Tee boxes and fairways were in good shape and greens were smooth and true. The back nine is more wooded and front nine more of a links style. We played 18 holes in just over 3 hours. I played from the yellow which was about 5000 yds. Staff was welcoming. Great experience. Our card gives us 3 more discounted rounds and we are planning on visiting again.

Only downside to the course was the wind and lack of trees. In my own opinion the rock and roll theme is a bit, eccentric especially in combination with a giant log cabin club house. Here's what I failed to understand, the price. We went on a spring day, real feel was 17 degrees. Walked. I'm grateful he kept the course open, but I don't get the 40+ dollar price tag on a round most places would have discounted or given a rain check. I'm very thankful we walked because 60+ dollars for the round would have been ludicrous. The only thing that really made that worthwhile was that so few people were there for the first 9. I can't say I'll be back to play with that price point. There's plenty of nicer courses I'd rather be at for that.

Some tee boxes were a bit bumpy but overall it was in good shape. The forward tees were around 5000 yds which is a good distance. Not a lot of water and mostly straight fairways should lead to good scores but I played horrible. Maybe the 90 degree weather had something to do with it. There was lots of shade on the course to help keep us cool. No GPS in the cart so without a scope, I was never really sure of yardage. Sand was a bit hard but I never landed in it so no problem. The last hole with the yellow submarine was scenic. Good stop.

The back nine was more wooded, hillier and with much narrower fairways. Distance between greens and next tees were longer so harder to walk. The grounds were a bit rough. The back nine was shadier and in better shape. Green fees are on the lower end but you get what you pay for. It's easy to get on and we played 18 holes in a bit more than 3 hours. We like hitting the course a couple of times a summer just to mix it up.

We really enjoy this golf course and we like to take friends here to impress on the back 9. The front is more of your traditional lynx course, pretty flat with some occasional bunkers. If you don't shoot well on the front then you might have a bad round coming your way. This place makes its money on the back 9 and for good reason. Hole 13 is probably one of the best holes in the state, the elevation off the tee box and picturesque views are pretty amazing. The greens and fairways have always been in great shape and we have never had a problem with slow play, although we do try to play on weekdays. It would be nice if the club house had a little more to offer, it is extremely small and only has chips and drinks last time I was there. From what I understand this course is fairly new, last 5 years or so and hopefully they will upgrade the little building in the future. Altogether i would say this is definitely worth a visit from the Metro and other parts of the state, especially for the price. Not too much water and a bit of sand provided a few challenges. The biggest challenges were the narrowness of the fairways. Yowsa, you better hit it straight or you are on someone else's fairway or lost in the woods. Our Minnesota PGA card brought us here and got us green fees with cart for $25. Woot woot! The forward tees were around 4800 yards which is a bit short. Par is 71. We liked the front nine but the back nine had too many hokey holes, ie an 's' shaped hole and a par 5 that turned at a 90 degree angle. There were several five somes ahead of us. Yet we did play in less than 4 hours. Staff was very friendly and helpful. So much beautiful scenery including rock formations, tons of vegetation, flowers, brick bridge, and views from the ridge.

There have been a lot of confrontations and there are few Marshalls encouraging slow groups to speed up. Greens are smooth but very wavy and the pin placements are deliberately difficult.
