Excellent class! I did the concealed carry class and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to increase their familiarity with handguns. In both the in person class and the online videos, Jeff teaches practical techniques and gives good advice that every handgun owner should know. Jeff also generously allows class participants to use his guns and holsters (at least for the conceal carry class), which creates a great opportunity for someone who doesn't yet have a gun and/or holster to try one out. A handgun is a big purchase and good holsters are fairly expensive too, so having the opportunity to try them out and get recommendations from Jeff is excellent. Jeff is also very nice and patient with people who aren't familiar with guns. That's a nice contrast to the staff at many gun stores and gun ranges that are extremely dismissive and condescending towards people with less firearm knowledge. I also like the fact that, for the concealed carry class, Jeff focuses on putting attendees through an in depth training program (which includes firing about 250 rounds), rather than just doing an arbitrary "competency test" like many other instructors. Those who make a solid effort to learn the skills that Jeff teaches will pass the course and will end up with far more knowledge than what's gained by just passing a single basic shooting drill test. During the warmer seasons, the classes are outside. The range used works very well for this purpose and I preferred it over the indoor ranges to which I have been. However, be sure to BRING BUG SPRAY! The outdoor range is near some woods and those mosquitoes will eat you alive without protection! You will also definitely want sunscreen as you will be spending about 4 hours in the sun. -CJ read more

This handgun home self defense course is great, whether you have extensive experience using a hand gun or none at all. I fell into the none at all and was nervous, not only about shooting a gun of any type for the first time, but also to whether the course was going to be above my knowledge level. Jeff is an excellent instructor. The curriculum is practical and very thorough. The skills that he teaches are based upon scientific principles and emphasize efficiency, accuracy and safety. When you take Jeff's concealed carry course, you learn the basics , but Jeff goes the extra mile and teaches the practical use of your firearm in case you need to use it to protect yourself and/or your family. Most of the courses offered elsewhere will have students shoot between 20 and 50 rounds to hit a bullseye target. Excellent conceal and carry course. I am not a novice but relatively new to handguns. After taking Jeff's course my comfort level with handling and shooting increased 10 fold. The course is well laid out - starting with simple stationary shots and progressing over the four hours of training to shooting and reloading while moving. Jeff is safety focused, pays attention to detail, and is positive and supportive through out the training program. Going into this class I was very nervous. I am a total newby with guns and I didn't know what to expect. Jeff was very helpful and informative! He walks you through every step and gives you pointers along the way. Now, after taking the class and shooting 250 rounds I am comfortable with a gun and know when and how to use one. For the experienced shooters in our group he would change things up and add in new/harder tasks. So, if you are already comfortable with guns you will still get a lot out of this class! This was an all around great experience!! Jeff is great in his professionalism and his knowledge in how he conducts his class. The modules are great to watch and be able to revert back to on your own time and the range portion just makes you want to practice more and more! So impressed with this class!! Jeff was so knowledgeable!! This was the first time I have taken a permit to carry course and from talking with friends, I feel like I received a much more thorough knowledge of defensive shooting than they did. By the time we were done shooting over 20 rounds, I was completely comfortable with my weapon, both in shooting strategies and loading magazines while in a situation. Best firearms class I have taken! Jeff is incredibly knowledgeable and a great teacher. Everything was very thorough. I got lots of practice handling my firearms and shooting. Working from the holster and practicing defensive skills gave me a magnitude of confidence to handle myself if I am ever in a situation where my CCW will be needed! Took Jeff's course today. The weather was horrible but the course was great! I am a novice but not feel confident in how to safely use a weapon. Of course I need more practice, but Jeff did a great job and I feel confident and way more comfortable using a weapon and feel that if I had to, I could defend myself. The permit to carry class was excellent! The content was very precisely delivered in a safe and controlled manner. When looking for a class make sure you consider how much range time you are getting and don't get sucked in to the cheap classes where you only have to "qualify" with 10 or 20 shots. The experience was better than expected. Our group spanned wide range of skills and experience, Jeff handled this exceptionally well. The newer shooters were given the extra attention they needed while the more experienced shooters were given tips and drills to improve their performance.
