anymore. Just another let down at Mulligans. Too bad, there are not a ton of places to eat out this way, but I've been going to Mulligans less and less. My tried and true is the steak salad, guess I'll stick with that if it's still on the menu. And at least it looks like they finally did shorten the menu down, it was an insane length before. The fried fish if probably fine. I don't know, I feel like everything a restaurant puts on the menu should be good, or it shouldn't have a place at all. That's not asking too much when you're a restaurant. The corned beef sandwich is even better than any deli prepared sandwich. There's plenty of meat, on a good tasting rye bread. The provolone cheese is a very nice addition. The Friday Fish Fry is tailor made to everyone's wishes. For instance, you can have Haddock, Walleye, Lake Perch and Bluegill prepared baked or breaded. If you're a beer battered fish lover, that's available with Haddock and Walleye. During 2020, I choose to only order take out, but I've heard positive comments from younger friends, about the indoor and outdoor dining. read more

Good place for fish and chips. They have this Early Bird Special, where they use fresh Haddock, very delicious! It was served with the potato pancakes, which were little on the saturated grease side, but hey, that's how some potatoes pancakes are, they soak up everything, but it was flavored properly. Accompanied with some good cole slaw and homemade tar tar which was perfect for dipping that crispy coating of beer battered fish! MM..MMM it was good. However, I have to say that our server was really nice, but she didn't come back to our table until the end of our lunch, I wanted a refill and dessert, but we simply couldn't find her. When we did find her, she was super busy taking everyone's order. I did come here during peak lunch hour, 2 times now, and the will need some help to accommodate the customers. What did the fisherman's wife say when she wasn't in the mood? "Not tonight dear, I have a haddock." One of the best pseudo-Irish pubs in the Milwaukee Area, the best in the south suburbs. Very close to the Drexel I-94 exit. I love the travel photos on the wall near where I was sitting. Guiness on tap is American-cold, not Irish cool, so don't get your hopes up. Still Guiness stout in a pint glass is just the beverage for fish and chips. The fish part of their fish and chips is very good - beer battered never-frozen haddock. The chips part isn't right, instead of hand cut potato fries, they've serve beer batter French fries which are a bit too greasy and salty to go with the more Irish style fried fish. And the default is cole slaw, potato pancakes with apple sauce (not sour cream), you know, traditional Wisconsin fish fry. Just know what you're going to have and you'll have a four or five star Friday dinner. Although there is some diversity of age here, their core clientele are upwards of middle age so there's an early evening peak time. Lots of medium size tables, it's a great atmosphere for a group of friends. By far their best dish is not served in a dish, the beef stew comes to your table in a delicious bread bowl on a plate. Like everyone else, they are a little short handed but the waitstaff they do have are very good. Prices are very reasonable. Parking lot is often full, and remember the clientele demographics...lots of gray and balding vehicle operators driving SUVs that are too large for them and they don't look backwards when reversing. GOOD FOOD BUT BAD SERVICE LACK OF COMMUNICATION NOT VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY POOR MANAGEMENT Hate having to give it a 2 because food was good and we got a deal showing up by chance during happy hour. Gave us an opportunity to try some of the different apps. Enjoyed them all except maybe the sliders. A slider should be a well prepared mini burger. Well what they did was cut a burger patty in quarters and put the oddly shaped slider patty on four mini buns. Cheese was dry plasticky looking by the time it hit the table but they were nicely plated. I packed those up for the pups. I also ordered a wine for 3.00 that was a happy hour special. We all know the reason we often day drink is because we can drink for a bargain. Well it ended up being 7.50 on my bill. At the end I was discounted 2 dollars! That makes it 5.50 not 3.00!?!? Someone's math is off. I noticed a few other items seemed to be incorrect when I got my bill and part of the reason they got a 2! We ordered a half price app (chicken wings) that ended up being full price because the price of chicken is high now... not communicated to us when we ordered. Their full price apps have a symbol in front of the name if they aren't part of their happy hour promotion. Um the wings did NOT. Management said it was listed on menu that they aren't part of the deal. She grabbed her reading glasses and dramatically pulled out a Menu and checked. "Oh it should be on there but your server knows". She agreed she should have told us but did NOT correct my bill and simply told me it's been like that for six months and she couldn't do anything. Oh well attitude is not good customer service in anyones eyes. My last bill item is going to hit home with the veggie people who accompany their families to places that aren't very vegetarian friendly. They think if they offer a veggie patty that they are some how meet the need. Mulligan's lack of understanding of how it works is SAD! My daughter ordered a Sante fe burger and substituted the beef with a veggie patty. No bacon please. She hasn't eaten meat for the last 12 years. Well it of course it made it to the table with bacon. Honest mistake. Before we sent it back we told the server she needs a new one it's contaminated and she can't eat this one. She served the same burger again within minutes without the bacon. Ummm not good! It went back again after we salted the patty so they wouldn't re-serve it to us a third time. The new one took at least 30 minutes. We all ate drank and were full. No refills on water or drinks by the way. It was served with the same cold fries. No cheese no tomato no pico de gallo and forget the ranch she asked the server for twice. My daughter didn't eat! She packed up her cold undressed burger and fries. She asked for the pico and ranch for her now "to go" order. The server either forgot but we didn't press it because she noticed her discontent and said she had discounted it from the bill. That was decent of her. Well that was a LIE!!! We thought it was discounted at first. As I reviewed the 132 bill (to give you an idea that we weren't being shy about eating and trying a new restaurant) I was surprised they charge an extra 4.00 for a veggie patty on a 13.50 burger. 17.50 for a Sante fe veggie burger! Wow!! Our server didn't tell us it was an extra 4 dollars but she took it off so I didn't think I had a right to complain. But I will complain because it was on the bill twice and discounted once. Check this out... I was told not only by the server but management that they put it on the bill twice because it was returned and had to be reordered. So they discounted the second one. Really?? I don't know what language they speak at Mulligans but that's not a discount! Who pays twice for something returned to the kitchen??? Outcome... I was overcharged and left Mulligan's disappointed. I debated on writing this but 12 hours later what was supposed to be great family meal still bothers me. Maybe writing this will get management to open their eyes to all the in and outs of running a business. Lack of training your staff means you need to take ownership. Servers represent Mulligans when they come to the table and deal with customers. Your business shouldn't be allowed to shrug your shoulders and collect money that is not owed to you. This is half-way between a friend and me, so we have met here 3 times now. Very consistent Irish pub. Service has been good. Not too rushed, but they are attentive. Good Irish fare with a great selection. That's probably the best part. The selection at the bar as well as the food. The salads are always fresh and fill you up at lunch. I've had the wings, not very Irish - but they are a go-to item for me. They were good but not five star. The breaded pickles are good. I had the riblets (ribs) and I loved them. Great fish fry! I tried this place as I had seen it was an Irish Pub. I have tried it several times. On a whim I tried the fish fry. Wow! It was excellent! You can choose the type of potatoes (I recommend the Colcannon potatoes which are fancier mashed potatoes) but the fish itself is tasty. I also really loved the Irish Poutine! I will be back to try even more things if I can get past ordering this great fish fry. I want to try the burgers again as the first time my friend had one it was not as good as it sounded. It was ok but just not very interesting. Perhaps if we ordered differently? Definitely will try again and see if that makes a difference. Saturday night dinner with the family, and Mulligans had something for everyone! This place is hopping, and there was a short wait for a table at 6pm on a Saturday. To be expected, but the floor manager was still super apologetic and kept us up to date on table status. Great service. Your bar is to the right, and we were told there were $2 import drafts until 6pm. On a Saturday? NCAA game time! We ordered: -1/2 rack ribs, came with roasted veggies, the best asparagus, and a bowl of potato wedges that really weren't needed, but were yummy. -Whiskey-glazed salmon (a generous slab) with same roasted veggies, served on top of garlic mashed potatoes. -Turkey burger, got the thumbs up and the "I couldn't tell it wasn't a 'real' burger" compliment. Nice! -Ham and cheese sandwich. Dad, there's so much more on the menu! ;) -Pizza special of BBQ pulled pork, BBQ sauce and two cheeses, topped with cole slaw. This was my choice. A little too much cheese (I blame the suburban tastes of Milwaukee), but excellent. They did forget the cole slaw on the pizza, but our waitress happily took it back to the kitchen and righted the order. Service was on point, and everyone raved about their food. Went for a fish fry dinner. When it came time to pay the bill I presented a Restaurant.com certificate -- waitress said they were not currently honoring. The Manager said he is having a challenge resolving an issue with Restaurant.com and is not honoring the certificates until further notice. I argued with him and reminded him I paid for the certificate and I should not be penalized because of his issue with Restaurant.com. Also, I just bought 2 new certificates 2 days before this! He has a signed contract with Restaurant.com and hasn't told them not to sell anymore certificate for his business. really?! He just doesn't accept the certificate that I paid for when it comes time to settle up the bill. Also, they charge more if you use a credit card to pay your bill. I'm supposed to review the burger, but I'm afraid to say every time I go into mulligans, Irish pub and Grill. I order something Irish like Ruben soup or hamburger pie or a Reuben sandwich but always something Irish. That's what I crave when I go there. The service is top notch.
