Since the Municipality Of Palmer Alaska took over…read morethe Golf course, they raised rates, and have almost no maintenance crews, some young people driving around in carts with rakes, not really working, no machines running , like grass mowers, fairways are turning into rough, with 1/64 to 1/16inch glacier silt in fairways, because of no watering as irrigation system not working, using the wrong machines, one used to blow fall leaves, no early work hours\ for crews if you call them that, they cannot get the water system running anywhere on the course, it is killing the greens and fairways, no maintenance crews with experience, a few young people doing almost nothing and no supervisors managing it in the field or they are incompetent as well. A total, fiasco and will get worse fast, but a positive note, if you have a hard time seeing you ball just look for then "Dust cloud radar" -- worst maintenance, best ball tracker. You gotta give it that much! Clouds fly and the ball skips down the faraway, carts covered in glacier silt dust , the golf bags, head covers, cart, towels, clothing, every thing and you have with you, so Golf there if you want everything you take there super dusty and needing to be washed an cleaned 100% after a round.
It Is Incompetent Palmer Ak Municipal disaster of a fine Championship Course now with a proven incompetent city board running it and the public told them, they did not listen and it is a joke of the courses now in Alaska...if you like, dirt, dust, dead brown greens, dead un-mowed roughs and fairways, play this course as it may now be the worse one in the USA.. play and see for your self, but bring a dust mask.
Vote the Palmer Alaska Board!!! They have not issued a Request For Proposal (RFP) To take it over and run it like it should be!
