I had planned to have my son take it for me, I confirmed that was the final price, including getting it reprogrammed. But then they said as the owner needed to come & show ID (which they never asked for). When i dropped it off i noticed the price was $261.07. I questioned it & the guy said thats not my real price & crossed it out because i told him i wasn't going to sign it. So i signed it after he crossed it out. When I went back to pick it up, they told me it was $261.07. I said no it's supposed to be $150.21. The lady went to go ask, and the manager came back telling me that he spoke to me on the phone, I said yes and i was told it was $150.21. He said that he's pretty sure he told me that with the reprogramming fee it was $261.07. I told him I'm pretty sure he did not. We stood there for a few minutes going back-and-forth and I eventually just paid it because i needed the key. But I felt lied to and was very disappointed that they did not honor the price I was given, and the fact that he was gaslighting me. When he had given me the price over the phone I was with my daughter and the phone was on speaker. She had heard the price as well. I have taken my Tahoe there in the past a couple of times with no issues, but I will definitely not be returning after this incident.

I have been shopping for a 2025 or 2026 Ford Maverick (Lariat Hybrid or Tremor) in Oxford White for…read morea couple of weeks, so I know this market pretty well. Early on Monday, June 15, 2026, before the dealership opened, I came across a Facebook Marketplace listing for that truck, lightly used, at Mullahey Ford, priced at $28,840. Facebook showed the ad had been posted Sunday afternoon, and I contacted the dealer within about 22 minutes of their Monday opening -- so the vehicle was almost certainly still available. The salesperson, Charles, told me the deal was real and said he would follow up in about 30 minutes. I clearly confirmed I wanted to buy the truck at the listed price. When Charles called back roughly 30 minutes later, he said the vehicle had already been sold -- hard to believe given the dealership had been open only minutes. When I checked Mullahey Ford's own website, the same truck was (and still is) listed at $39,080. Charles described the $28,840 figure as an "internet error in pricing." I've heard about dealers using this tactic to get people in and claiming it's an inexplicable error. It's inexcusable, and according to Ai and the California DMV, Illegal. I understand pricing mistakes can happen. What concerns me is the sequence: an advertised price, a confirmation that the deal was "real," and then -- within half an hour -- both a claim that the vehicle was sold and the same truck still listed at a price more than $10,000 higher on the dealer's own site. The Facebook ad shows the truck as a 2025 and Lariat is misspelled as Lariet. The dealer website shows the same truck as a 2026 with Lariat spelled correctly. I compared the mileage, color, options, images and it's the same truck. Unfortunately, the dealer left the VIN out of the Facebook ad, but I was able to find the listing on their website. As a buyer acting in good faith, I found the experience disappointing and would caution others to get any advertised price confirmed in writing before relying on it or trusting the dealership. I am composing a complaint with the California DMV, as this seems to be a clear example of bait-and-switch.

Mullahey Ford in Arryo Grande does it again, by bringing "the fun" back to the car buying…read moreexperience! This was not my first "go around" here (previously I purchased a used Mini Cooper JCW) but I am happy to report to you, my dearYelp review Readers, that purchasing my latest vehicle (a used Ford F-250 Super Duty Truck) was quite simply "a pleasure". I walked onto the lot not expecting to find a reasonably priced truck (ya...prices today are uncomfortably high...for everything, but especially for vehicles) and there she was...a "just reduced"white F-250 Super Duty Truck, waiting for me to find her. Actually...it was the Mullahey Ford Representative, Jim Beckman, who steered me in the right direction. Jim was exceptional...personable, knowledgeable, very "laidback", friendly and funny. Due to these qualities , our rapport was instantaneous. If you end up looking for a vehicle at this Dealership...find him...it will be worth your time! Within minutes of the introduction to this F-250...my family and I were on a test drive. Needless to say, it went very well. Getting back to the Dealership, Jim was all smiles and asked how the test drive went. I replied...well, it was okay (when in fact, it went fabulously). We both laughed...we also both knew...I wanted that truck! Before purchasing the truck, Jim allowed me to do my "due diligence" and let me take the vehicle to my local mechanic for a total inspection (nice!), which resulted in this F-250 Super Duty Truck getting a clean bill of health and the recommendation from my mechanic of..."at that price, BUY IT!" So....I did! Adrian in the Finance Dept., got me a decent rate for the small loan I needed after my down payment and the deal was done within 4 days (Saturday - Wednesday). The communication, regarding every step of the process was constant...I always knew what was going on. The few concerns that I had with the truck were taken care of, again...with a smile and I am delighted with my purchase. On this occasion (as before), in this Yelper's opinion, Mullahey Ford in Arryo Grande "brought the goods" so to speak, with the right vehicle, price, service and of course Jim Beckman...in order to truly earn this "highly recommend - looking for a vehicle, come on down and have a look" 5 Star review!

We met Ruben early on while just doing some preliminary shopping, and he immediately stood out. He's incredibly thoughtful, genuinely knowledgeable, and just easy to talk to. No pressure, no weird sales tactics, no "let me go talk to my manager" theatrics every five minutes. Just a real, down-to-earth guy who knows his stuff and respects your process. What we appreciated most is that he listened. He didn't try to steer us into something we didn't want or rush us into a decision. He answered questions honestly, gave helpful insight, and made the whole experience feel comfortable instead of stressful. In a world where car buying can feel like navigating a maze with hidden traps, Ruben is the straight path. If you want a smooth, no-nonsense experience with someone you can actually trust, he's your guy.

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but after multiple experiences trying to purchase a Tundra…read morefrom Toyota Santa Maria, I feel like other potential buyers should know what my experience was. I was a serious, cash-ready buyer and genuinely wanted to purchase a truck from this dealership. I live about an hour away, so dealing with this dealership meant taking time away from work and making the drive to Santa Maria. My first experience was with a 2007 Tundra. I had an appointment to come see the truck and made plans around going down there, only for the truck to be sold before I got there. I understand vehicles can sell quickly and that an appointment doesn't necessarily mean a vehicle is being held, but it was still frustrating. Despite that, I gave Toyota Santa Maria another opportunity when a 2021 Tundra Limited became available. This is where my experience became especially frustrating. I took HALF A DAY OFF WORK and drove about an hour to Santa Maria specifically to see this truck. When I arrived, the truck wasn't actually ready. It still needed to be diagnosed and go through their inspection/reconditioning process. From there, I kept being told it should be ready "tomorrow." Tomorrow came and it still wasn't ready. Then it became another tomorrow, and so on. I waited SIX DAYS because I was genuinely interested in buying this truck. Six days later, Toyota Santa Maria called me wanting to TALK NUMBERS over the phone on the 2021 Tundra. My response was basically: when is the truck actually going to be ready? At that point, discussing numbers wasn't my main concern. I had already taken time off work and driven an hour to see a truck that wasn't ready, then spent almost a week being told it should be ready soon. Before negotiating anything, I wanted to know when I could actually see and purchase the finished, inspected truck. Then, the VERY NEXT MORNING, I was told the truck was actually not going to be sold at all. Apparently, enough problems had come up during their inspection that they decided to wholesale the truck instead. To be clear, I'm glad they ultimately didn't sell me a truck they didn't feel comfortable retailing. I would much rather find that out beforehand than buy a problem. My issue is how the entire process was handled. I took half a day off work, lost income, drove an hour each way, showed up to a truck that wasn't ready, waited six days while repeatedly being told it should be ready "tomorrow," and then received a phone call asking me to start talking numbers BEFORE they had even determined whether the truck was going to be retail-ready. Then the very next morning, suddenly the truck wasn't for sale at all. After all of that, they offered me a cleaner 2019 Tundra Limited 4x4 with around 69k miles for $45,995. I was STILL willing to give Toyota Santa Maria another opportunity if they could make the numbers make sense considering everything I had already gone through. I made an offer I felt comfortable with. Instead, I was told they were firm because they already had other interest in the truck and ultimately they were only willing to offer $1,000 off. At that point, I was done. And to be clear, this review isn't simply because they wouldn't accept my offer. They have every right to ask whatever they want for their vehicles, just like I have every right to spend my money somewhere else. It's about the overall customer experience. I came to Toyota Santa Maria READY TO BUY. I took time away from my business, lost half a day of work, drove an hour each way, waited nearly a week for a truck while repeatedly being told it would be ready soon, and then was asked to discuss numbers on a vehicle that they apparently hadn't even determined was suitable to sell yet. After giving this dealership multiple opportunities to earn my business, I've decided I'll be taking my money elsewhere. If Toyota Santa Maria genuinely made an effort to make this situation right and offered me the right truck at a price that made sense after everything I've gone through, I'd be willing to reconsider my opinion and update this review accordingly. But based on my experience as it stands today, I personally would not recommend Toyota Santa Maria. If you're considering buying here--especially if you're driving in from out of town--I'd strongly recommend confirming that the vehicle has COMPLETED its inspection and is actually READY FOR SALE before taking time off work or making the drive.
