Liquidation Center - The beater car that lasted about a year. RIP

Perfect for young buyers, people who want to pay cash, people on a tight budget. Sadly, the previous owner or manager, Chuck I think his name was, passed away last year. Since then, I have notice a drop in quality and increase in prices to the cars they sell. Last year I bought a beater car for my daughter. It was nothing but trouble. Today we went back to the dealership to try and find another car at a fair price. Not only were the cars above KBB, but the cars were not in very good shape. Examples: cars that squealed and shimmied driving around the neighborhood, a car that clunked when shifted in to reverse. Out of the 3 cars were drove, all 3 would need new brakes. As I returned the 1st car, another gentleman dropped some keys off and said, "this car should have been left at the junkyard." The staff I have encountered have always been nice and helpful to me. I would give them 5 stars. Ultimately, we bought another car from a local dealer down the road. Here's the deal-- if you are poor and just need to get by, then you should go by and check them out. BUT understand something- these cars are ALL as-is. Once you sign your name, that car (and all of it's problems) are yours. They TOTALLY allow you to drive it, take it to your mechanic, etc.... Also know that they do NOT do financing. YOU must pay 1/2 down on the car and finance the rest yourself. SO..... research the cars on the lot BEFORE you go in. I don't feel like they are shady, I think their attitude is "this is our inventory, it's as-is, take it or leave it."

I would walk past the area and look at the cars just for laughs and giggles and then go on my way doing my own thing when I was done. There are no pressure sales tactics and not once have I been pressured into buying a car here (and I've been here PLENTY of times) which is a HUGE PRO if you're not looking to buy any of the vehicles. The con came when my dad found a vehicle that he really wanted to purchase and was seriously considering making a purchase. It might have been a good thing when there was no one pestering you to buy a car when you go on their lot, but when you really need someone in regards to making a purchase, they show the same attitude. Forgot the guy's name, but he really looked like he didn't want to be there. Throughout the entire process the man never uttered a word and when he did, the man sounded really annoyed. Whatever! The sales guy can pout all he wants. Despite his negative attitude throughout the entire transaction it was still worth the bargain my dad got when he purchased his car. It's such a great ride, low mileage, and he bought it over a thousand dollars less from KBB! We were skeptical about the vehicle at first, but after making trips to SF and LA with the car, we have not had one issue with the car! The car has been under my dad's possession for almost a year now and it still runs GREAT. I'm so satisfied with what my dad got from this liquidation center, that I'm actually looking to purchase a car from here when the right car comes. UPDATE (4/4/16): It's been a little over a year since we've had the vehicle and the car still runs great! We have not had a single problem with it since we've had at it. UPDATE (2/18/17): My parents still have that same car bought from the liquidation center and it's still running great! That car has been, without a doubt, the best investment ever in regards to vehicles. Still haven't found a car I would want, but when the right car comes, I'm driving back to the Central Coast and buy a ride. UPDATE (11/09/18): I found a ride for myself a month ago finally and so far have been very pleased with my purchase! In regards to the car my dad bought almost 3 years ago, it still runs GREAT. Almost 30,000 miles have been put in that car (with a recent trip to Las Vegas from Grover) and there have been zero problems! We've definitely had the best of luck finding reliable vehicles at that repo center and I'm hoping to say the same with my recent purchase.

This was not my first "go around" here (previously I purchased a used Mini Cooper JCW) but I am happy to report to you, my dearYelp review Readers, that purchasing my latest vehicle (a used Ford F-250 Super Duty Truck) was quite simply "a pleasure". I walked onto the lot not expecting to find a reasonably priced truck (ya...prices today are uncomfortably high...for everything, but especially for vehicles) and there she was...a "just reduced"white F-250 Super Duty Truck, waiting for me to find her. Actually...it was the Mullahey Ford Representative, Jim Beckman, who steered me in the right direction. Jim was exceptional...personable, knowledgeable, very "laidback", friendly and funny. Due to these qualities , our rapport was instantaneous. If you end up looking for a vehicle at this Dealership...find him...it will be worth your time! Within minutes of the introduction to this F-250...my family and I were on a test drive. Needless to say, it went very well. Getting back to the Dealership, Jim was all smiles and asked how the test drive went. I replied...well, it was okay (when in fact, it went fabulously). We both laughed...we also both knew...I wanted that truck! Before purchasing the truck, Jim allowed me to do my "due diligence" and let me take the vehicle to my local mechanic for a total inspection (nice!), which resulted in this F-250 Super Duty Truck getting a clean bill of health and the recommendation from my mechanic of..."at that price, BUY IT!" So....I did! Adrian in the Finance Dept., got me a decent rate for the small loan I needed after my down payment and the deal was done within 4 days (Saturday - Wednesday). The communication, regarding every step of the process was constant...I always knew what was going on. The few concerns that I had with the truck were taken care of, again...with a smile and I am delighted with my purchase. On this occasion (as before), in this Yelper's opinion, Mullahey Ford in Arryo Grande "brought the goods" so to speak, with the right vehicle, price, service and of course Jim Beckman...in order to truly earn this "highly recommend - looking for a vehicle, come on down and have a look" 5 Star review!

Alignment was pretty bad as I had to rub out a libtard on a median strip who was trying to CHEAT and cut me off. Griffin was our repair agent and did a phenomenal job explaining the process. Its hard to find employees that actually care and want to work nowadays. Thank you Mullahey Ford! ;)

I have always found the car-buying process to be stressful and unpleasant; however, this was the first time it was efficient, transparent, and genuinely enjoyable. My sales representative, Marcia, was outstanding. She demonstrated a high level of professionalism, integrity, and responsiveness throughout the entire process. Communication was clear and timely, expectations were set accurately, and there were no surprises. The level of trust and transparency she provided made the entire transaction straightforward and stress-free. I also utilized the dealership's complimentary vehicle delivery service, which was handled flawlessly. The process was well-organized, punctual, and reflected a strong commitment to customer convenience and operational excellence. From start to finish, this experience set a new standard for how car buying should be done. Rio Vista Chevrolet operates with efficiency, honesty, and professionalism that is rare in this industry. Without hesitation, my next planned vehicle purchase--scheduled for about a year from now--will be with this dealership. 10 out of 10 stars. Highly recommended.

Verify features, ask for internal inspections, and beware of warranty loopholes!…read more I recently came in to check out a 2021 Toyota Camry XSE. I'm leaving this review purely to warn other buyers to do their homework and verify everything before buying a used car here. I did not end up purchasing the vehicle based on what I uncovered just by asking for the paperwork and asking questions. 1. Missing Features: The car was priced and presented as a fully loaded model. However, when I physically inspected it, it was completely missing the premium Driver Assist Package (no Bird's Eye 360 camera and no Head-Up Display). Make sure you physically verify the tech you are paying for, rather than trusting the online listing. 2. The Point Check (See Attached Photo): I highly recommend demanding a physical printout of the internal multi-point inspection check right in front of you. By doing this, I was able to see their internal Toyota Used Car Inspection report. As you can see in the photo I've attached, their own technician flagged that the engine's timing cover is seeping oil. If I hadn't explicitly asked for this printout, I never would have known about the engine issue. 3. The 'Santa Maria Promise' Pre-Existing Trap: This is the biggest red flag of all. The dealership heavily advertises a 10-year/150,000-mile 'Santa Maria Promise' powertrain warranty. However, when I specifically asked the if that warranty would cover the seeping timing cover when it eventually turns into an active leak, they admitted it would NOT be covered. Their excuse? Because their own mechanic flagged it during the pre-inspection, it is legally considered a 'pre-existing condition.' They knew the car had a mechanical flaw, they knew their own warranty would automatically deny the claim because of it, and they still tried to sell it to me at a premium price, knowing I'd be stuck with an eventual $1,000+ repair bill. I walked away. If you shop here, demand physical printouts of the internal repair orders, check the car for missing features, and never assume the 'Promise' will actually protect you without getting it in writing.
