I couldn't have had a better experience to remove carpet and put new wood floors in. I heard about Mulan through two friends who had used them before. When I made the initial call, they were already able to give me a very rough estimate. They did an initial inspection and we had several discussions before the installation began. Throughout our conversation, they were very professional and willing to help me understand different options based on my needs and financial situation. The installation was scheduled just one week after my initial call. I needed to replace two flights of stairs. They worked quickly and consistently sent me updates with photos. When I came to check at the end of the second day, I was very happy with the quality. They even touched up scratch marks on the wall that weren't related to their work. The installation team was very friendly and truly went above and beyond my expectations. Overall, Mulan was efficient, professional, and priced reasonably, and they have a large variety of flooring materials to choose from. One thing to note is that the initial inspection required a $75 fee, but that amount was deducted from the final invoice. They have a great variety, beware of the cheap options. We bought engineered wood, and every time a phone drops, it leaves a dent, these floors are as strong as cardboard. I recommend dropping your phone on anything you're planning to buy from this place in order to test it. Do not give them your personal information, they have a very aggressive sales team, they called us a couple times a week and would try their best to convince us to buy, even though we were still in the planning stages of our renovation and not necessarily ready to buy floors. I do home renovation projects myself. Mulan gave great products and great price. I bought a 30mil anti-scratch film Luxury Vinyl 8mm plank. It is great quality. My dogs run on top of it and no scratch at all. It is rigid core with pads at the bottom. I used to buy Costco's flooring. It is great products but very limited color. I bought a 20mil plank from Costco for last project and it cost me the same. Besides, Mulan's shipping cost is reasonable. I also returned the left over boxes. No issue. After visiting many places to look for LVPs for my home renovation, Mulan Floor had the color I wanted at the price point I needed. Kevin was very helpful and informative when it came to figuring out which one I wanted. I already had my own contractors to do the work, so he was nice enough to lend me a sample of the floor so I could see how it would look in my home. Once I figured out what I wanted, he helped me place the order over the phone and also helped me figure out how many baseboards I also needed. I appreciated the easy process when it came time to place my order and figure out delivery. They were also accommodating with my delivery date, since I had to change it a couple times because the renovations took longer than expected. They delivered it on time and everything looked great. This is a "mom and pop" flooring business that we also found through Yelp. Initially, I was a little hesitant to buy from a "mom and pop" store since I didn't want any issues and knew buying from a big box retailer, such as Lumber Liquidators or Home Depot might be easier with returns or if something negative came up with our engineered floors. But I have to say that I was really pleasantly surprised by my experience here and the customer service has been amazing. We went in looking for a specific color, width, thickness, etc. for our home renovation and fortunately, Kevin had the exact thing we needed. We also found similar products at Lumber Liquidators that would have cost considerably more that we think didn't have as nice aesthetics (we were looking for planks that had minimal knots). We also got samples from Home Depot, which were also more expensive and not nearly as nice. It was only after visiting other multiple "mom and pop" flooring stores, did we finally decide to go with Mulan and we're glad we did. Our choice of engineered flooring was discontinued, so we got it a little cheaper than usual and, in all honesty, I'm not sure if their flooring in general is always the cheapest compared to other flooring stores, but I have to say that their customer service has been excellent and whatever more you might pay (which will at most be very little) is worth going here. Kevin has been such an excellent resource getting our questions answered and helping us make the right decision on a lot of questions, from the type of glue to coordinating our delivery. Some questions we asked, he could have easily tried to up-sell us, but he didn't and if anything, tried to keep our costs down with the best product. Also, it's always easy to reach him and he's always been responsive, which I don't think you'd get at other places. Finally, the icing on the cake was their delivery. First off, their delivery charge is pretty minimal compared to those other big box retailers, and when I finally did get my flooring, they were on-time and most importantly, they helped me put it exactly where I wanted the flooring stored. Many deliveries I've experienced only put this on the driveway due to the sheer size, but not Mulan. They'll go above and beyond to make sure you're satisfied. Overall, this has been a great experience and I wish all of our home renovation contractors and purchases were this easy. She showed us different floorings that would be ideal for our rental. She took her time to explain the different properties of each flooring and also matched the appropriate molding for the flooring. We ended up choosing: Flooring: Dove Grey colored LVF. The flooring had foam padding attached to it, my husband had no trouble installing it. I also liked their 14 day return policy for any extra flooring you bought and their customer service. I feel like they genuinely want their customers to be happy with their purchases. Fast processing and delivery, I only had to visit this place twice, once for buying, once for returning. Kevin helped me with their selection of SPC. This product is very similar to LVP you see at big box stores but it has a stone composite versus vinyl composite. The product has a lower VOC and stone is stronger than vinyl. Mulan pricing is comparable to big box stores for a more superior product. Let's start my review off by saying I am a very very meticulous person and somewhat of a perfectionist. I am a Virgo after all...for those who believes in horoscope signs. :) SO I have recently purchased a brand new home and wanted to upgrade my flooring for the entire house, I didn't want to do it with the builder because it's super expensive for the most basic material. After months of searching for the wood flooring & several not-so-helpful contractor later, I was referred to Mulan by a neighbor who also done their floor with Mulan. Husband and I went to their showroom just to browse around, May was very nice at showing us all different types of flooring. 2nd time we came back to meet with Kevin and as a first time home buyer there's a lot of things we don't know. Kevin was very knowledgeable and patient at explaining each type of wood and asking/listening to what our needs and wants are. We went with an engineered wood that Kevin suggested, the toughest decision was made very easy and painless for us which I appreciate greatly!! We also had tiles done in the house. When it came to the installation, Kevin was very on top of the situation. He is very easy to reach, text or phone he always answers or calls back within reasonable time. I probably exchanged several dozen phone calls and text with him in those 2 weeks he worked on my house. He doesn't over promise and under deliver, he said he'll finish within number of days, and he did with extra time for touch up. The workmanship is great (especially on the staircase), I expressed my attention to detail to him at the very beginning and reassure that everything will turn out the way I want and he did not let me down. I'm surprised he didn't find me annoying, haha! I couldn't be happier with the way my floor turned out, and I have been referring my friends, family and coworker to him already!!
