I called Tyler this morning letting him know that we broke a spring and he said he would be out after 3pm the same day to fix it. He also said he would call to let me know when he was on his way and he DID JUST THAT. It only took him 30 minutes to replace two springs and he noticed one of the main contact points for the quick release was failing so he added a longer strut piece and anchored it even better. We've used Muhly's for years, with two homes. Until this point, all have been for regular servicing (no repairs) to keep our garage door openers in smooth working order, but a few days ago we discovered the garage door wouldn't open! Yes, you guessed it- a spring had busted into two pieces! We thought we might have to park outside for several days or even a week until we could get an appointment, so you can imagine how surprised we were when on the SAME day we called and got an appointment! The person on the phone (sorry- didn't catch her name!) was extremely helpful, friendly, and professional! She scheduled the appointment, and later that afternoon, Tyler came out. He fixed it in a very short amount of time, and then serviced both doors! He was friendly and personable, and took lots of time to answer several questions for us. He even advised us on a service we wondered about doing that day, but he was forthright that we didn't need to do it at this time, which saved us money. They did a nice install but are pretty expensive. After my work they made an appointment to work with my neighbor but never showed up, only called after the fact. Not very professional in that respect. That's all that is necessary for you to know but for some reason Yelp insists that you write a novella before they're publish it but you probably already knew that. The job was done but the cost were not disclosed ahead of time... I had a spring on my 8' garage door replaced. The man identified himself as Mr. Mulhly. The job took less than 30 minutes to complete. After the job was done, he said the cost was $445.00. Before I paid by check, I asked him for a receipt of services. He told me this wasn't his service truck and he told me that it was $125.00 for the services call. A few days later I was sent a invoice for a service call to replace the door spring @ $445.00. I called the Muhlys office and spoke to the office manager and biling department person and asked to have a itemized receitpt of services. She refused to give me a break down of the cost of items including the springs. I asked her if she knew the cost of the springs and she responded "yes" She refused to tell me the cost of the springs upon multiple requests. As a customer I like to know what I was actually paying for and she said "I don't do the billing that way". If you take the $445 charged-$125 service call =$320 remaining balance...I can only assume that the springs cost me $160 each. If you go to your local hardward store the springs are aproximately $99 pair. Lesson for me here is to get an itemized quote ahead of time and hire a company that is willing explain their cost upfront. read more

Outstanding service!!! We tried to replace our garage door springs as one broke. We went to YouTube and it all looked easy, so I ordered the parts off Amazon and did exactly everything the video stated and long story short we damaged our garage door and many other things, we got way in over our heads and ended up repairing way more then just a spring. I called one other garage repair with no answer and my next call way to Muhlys and a sweet lady answered and got me help immediately after I had told her what all had happed, She explained all the techs days were full but she will make a call and see if one of them can fit us in. Over the weekend the large torsional spring that assists in mechanically lifting up the garage door broke on one side. After asking some friends on a recommendation, this led us to the team at Muhly's Garage Door. I went to their website, sent them an email @ 4:53 PM with a couple of photos of what needed to be repaired and the model number of my garage door opener. I figured with how busy everyone has been, it would be 2-3 days before I would hear an answer. To my unexpected surprise, they sent an email to me later on that evening @ 7:35 PM stating that they they had the parts and could fix the garage door the next afternoon. (I had to look at the email a couple of times to make sure I was reading it right...after all it was after 5 PM.) Anyway, it is the next day, they have arrived this afternoon and with a minimum of fuss, replaced the spring and the garage door operates properly! We have used Muhly for years. They have installed new openers over the years for us. A few weeks ago, the door didn't want to close, it would open. We called them and a gentleman came and worked on the "eyes". Within just a couple of days, it stopped working. I called them 3 different times, few return calls, and also sent an email saying the garage stopped working. The lady said a gentleman would call us and talk us through the repairs. That was probably a week and a half ago. As of today, we have not had any response from them. We are so disappointed since this is a local company and we want them to survive. When I did talk to the lady, she said she couldn't keep up with the job and she was tired. We are so disappointed! Time for someone different. read more

I called Muhlys, and they promptly came and checked it out on Saturday, and had a new door ordered and installed on Tuesday morning. They were professional, on time and very easy to work with. On 9/12 we had Muhly's come to fix a broken part on our shop bay door. They hit an air line that feeds all of our CNC machines leaving us unable to produce parts for over an hour. I did not receive a bill for 6 weeks and had assumed we were not being billed due to the loss we incurred. I sent an email with the video explaining the situation. I did receive a nasty email response accusing me of wanting to charge them for downtime while the door was being repaired, telling me they were writing the invoice off as "uncollectable" and in the future don't call them for repairs. I did not receive any kind of apology for the loss I incurred due to their actions. I then called trying to explain that I wasn't charging them for downtime for the door repair, but that I thought the $350 invoice would be waived due to the $1440. loss in production that they caused by hitting the airline. I had hoped we could come to an amicable resolution but again was spoken to quite rudely, told to never call them for future repairs, and she never took responsibility for what they did. They definitely do not need to worry about me ever calling them for repairs again. read more

It's all about the customer service provided not only are you rude but now you lie? Why don't you say how you don't want to provide me with a receipt. I called at that time because that was a convenient time for me when I discovered my issue. It should not bother a business what time customers call that's what voicemail is for.
