Strawberry lemonade! Oh my gosh. So good!
    Katie Q.

I got their pastrami panini with cream cheese, onions, cucumbers, peppers, basically anything you want on it. And it was deliciousss. Thoroughly satisfied with my whole cafe lunch!! And I got a strawberry lemonade and they used strawberry ice cubes so it wouldn't get watered down. so gooddddd. I was sad when I reached the bottom of the cup.

    Love their coffee!!!

I think they need to stop offering food orders at the drive thru. Can cause 10+ minute waits if you get behind one of those selfish cars.

This place is a gem amidst a sea of corporate chain sandwich shops. I was running errands around lunchtime and, feeling peckish, I thought about something to eat. Now I had many more errands, so road food was the order of the day. But how many burgers can you eat? There are even some pretty good independent burger joints, but sometimes, you just want a sandwich. Now, for context, our progeny ate a school lunch maybe a half dozen times, total, throughout their school years. Most of the time, I made lunch, and the centerpiece was the sandwich. Carefully selected meats, fresh veggies, a wide variety of sauces (they can't even eat a roast beef sandwich to this day without a bit of horseradish in there somewhere) were combined with excellent bread. That is what I wanted. That is what I got. The bread choices are white or brown, but that's because the emphasis is on the interiors. The Italiano, with pastrami, salami, and pepperoni, is a classic combination, with provolone, pepperoncini, and "all the fixins" (In response to whether or not I wanted "everything" I replied "Fuck me up, sandwich sensei!") because I firmly believe in allowing the restaurant to present you with their wares, and let you decide if you like them. Now, the-woman-who-lets-me-live-with-her (thanks Mike), cannot stand black olives, but in this sandwich, they provide such a tempering influence of slightly salty, slightly bitter counterpoint to the sweet bell peppers, that it would have been poorer without them. I thought I was only going to eat about half and then save the rest, but I just couldn't help myself. I ate the whole dang thing. The vibe is classic sandwich shop, there is someone at the end of the line freshly slicing more meats as needed while two people turn out submarine deliciousness for an anxious crowd. Do not miss this place, it is a gem.

We try to shop local businesses when we can, cause Subway is just too expensive and the guy that…read moreowns all the ones in Yakima doesn't honor the specials advertised on TV. So, we TRIED to order from Sub Shop, however, they roll their sidewalks up at 5pm. And you can't order online after 4:30pm. Talk about a reason to "Yakima-don't buy into it". They claim to be cheaper than anyone else on subs, but you know, not by a significant amount. So, we went to Jersey Mike's instead cause they were not THAT much more and they seem to understand that sometimes, people work til 5pm or beyond. Would have loved to shopped local, but Sub Shop just makes it too difficult to do so.

Unlike many restaurants, Second Street Grill steps up to the plate and delivers on its promises. From the moment we were seated, our server Natalie became our most trusted advisor. She answered questions and was super helpful. She was buoyant and just amazing. The wait time was not forever, and the food was hot and tasty. No need to ask for refills, because Natalie kept on top of her duties like a boss. Now. I ordered fish and chips. The expectation was those little diamond shaped fish pucks with some shoestring fries. Nope. It came straight through a wormhole from an Irish pub. I would swear to it. The most delicious outside of halibut that I caught myself. I gotta go cuz the wife is ready, but... DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!!!!!

They were training someone new and they kept dropping dishes and trays in the back (7 times, we counted) and everyone used good humor about the poor new staff... my competely sober aunt fell backward in her chair and landed next to another diners' booth- our server was again, so patient and kind helping her up. They tolerated the mess my eight year old inevitably made as she disemboweled her hamburger and made my grandma feel special on her special day. We loved their caesar salad, their halibut and their stuffed mushrooms.
