Mulberry tree café in Paramatta not far from the Church street precinct and it is a nice open and airy spot that lets a lot of light in. This makes for an enjoyable place to have your morning brunch. It is a huge café, with wheel style tables, high tables with stools and also a small outdoor area. Order at the counter for take-away foods or sweets. They cater for the business workers in the area but now open for weekends too. On offer are a breakfast burger, French toast, eggs benedict, veggie stack, the ever popular shakshuka, bruschetta trio which sounded pretty good, a breakfast platter or the Acai Bowl. We got the Acai bowl, which was a hugely generous serving, topped with granola, coconut, chia and fruits: strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi fruit. A great healthy start to the morning. The lunch options have a few types of sandwiches; a Rueben or steak, some burgers; pulled pork, Portuguese chicken, the grass fed or double cheeseburger or a vegie burger. They also have a kofta plate, chicken schnitzel or salmon. I had the ultimate cheat meal; a grass-fed cheeseburger with beef, cheese, caramlised onion, pickles, lettuce, ketchup, mustard and mayo. The sauce was oozing from the side and I am salivating thinking back to this. All on a milk bun, it is a great burger. Accompanied with fries and they were really nicely seasoned.
As for drinks, coffees, cold pressed juices (pre-bottled) or frappes and shakes, I went for a vanilla milkshake - loved it. We also got a good iced coffee sans ice cream.
The staff are lovely and make you feel welcome. The meals are also reasonably priced. read more
