We stopped in for lunch today. It was a little warm inside and their back door was open, so maybe the a/c was out. I ordered spicy tonkatsu ramen with chicken and a rocker roll. We got our drinks and food quickly. The roll was delicious! One thing I like about this place is that they actually make the food spicy! Located in the same shopping center area as Target, I was a little disappointed by the look of things, they need to clean or dust everything, plus some of the dishes we got had cracks on them. Still the lady that served us was very kind and friendly as well as the rest of the staff. Our food was alright but not as good as the other location. Still it was a quick lunch and the food was alright. Not sure if we will come again, but maybe other ppl have a different experience. My boss comes here for lunch so it must be decent. We started with the Butterfly kiss roll which is an appetizer and the seaweed salad. They do have gluten free soy sauce but the eel, ponzu and teriyaki are not gluten free. There is a limited amount of gluten free rolls. The spicy tuna and salmon both have tempura crunchies. None of the Ramen are gluten free. The Hibachi can be made gluten free. We got it Togo so I'll have to update later. The waitress was very helpful in answering my gluten questions. Which is good since I've only been gluten free about 6 months. A hidden gem. We needed some place to eat after 9pm in Lake Worth. We spent 3 years stationed in Japan so it sounded interesting, but we were skeptical. They had the normal selection of appetizers, soups, sushi rolls, Bento boxes, and poké bowls. Our standard order to compare taste & quality is an ahi tuna tower. We also order gyoza, miso soup, a tempura vegetable, a yellowtail poké bowl, a shrimp bento box, and a roll. E V E R Y T H I N G WAS DELICIOUS! There was nothing that wasn't good. From the seaweed, tiny tofu cubes, and scallions in the miso soup and the light crispy coating on the tempura vegetables to the tuna tower and yellowtail, it was all good. Went for a date night, it wasn't busy when we arrived but there was lots of traffic in and out for carry out and dine in. Our serve let us enjoy our time and we didn't feel rushed at all. Calamari was ok - would have loved a slice of lemon be served and equal parts of legs vs calamari strips. Spicy Edamame was just that spicy! The sushi slices were not cut evenly so there were some way to big and some too small. Lastly, we each ordered the steak Hibachi and one plate had too much broccoli and the other barely had any, but lots of zucchini. The biggest issue we each had was the meat/seafood we ordered were over cooked. It was like they left the steak on there too long on one side you could clearly see it was burned! The shrimp and lobster were both over cooked and had burn marks on them as well. Overall, it was ok - I would still go back and just avoid the appetizers/sushi and next time order the meat a little under (even though they didn't ask). The Yellowtail Poke Bowl is the one poke bowl I always order at Mulan Japanese Kitchen. If you're looking for something on-the-go, this is it. It's flavorful and filling. My only complaint is the sauces can be a bit too much sometimes, making the dish overwhelming. The Tonkatsu Ramen was very delicious -- I will definitely order it again. The broth and meat were flavorful, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. It reminded me of my time in Japan. If you ever get this dish, it's definitely worth requesting for extra meat and eggs. The Sashimi Deluxe is definitely something you should try if you're a sashimi lover. Every time I visit Mulan Japanese Kitchen, they always provide fresh sashimi. It's the freshest I've had in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Another plus is it comes with a California Roll, which was a bit less than decent but still great. The King Kong Roll was definitely tasty and filling -- it was something new. Overall, I enjoyed my experience. I didn't particularly dine-in because I ordered online and picked up, but the interactions I had with the staff were always great. They don't provide curbside but I call and ask for them to bring it out and I have cash they run it right out to me. I'm pretty sure it's the owner who runs it out to me. She's so sweet. I love the food here so much I've been eating it 3x a week. It's healthy. Flavorful. And not expensive at all for all the food you get! I always get the chicken teriyaki bento box. Another great option for sushi in the Lake Worth area! I've been here twice for lunch and enjoyed my meal both times. They offer ramen, hibachi (from the kitchen), poke bowls, bento boxes, and a nice variety of sushi and rolls. I only wish they offered rice less rolls. I've personally had their poke bowl and it was nice. No complaints and good enough to satisfy the craving. Their fried rice looked delicious. Packed with meat and large sized shrimp. Customer service is very nice and friendly. They greet you when you walk in and always thank you when you leave. They're able to accommodate large parties (7) with no issues during lunch and with friendly service. Definitely look forward to coming back here. I like the social distancing practices they have in place, ie seating customers at certain tables. Try this place out! read more

I can't figure out how this place has 4 stars. It's a solid 3 at best. The restaurant is nice and clean. The staff is always nice and courteous. The prices are very reasonable. The problem is the food can be hit and miss. The fried Rice and sushi are 3 1/2 stars but the ramen is a negative 1 star. It is extremely bland. The noodles and pork in the tonkatsu are always overcooked. The broth taste like plain bottle water. They need to do better and be more consistent with their food. I believe their rating stands at 4 stars only because they are no other similar restaurant in town. Overall, they have potential but no competition to push them to a true 4 star. read more
