We just completed a major remodeling project of our house with Mullan Enterprises. I recently hired Mullan Enterprises to essentially do a full condo remodel (we did a gut reno of kitchen, bathroom, removed a load bearing wall, installed new floors, and new plumbing/electrical. After speaking with 13 different contractors and speaking with the 5 top contenders' referrals, I was convinced that Damian and Mullan Enterprises was the contractor for me. As a first time home owner renovating in San Francisco, I wasn't sure what to expect, but Damian easily put my fears to rest and explained everything to me to ensure I knew what would happen in the process. I even pestered him the day before moving out to say "Are you sure there isn't anything else you need from me..." and he reassured me "Nope, you're in good hands, and the project will turn out great". Sure enough the project proceeded on pace and on schedule, like clockwork! Working with Damian was the best decision we've made for our whole-house renovation. Damian told me my large scale project kitchen and downstairs garage remodel should take about 5 months and it took exactly that! (despite delays in city permitting). One of the things that most attracted me to this business initially was that they work with a custom cabinetmaker for which the end product was fabulous and fit my space, at a cost that would have been similar to prefabricated or partial custom cabinets. This allowed me to design an island with a corner sink and get a very specific paint color I was fixated on for the island that was not on their palette but they matched for me to perfection. (see images) The responsive and care taken during the project was outstanding. Also, transparency was complete. I am a single female homeowner without a lot of home renovation experience I felt like I understood the process and was able to make choices along the way and understanding how that would affect the project cost. Extra care and favors were taken by Damian and his staff including making sure my food packages were received when I was not home while my kitchen was down, ensuring my pets had not gotten lost outside, and remounting my television after the renovation was complete. They also came back to fix a few minor imperfections that occurred after the install and gave me tips to protect my own self interest such as taking photos before the appliance store came for an installation in case any damage occurred. I am a very organized and efficient person and I could not believe at times they were waiting on me (due to backordered products etc). Choosing a contractor was an undertaking full of uncertainties and anxiety. Bidders proposed different solutions to the same problem, and estimates were difficult to compare. Ultimately, there was an element of gut feeling in the choice, and it gives me great satisfaction to know now that my gut was right when I chose Damian and Mullan Enterprises. My bathroom was a complete disaster from water leaks, dry rot and pest damage. It was necessary to remove and replace the entire floor system, joists and all, most of the interior walls, and to remove the stucco from the exterior wall and re-frame it. Permit approval was delayed due to Covid restrictions, and winter, rain and the holidays were approaching.
