I met some of the guys at a local fly fishing show and stopped to ask a few questions about the backpack that I wanted. They didn't have one at the show but knew every detail and answered all my questions. They ordered the Ridgeline for me from the show, it was less expensive than other vendors, they gave me a free Fishpond Pescador Fly box for buying a bag at the show, and the backpack was at my house a few days later. Bridgewater, Virginia is a very fine small college town. It's a superb place for kids to grow up…read morein. It's largely clean, though perhaps not as conscientiously so as it used to be. Shopping is limited, particularly when it comes to food/groceries, but what you can't find in the town is certainly just 3-4 miles away in Harrisonburg. Lots of good restaurants. Not the "best-looking" place (when you enter the north side of town, for instance, you're greeted by a huge factory, a large grave yard and a small trailer park) but the town appears to be slowly trying to create a nicer look. Good high school and middle school. The town is home to Bridgewater College. I can't think of anything negative to say about its effect on Bridgewater itself. The school boasts a very nice-looking campus and respectful students. Bridgewater has an amazing park system and people from all over the area use it. They even have a par 3 and a putt putt, which are free for town residents. Oftentimes you'll find more people from out of town using the parks than the actual residents. The biggest negative about Bridgewater is the incredible amount of traffic they fills Main Street from dawn to dusk. Tractor trailers are allowed on Main Street, which makes the situation even worse. It can be almost impossible to make a left turn at times and you'll see desperate drivers trying to dart out onto Main Street in front of others at all hours of the day. The traffic light system can be charitably described as quirky. The town enjoys a top notch police presence, fire department and rescue squad and the people who "run" the town seem to genuinely care about the job they do and the people they serve. Overall, I have to believe, despite the traffic situation, that Bridgewater is one of America's finer towns.

They told me the drive train was "worn out" and all the cables needed replacement. $500 of restoration work needed. As an engineer riding and maintaining bikes since 1980, I disagreed with the assessment. I have put 3 or 4 times that mileage on my Trek without wearing out the drivetrain. Not saying that they don't know what they are talking about! Just saying they won't get my business.​

They called several times to keep me in the loop for the status of the sale. Mark and Kevin 's customer service are first rate. I wished I lived close to the shop because the customer service I received would make me a regular customer. If you live close or far know that you will be taken care of. That being said, it's a difficult shop to purchase anything from as a new cyclist. Whether the staff tries to or not, the impression I often get is that those who purchase the "S-Works" models and products of a certain price range will receive more attention/respect for timing of repairs and builds. On top of that, my most recent purchase involved a delay of three or four days and an installation of a dropper post so poorly installed that the wiring frayed and detached itself after a seat adjustment of about four inches. I want to return to Rocktown someday because the selection is excellent, but things need to change. Until then, I highly recommend Bluestone Bike and Run.
