This was not my first "go around" here (previously I purchased a used Mini Cooper JCW) but I am happy to report to you, my dearYelp review Readers, that purchasing my latest vehicle (a used Ford F-250 Super Duty Truck) was quite simply "a pleasure". I walked onto the lot not expecting to find a reasonably priced truck (ya...prices today are uncomfortably high...for everything, but especially for vehicles) and there she was...a "just reduced"white F-250 Super Duty Truck, waiting for me to find her. Actually...it was the Mullahey Ford Representative, Jim Beckman, who steered me in the right direction. Jim was exceptional...personable, knowledgeable, very "laidback", friendly and funny. Due to these qualities , our rapport was instantaneous. If you end up looking for a vehicle at this Dealership...find him...it will be worth your time! Within minutes of the introduction to this F-250...my family and I were on a test drive. Needless to say, it went very well. Getting back to the Dealership, Jim was all smiles and asked how the test drive went. I replied...well, it was okay (when in fact, it went fabulously). We both laughed...we also both knew...I wanted that truck! Before purchasing the truck, Jim allowed me to do my "due diligence" and let me take the vehicle to my local mechanic for a total inspection (nice!), which resulted in this F-250 Super Duty Truck getting a clean bill of health and the recommendation from my mechanic of..."at that price, BUY IT!" So....I did! Adrian in the Finance Dept., got me a decent rate for the small loan I needed after my down payment and the deal was done within 4 days (Saturday - Wednesday). The communication, regarding every step of the process was constant...I always knew what was going on. The few concerns that I had with the truck were taken care of, again...with a smile and I am delighted with my purchase. I have been shopping for a 2025 or 2026 Ford Maverick (Lariat Hybrid or Tremor) in Oxford White for a couple of weeks, so I know this market pretty well. Early on Monday, June 15, 2026, before the dealership opened, I came across a Facebook Marketplace listing for that truck, lightly used, at Mullahey Ford, priced at $28,840. Facebook showed the ad had been posted Sunday afternoon, and I contacted the dealer within about 22 minutes of their Monday opening -- so the vehicle was almost certainly still available. The salesperson, Charles, told me the deal was real and said he would follow up in about 30 minutes. I clearly confirmed I wanted to buy the truck at the listed price. When Charles called back roughly 30 minutes later, he said the vehicle had already been sold -- hard to believe given the dealership had been open only minutes. When I checked Mullahey Ford's own website, the same truck was (and still is) listed at $39,080. Charles described the $28,840 figure as an "internet error in pricing." I've heard about dealers using this tactic to get people in and claiming it's an inexplicable error. It's inexcusable, and according to Ai and the California DMV, Illegal. I understand pricing mistakes can happen. What concerns me is the sequence: an advertised price, a confirmation that the deal was "real," and then -- within half an hour -- both a claim that the vehicle was sold and the same truck still listed at a price more than $10,000 higher on the dealer's own site. The Facebook ad shows the truck as a 2025 and Lariat is misspelled as Lariet. The dealer website shows the same truck as a 2026 with Lariat spelled correctly. I compared the mileage, color, options, images and it's the same truck. Unfortunately, the dealer left the VIN out of the Facebook ad, but I was able to find the listing on their website. As a buyer acting in good faith, I found the experience disappointing and would caution others to get any advertised price confirmed in writing before relying on it or trusting the dealership. I am composing a complaint with the California DMV, as this seems to be a clear example of bait-and-switch. read more

Alignment was pretty bad as I had to rub out a libtard on a median strip who was trying to CHEAT and cut me off. Griffin was our repair agent and did a phenomenal job explaining the process. Want to give recognition to Mullahey Ford and Guillermo Martindelcampo, Service Manager for a great service experience. My 2021 Ford T-250 had a software update that Ford issued under CSP 24B39 https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11006853-0001.pdf They sent their mobile tech to my house and the work took about a half an hour. I then noticed acceleration at low rpm to be a concern over the next couple of weeks. I called back and Guillermo was able to see on his version of Ford Pass App that I had some misfiring happening on three different dates and wanted the vehicle in his shop to find out what was going on. He had it picked up yesterday around 9 AM and it was back in my driveway in Los Osos around 3 PM. Another software update to the Power Control Module resolved the performance issue I was having. This was all done under warranty. Mullahey Ford had previously done new rear brakes and transmission fluid change on my 2019 Ford Expedition and while this work wasn't under warranty, it was a very fair price (some local non-dealer shops were higher) and they gave me a ride home and picked me up the next day when the work was done. Really nice to see a family owned dealership still exists and treats people right! read more

I've had only positive experiences with this dealership. Bought a Maverick through them, and had a service appointment. Everyone I interacted with in sales and service departments appeared competent, honest, helpful, courteous, and friendly. Everything was done efficiently and correctly. Also, unlike some other dealerships in the area, these folks don't add any charges or unnecessary fees on top of MSRP, at least for new Mavericks, and they're also more flexible than others when it comes to service appointments. When I called to schedule the appointment, I was told I could wait or they did have a shuttle service AND they also had a courtesy pick up and delivery service. This is for their parts department. Well I was in Pismo and it was pouring rain. Not the best time to find out that your wipers are toast. I went to Orilleys and AutoZone and their wipers were going from anywhere between $15 and $45 EACH! When did wiper blades cost so much? I looked on Yelp and saw this was the closest Ford dealer so I called and spoke with Ron who advised they had my wipers in stock and were priced fairly. I drove there and they had them ready and waiting for me. Given these are Ford OEM wipers, I had some trouble installing them as they are not the easy hook ones. After several minutes of struggling, I approached two employees who immediately helped me out. This is a very small dealership and the parts department is well hidden in the back but every employee I ran into was professional and helpful. read more

STAY AWAY FROM MULLAHEY FORD!!! I took my van here 6 months ago to get an alignment done. When I got it back from the dealer, I noticed the steering wheel wasn't straight (angled to the right) and the van still didn't drive straight. So i drove it home and its been parked in the driveway until last Wed (7/8/20). I'm going on a family road trip up to Oregon and decided to take it to get re-aligned because I knew something wasn't right. Instead of taking it back to Mullahey, I decided to go to another Ford dealer (Paso Robles) to have them align it. I get a call from Paso Ford telling me they can't align it because the alignment cam (see picture) is damaged & had almost FELL OUT!!! WTF!?!?! This could have been really bad, I transport my kids in the van going up and down the grade... Apparently, the Mullahey Ford "technician/mechanic" forgot to tighten the cam down after he had aligned it. The alignment cam is suppose to sit flush on top of the upper part of the I-beam (directly on top of the ball joint)....and it's NOT. The alignment cam worked itself out on the drive home from the dealership, thank god it's been sitting in the driveway & not being driven since covid started. If the mechanics can't remember to tighten things down what they un-tightened, makes me wonder what other incompetent things have they done in the past to other vehicles. I purchased a Ford C-Max from Mullahey a few years ago. The sales process was actually pretty painless, including setting up financing. It's too bad that's not how they run the rest of the business. What a disappointment. Just recently, I brought it into the service shop after hearing a whine from the front of the car while driving at higher speeds. Based on past experience, I suggested they consider looking at the the front left wheel bearing when diagnosing. They kept the car for 7 hours (what!?!) to diagnose it. What did they recommend? REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. "it's definitely the transmission - we've had a few just this month already" I was shocked by this diagnosis and even more so when they ball-parked me a $5000 price tag for the job. Took it to anther mechanic for a second opinion, and guess what? It was a bad wheel bearing. $350 and the sound is gone. These scammers wanted to take me for $5000 and NOT fix the problem I was having despite me bringing it in and telling them where to look. I AM NEVER GOING BACK. NOT FOR SERVICE, NOT TO BUY A CAR. This dealer will take you for every penny they can squeeze out of you. If you get a good deal on buying a vehicle, take it and RUN. Avoid the service department at all costs. To start off, it was an extremely disappointing experience from the get go. I stopped by the Mullahey Ford here in Arroyo Grande, CA with my sister to help her check out the car she found online and really liked. The internet and fleet salesman, Charles Holden, that I can't even say helped us while we were in, had zero knowledge when it came to the questions we had about the 2018 Ford Expedition MAX 4dr 4x4 that he had just quoted us online. When asked a question his go to response was "I don't know". He had quoted a $23,777 discount on a 2018 Ford Expedition Max limited edition 4dr 4x4. When we showed him the quote he had sent us (see attached photo) he proceeded to back peddle and say this was all a mistake and that he didn't even have this vehicle in a 4x4. They only had a 4x2 and that even if they did have a 4x4 this quote was a mistake and that we essentially came in for no reason; like this was our mistake not his. I could not be more blown away by Charles Holden's unprofessionalism and this company's lack of attention to detail when it comes to sales and customer service. Mullahey Ford is the most dishonest car place I have ever dealt with. After having our car stolen with the key (and found but without key), I came her to have my key recoded by recommendation of the police. I called mullahey and asked if this was something they were able to do, they said yes and assured me that for $365(!!) the stolen key fob would no longer work. I took my car in the same day it was recovered and was so happy to have peace of mind that it could not happen again. Well 2 days later our car was stolen again using the old key fob. The men here lied to me, did not perform the service they assured me they did and I am out so much money from this! They then had the audacity after all this to tell my insurance company that I never asked for it to be recoded, simply an extra key made. THAT DOESNT EVEN MAKE SENSE. why would I just need an extra key after having mine stolen? I refuse to ever go here again and will be sharing this with everyone I know. One star is to many. This was the worst experience I have ever had purchasing anything. I bought a used 2017 F150 on Memorial Day weekend 2020. I had the vehicle for a month and a half, until July 9 2020. They called me and said that Capital One could not finance me. This is after having to go back and sign 3, yes THREE, new contracts. And numerous trips to get them more information. I was told by Greg the Sales manager that Capital One could not verify employment, then I was told by Adrian, the finance manager, Capital One could not verify income, then I was told that I lied on the credit application about my income by some guy named Dee, I have no idea what he does, but its even less than Adrian or Greg. After a month and a half of owning the vehicle Adrian called and said the financing fell through and I had to return the truck. During this time they kept sending out credit inquiries drive my credit score down quite a bit. I, for obvious reasons was pretty pissed off at this situation, and I let all three of these guys know that. They called me at 11 am, and at 5 pm, 6 hours later they sent a repo truck to take my vehicle that I had invested about $1500 in improvements. During the repo, the driver actually hit me with his truck, while backing up. I told him he hit me in the leg, but continued to drive away. The Sheriff had to get involved at this point. Now Adrian, Greg and Dee want me to pay $450 for the repo, about $600 for repairs to the truck, in which they wont provide proof of damage, or the money I spent on improvements.( lift kit and side rails, steps) The Sheriff Dept. took photos of the truck, showing NO DAMAGE to the vehicle. They also are charging me for mileage for the time I had the truck. And to this point Mullahey Ford still hasn't returned my $5000 down payment, or refunded the $360 I had to spent to get a second key. They only gave me 1 key. What really gets me upset is that they are treating me like a deadbeat and a criminal. Three weeks after all this, I went out and bought a new car, and I was financed by Capital One, the same company that Adrian the finance manger, Greg the sales manager and the third knucklehead, Dee, all said couldn't or wouldn't finance me. At the second dealer, I sign twice as many forms that Mullahey had me sign. This makes me think this was a scam of some sort. This entire situation cost them a sale, and my wife was gonna trade her 2015 F150 in for a new 2021 F150. My next step is to file a compliant with DMV, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I hope this helps someone else from being, what I feel, is some type of scam. read more

I have bought two Fords from Mullahey and had great experiences both times. They are a small dealership, but I think that makes you feel better about buying from them. When I traded in my old truck for a new Sport Trac it went very smoothly and quickly. I was in and out in less than 3 hours and got what I wanted for the trade in and a great deal on the new Sport Trac. Most recently we went in to buy a Fiesta Hatchback. It didn't go as smoothly as before, but we were trading in a Mustang and a Focus, so it was more work for them. We got there fairly late in the day, but they were more than happy to stay late to get everything settled. We got out of there with about what we had wanted for our trades and a great price on the Fiesta. They then said to come back to get it detailed, so they had it fully detailed for us the next time we came down. Also they now are throwing in the first service for free, which is fantastic. I will keep coming here as long as I continue to live on the central coast. read more

I brought my ford here to diagnose the backseat which was stuck in the folded down position due to a possible faulty seatbelt. When I got the car back the seat was still stuck folded down , and they charged me approx. $70 for a diagnostic that went as follows - "yeh, the seat is stuck". C'mon folks, my two year old could've told me that. This is not a diagnostic - A diagnostic is to tell me WHY it's stuck and the solution to fix it. I politely pointed this out to the guy there, and I got nothing in response. I paid, left, and learned my lesson. I'd avoid this dealership unless you want basic maintenance. I stopped in to purchase a new spare key for my Ford Edge. Doug and Greg were sitting on a couch watching tv. They did not stand up to greet me, did not shake my hand and completely discouraged me from doing any kind of business with them. They told me they didn't have it and that I'd have to show my ID and registration to prove that the car was actually mine. Their attitude was that they did not want my business. Disrespectful. I love my car, I have had a Mustang, F-150, Ranger, Explorer, Freestar, Expedition and now an Edge. I am a proud Ford girl. Outstanding experience with the sales and service! They appeared to be upfront with the price and financing offers, and they did not come across as pushy or high pressure. The lot is kinda tight, so watch out for pedestrians and other vehicles. I cannot say enough. Ice things about her service department. Even though I was on time, I was delayed in checking into the department because I had a wonderful follow up conversation with Joseph (who took me on the test drive). The pleasant gentleman with the beard (I apologize that I didn't get his name, but I think it was Richard?) accommodated the best he could, and explained the delay that I incurred. Nevertheless, he assured me that I would receive the best possible service. Needless to say, I was a bit flustered when I got to the penalty box, but Richard(?) did an amazing job at deescalating the situation and put me at ease. Also, the office support team went way out of their way to handle my car registration because at the time I was moving out of state, and they were able to take custody of my California plates so that I could pick them up there. Thus type of relaxed atmosphere at Mullahey is everything a car shopping and maintenance experience should be. When I asked for help from ford, he said he would not get involved with that and I should take the car back to the original dealer for help. (the car is still under factory warranty). When I picked up the car it was greasy on the door as well as the steering wheel and completely out of fuel, showing Zero. We recently had an accident which destroyed the front of our 2007 Expedition. Fortunately it occurred 1/4 mile from Mullahey Ford which is where we would have taken the car anyway. The wreck occurred on a Friday, the adjuster came on Monday and by the following Saturday we had a check. It took a little over 3 weeks to fix. Our dealing with Mullahey Ford and specifically Rory was a pleasant experience. We were kept up to date with status. The car was fixed quickly and the job is very good. I just got a new truck over the weekend, and I like it a lot. I know, I know, not a person in this world likes going to car lots. I hate car lots, however my sales guy "Sal Lopez" was Honesty great. NOT your standard A-hole sales guy that I have come across over the last few weeks. We went for a drive, he showed me all the great parts of the truck, and even let me take it home overnight to make sure my kids fit ok in the back seat. I wanted the truck, so I bought the truck. The price of the truck was a bit more than I wanted to pay, and I feel they could have come down a bit more to help me out, But I get it, The dealership & Sal want to take some money home too. I did drive the truck to a different car lot to check other prices, and I realize this works as a great bargaining chip when talking cost with a dealer, the other dealer was all over me like white on rice, I guess they knew I was ready to buy! The other dealer was willing to give me a much better price on a truck, however they did not have the truck I was looking for. So I buy the truck Then I was sent in to get more Sales pitches. God I hate buying a Car. but this stuff is all standard! If I could go back in time I would have gone to the Santa Maria Dealer first, borrowed one of their trucks overnight, and drove it to Mullahey and tried to get a better price out of Sal. We traveled to Pismo Beach today with our family for the day. We parked our Ford truck, only to find it would not turn back on (oh no)!!! We called AAA, they told us the battery needed to be replaced, but it looked so bad that they could not do anything. We had it towed to Mullahey Ford. We were so afraid it would be much more than the battery - Mullahey Ford took it into their service department within 5 minutes of our arrival time. The service manager and techs worked on it and had it fixed (only needed a new battery- phewwww), in less than an hour. Courteous, kind, and relaxed everyone was amazing. We can't thank them enough for all they did....even though our beach time was cut short (a little), it could have been much worse. I have bought 2 cars from mullahey for in arroyo grande. My first car brand new in 2008 a 2008 Ford focus ses. Great car I may have paid a lil more than else were but man it was worth it service on sales side is great. My second car bought in 2015 was an 2013 focus se. Same great sales. Now the service department is were I'm mostly satisfied. With all new cars and technology coming so fast and so far these days there's bound to be problems. I've never had any issues with getting the cars back and having the same problem. I also bring my work vehicles that I've acquired elsewhere to the service department. These guys always go above and beyond. Some people say the price is high on yelp. Yea its a business they have to make money. And to me paying mark up on parts and a slightly higher labor rate for top of line work is fine by me. A big thanks to shaggy Bronson and Bob(the mechanic). Had the most enjoyable car buying experience ever with Daniel, Charles and Adrian at Mullahey Ford. Lifelong Japanese auto buyers, looked at a Ford Transit Connect for my husband's work vehicle. Daniel made it easy for us to connect with him and Charles in Arroyo Grande (we live in Goleta). Charles found the one available model in California that me out needs. Agreed on price pretty quickly, I'm pleased with the deal, my husband is pleased with the new vehicle.
