Poorly maintained bushes
Christina A.

Look up FPI Management. This sums up how it's going at Muirwood Garden. It's dirty, unkempt with no management to ensure the landscaping is maintained and the grounds are clean. My friend has not received her deposit after moving out early. My other friend was billed a "vacant unit" charge and a mysterious $500+ bill. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY

It's been crazy living there for the last 6 months, domestic fights, drugs, dirty people, dog poop everywhere, mail theft.

I cannot rave enough about this complex. I recently downsized from a two bedroom to a one bedroom…read morewithin this complex. Tailiyah who works in the leasing office has been AMAZING. The whole staff is. I have been talking to Tailiyah from the start of moving in the complex in January 2024. She is person who sold me in the first place to move in. She's just very professional, courteous and friendly. Her whole demeanor made it just such a welcoming experience. When it came time for me to switch apartments i was so set that i did not want to be on a top floor unit, though i had never actually even looked nor lived in a top floor unit. She had listened to what i wanted in my apartment switch, more lighting, space needs etc. and she showed me a unit on the top floor. I cant say enough how much i appreciate her listening to what i really was looking for in my apartment. I moved in to my top floor unit at the end of January and i am so in love with my place now! I love coming home to my place. I have all the things that i talked to Tailiyah about, so much more natural light like i asked about and such a spacious feel. She even helped me pick a color for my wall that i asked to be painted! Absolutely feel like she went above and beyond to make me feel happy in my space.

I would strongly caution anyone considering living at this apartment complex. My experience here…read morewas extremely frustrating, unprofessional, and honestly felt dishonest from start to finish. The management and office staff were incredibly difficult to deal with and consistently avoided accountability. One of the biggest issues was the security deposit. They advertise it as a "refundable deposit," but then tack on a so-called "nonrefundable cleaning fee" regardless of whether you leave the apartment spotless or clean it yourself. I specifically asked THREE separate times for a copy of the rental agreement or documentation that clearly stated this policy, and they refused to provide it every single time. That alone says a lot. Maintenance issues were another nightmare. My washer and dryer were broken for THREE MONTHS, and despite multiple requests and follow-ups, management offered no urgency, no temporary solution, no compensation, and barely any communication. For an apartment complex charging the amount they do, that level of neglect is unacceptable. What bothered me even more was how they handled serious property issues. I personally have video evidence of staff painting over what appeared to be mold stains instead of properly addressing the problem. Covering up potential mold with paint instead of professionally treating it is irresponsible and concerning, especially for tenants' health and safety. Overall, the staff and management came across as disorganized, dismissive, and more focused on keeping tenants' money than actually helping residents. Communication was poor, promises were rarely followed through on, and every issue became unnecessarily difficult. I rarely leave negative reviews, but people deserve to know what they may be walking into before signing a lease here. Save yourself the stress, document EVERYTHING, and think twice before renting from this complex.

Mountain View House - Volunteering

Mountain View House

Mountain View House is temporary housing for families in need…read more My wife volunteered for us to cook and serve food this past Tuesday. When she first told me I wasn't extremely happy that she signed up to do it since it was on a Tuesday and if anyone reads my wife's reviews they would know that Tuesday is synonymous with Tacos. Amy, (my wife) had to figure out what we were going to serve for that Tuesday and she choose Spaghetti. I didn't realize that we weren't just going to show up and cook and serve we actually had to buy the food cook it bring it in and serve it at six exactly. We cooked the spaghetti sauce at home first and we were told to make enough food for 30 people 11 of those being adults and the rest kids. We used about 3 pounds of ground beef and a plethora of tomato sauce. It turned out great, then Amy snuck in some weird looking green stuff that I later found out to be something called Broccoli. It was still amazing. We then drove to Martinez where we finished the rest of the cooking. We also brought Garlic Bread that we stuck in the oven when we got there and a salad that Amy had already cut up a bunch of vegetables so all we had to do is toss it. The last thing that we had to to was cook the noodles so we found a giant pot and stuck three packages of noodles in it after it was boiling. Mountain View House was very clean and everyone was very friendly, from the staff who showed us around to the families that were going to enjoy the meal with us. The kitchen was also immaculate and it was very easy to navigate around and cook the rest of the meal. After we were done cooking we served the food and then grabbed plates and went out and ate with the families. Everyone was so nice and so thankful it really felt great to be able to give back to the community in such a one on one environment.

SPENDING MY FREE TIME WISELY…read more I try to fit volunteering into my schedule whenever I can. I enjoy meeting new people and helping out the community, but it can be hard to find free time with my busy life. Often it seems volunteer hours are available weekend mornings, but I enjoy this time at home since I work full-time during the week. I'm always excited to find something close to home, especially if it's mid-week during the evening! I heard about an opportunity to make dinner for homeless families at this temporary housing facility and it worked out with my schedule - I could choose Monday through Friday, and I picked Tuesday. I signed up my husband and myself and agreed to purchase enough food for the families housed here. We showed up early with most of our food precooked (which was great because they follow a strict serving time of 6pm). We only served a couple minutes after 6 and then ate with the families. It was a great experience overall. However, I can hardly afford my own groceries sometimes! I think we'd have to find someone to split the cost with before we could continue to work with this house in the future.

Love the property and adore the manager Angela!…read more Always so professional and friendly! Looked at alot of other places and selected this one because of the location and customer service.

This review is long overdue, and I truly hope people take the time to read it…read more My husband and I moved here in December, and to this day we still pinch ourselves because of the difference living here has made in our lives. We literally look at each other every day with big smiles and say, "We love our new home." Before this, we lived in Pleasant Hill and spent a LOT of time searching for a bigger apartment that was still within a reasonable price range. It honestly felt discouraging at times--either the management was unresponsive, rude, or the places just didn't feel right. Then we found this place... and we truly couldn't believe it. First of all, Angela, the manager, is AH-MAAAZING!! --we literally call her our angel. From the very beginning, she was so warm, helpful, and easy to work with during the tour and application process. But what really makes her stand out is how much she genuinely cares--not just about the property, but about the people who live here. That kind of management is rare. And I don't say that lightly. At our previous place, we dealt with extremely poor and neglectful management--so much so that it actually put our safety at risk. And at other properties we toured, the managers were so rude that it made us think, "Is this what it would be like dealing with you regularly?" Hard pass. Living here has been the complete opposite. If you're someone who values peace and quiet, friendly neighbors who actually say hello back, a dependable maintenance team, and a manager you can truly count on--this is your place. It's a drama-free, respectful community, and that makes all the difference. I promise you, you won't regret it. OH! Btw, the apartments do look like exactly like the photos online.

I would like to say that Mr. #205 is very out of line in his compliant of this apartment complex…read moreafter only living here only 5 months and making enemies before friends. You had problems with your Dog because you left him on the balcony unattended for hours to bark and disturb the other neighbors intentionally. You also decided to pick on an elderly Veteran that lived under you and had your children make loud noises to keep the poor man up all night. Management had no choice but to move you. Mr 205, there is always two sides to a story. As for Vista Oaks, Ive been here 3 years it's a very nice place, ran by good management. Angela runs office and she can always be counted on in her office not like the prior Lady when I moved here ,so it has improved. We did have some poop issues for a while but they did hire an extra maintenance person specifically for that to go around and make sure all matters are picked up and grounds are clean. They also landscape once a week so it's always kepted nice and manicured. We have a great maintenance crew Bill, he is very reliable and always gets the job done. All you have to do is put in a work order through the website and they come the next day to fix the problem. That easy!. It is a gated community so you cant just have anyone coming in and out which for me it secure. Parking could be better but you are allowed one secure parking and open space for your other car. In all, Ive never seen a fight here, or the police here., we are all neighborly to each other and respect everyone. Great place to live!

Why not terminate the lease ? Excuse me it's not that easy to pack up with kids and find a place in…read moreshort amount of time. Mind you I was 4 months post partum! Your company doesn't seem to care. Honestly your replies to our complaints and concerns aren't very professional and making this place look even worse. We have been in contact with previous tenant in 205 and he stated otherwise. Oh and management ASKS tenants to leave good reviews in ordered to bring up the ratings. Good luck with your community.
