When driving through town some colleagues and I stopped by for a quick bite to eat. We wanted to support a locally owned diner and Mulkey's was the spot to go! We visited around 11AM and they had both their breakfast and lunch menus available. I went with the classic cheeseburger which came with a side of salad or soup and fries. While I did not catch a picture of them, the cheese balls were definitely my favorite ad they were freshly made and tasty! Our waitress was very kind and attentive which gave us a great experience of a locally owned Rock Island diner!

Food is really good. I love booking events here, it's affordable and the place has a lot of room. The staff is really nice too.

The chicken and fixings also live up to the billing, they are excellent as light and flaky and perfectly seasoned with plenty of meat.

We were both disappointed, must have been a different cook because the grean beans were over cooked, wilted with no flavor ( not to mention, all of the nutrients were cooked out of them!) The mashed potatoes had been sitting under the hot plate on the plate for a while before they put the catfish on the plate and it was over breaded and fried too long! Altogether very disappointing way to spend $85

We finally got a bus ride home back to Omaha - 3 transfers and the first bus was just awful - uncomfortable and dirty, but when we got to the bus station in Davenport - we had a 2.75 hour layover and saw this restaurant across the street. It was such a nice place and the staff were amazing. The menu is filled with all sorts of options and everyone of use loved what we got. So much food, such reasonable prices and it was so good (we all said this had nothing to do with how hungry we were - we would have said the same thing if we weren't miserable and starving, lol). I had the philly cheesecake and loved that it came with some au jus (not sure it was supposed to but was so happy it did, lol. So tasty and filling. I would definitely check this place out again if I make it back to Davenport

Haven't been here in a couple years and I've been wanting to try this place again for a while now…read more We arrived early right when they Opened as we didn't know how busy would be I didn't wanna wait we got there shortly after they opened and there was already a good amount of people in there. Tom our waiter was knowledgeable about the food/menu, helpful and friendly. I got the ribeye which was outstanding, no A1 needed as it was too good to put anything on it. I opted for the steak fries as I wanted a thicker cut however they were more like a thick wedge and closer to potato wedge, they were still good however I tasted my boyfriends seasoned fries and they were way better they reminded me of the type of fries that they serve at five guys the fries were a 10 out of 10! A real homestyle fresh cut tasting fry. Actually the steak was 10/10 too. Sons kids cheeseburger looked great. Boyfriend got the Reuben and I've never had one before but I seen that corned beef coming out of his Sammie and it was tender and absolutely delicious. The whole sandwich was good despite the fact I don't care for rye bread. We added the salad bar with three soups and salad for an additional $4.50 not bad, the Philly cheesesteak chowder was good, a bit rich for a meal for me but seasoned well and very good. Next was a turkey tortilla soup, so it was like a take on the chicken tortilla soup loaded with some black beans and corn I thought it was a light good soup. Finally was the lobster bisque, boyfriend liked it, I'm not a lobster girl. Boyfriend randomly got a plate of red Potato salad and macaroni salad both which were 10/10. Red potato salad had hearty big red pieces of potato and the mac salad had a nice sweet taste, overall nice dining experience can't wait to go back and try other things!

Asked if we could rearrange them and was told they had a party after ours and we couldn't. My order was given to one of our ladies at the next table and after taking a bite realized it wasn't her order. They had to remake my order and do hers too. One lady didn't get her calzone until all of us was done with our meals. I asked if she was going to get it free or at least a discount on her tab and that didn't happen. That tables waiter was kinda rude to the ladies, but ours was very nice. My piggly wiggly sandwich lacked seasoning and was blah, but with some salt and pepper I could eat it. Your potato salad and steak fries were good though. We have a monthly women's luncheon and that was our second one there. The first one was great and we were in a room with another large group of women and our server and food was great. This will not deter me from going there because we have had good food and service, but just not this time.

So I waited in line for 15 minutes at moline. No problem. Ordered a simple double burger, she kept trying to make it plain- doesn't the default come with the works that's listed on the menu? Ordered a second single cheeseburger, again she tried to make it plain. Ordered a basket of sides from the ala carte menu. Clerk affirmed this side was a "basket" order. She read the order back to me, nope she got it wrong. She got help. Third time was a charm. I asked if I could use the pick up window as I had my elderly father in the car waiting. Nope. They said since I didn't call my order in - I couldn't use the window ( are you serious?) I explained I had tried to call a few times. Nope. So I waited, no problem. 15 minutes later I got my order and headed to the car, it looked sketchy as there were only two containers. Uh where was the side basket of onion rings. Opened each container, second container had a handful of very mushy looking onion rings squished next to the burger. Nope. My dad saw it and wasn't impressed, lol. Headed back in to explain my order must have gotten mixed up. Was told by 2 different young clerks that the ala carte side order of rings was the same amount as ordering them as a combo? HUh, Are you sure ? I can get a combo (add on a drink AND a side for $4) or I can pay a whole dollar more, ala carte -NO DRINK ??? $4.99?? So I said "I guess make it a combo if that's all the rings I get- you said it's the same, give me a drink too and refund my dollar." They called a supervisor- still had to explain how this didn't make sense. Took a hot minute. She had the kitchen make an order of rings and said it was a simple misunderstanding. Ok. Now the food: burger taste unexceptional, like where's the seasoning? Bun so mushy, I suppose from the steam in the container? Their house sauce.. mild almost bland. I'm sorry, I really am, I love finding unique eateries and advocating and supporting them but yikes. Nope. They do have their prices going for them and a fun, nostalgic atmosphere. I really wanted to be wowed. But nope. Edited: forgot - asked my dad how was his burger and he made a face: "nothing was there! (Their Smashed version means they use less meat) "No flavor! " I concur dad, I concur.
