I've used Matt Mueller twice: once to sell my home in San Jose, and again to sell my parents' home in Santa Cruz. He's been spectacular on both occasions. My first real estate transaction was disastrous as the agent treated us as a pathway to a commission instead of human beings making a massive investment. When it came time to sell we found Matt through a friend and took a chance on a difference experience... and it couldn't have been more different. Matt is solid, straightforward, always upbeat, thorough, and honest to a fault. We accepted an offer just before the state COVID lock down and the buyer ran into trouble that delayed closing, but we didn't want to give up because we'd have had to start over and accept less money. I simply cannot emphasize how much of a pleasure it was to work with Chris in finding a home for our growing family. As we are all aware, the SF housing market is off the charts. This means that months are spent stressfully looking at homes, making offers, and repeating. Chris was with us every step of the way. I am updating my 0 star review to a 5 ALL STAR all because of the switch of agents internally at Mainstream! I was working with Cassandra Bower before and it was such a frustrating experience and we thought we lost the house of our dreams! I was beyond upset on the fact we lost the house due to Cassandra's incapability. I had to call Chris, the owner of the company and left him an voice mail of what happened. Chris called me back right away and apologize about the experience we had, and understood where I was coming from, and said he was going to address the issue but unfortunately the property has an accepted offer and he wish there is something he could do... Well, he DID!!!! 3 weeks later after we looked about another hundred houses and can't find what we like... I was completely losing faith and received an VM from Andrew, at Mainstream. I called him back only to learn the accepted offer fail through and Chris wanted him to call me and work on getting the house. What an amazing news!!! I couldn't believe it. More importantly, I was working with US Bank and what do you know? Another incompetent home mortgage team so I was about to give up because the bank told me they made a mistake on the preapproval and don't think I can get the loan. Now I had the cleanest profile and near perfect credit score so the news was devastating when I returned from my vacation. Andrew pulled this all together for me!!!! He work tirelessly and always returns my phone call within mins! I never have to worry about not be able to get ahold of him and he is truly... A problem solver!!!! He has a tons of relationships and resources in the industry and knows just about everybody! He was able to escalate the matter to the upper management at US Bank and thinking outside the box, and helped me to find ways to work through the loan, and remain clam and collective throughout the process! In my opinion he was the only person who made this deal happen. He is very process driven and truly wants the best of his clients and do not care about upsetting people who do not contribute. In my eyes he was my loan officer, he was my title go to person, he was my escrow officer and furniture remover!!!! He did everything when no body puts in time and effort to it! We honestly can't thank him enough and because of him, we closed our house today and got the keys to the best home that we thought we did not have a chance. This review is long overdue. I was just reflecting on how far we've come in our journey to home ownership in this super competitive market. We first me Chris Zanger at an open house in which he was the listing agent. We struck up a conversation with him in the hopes of getting some insight as we were planning on making an offer. My wife and I found his demeanor to be friendly and we could tell right away that he was very knowledgeable. Long story short, we didn't get the house but we saw how hard Chris was working for his client that we decided to switch realtors and work with Chris and his team instead. At this point, we were working with a Redfin agent and we were getting blown out every time! Our previous agent did not have a workable strategy that was in our best interest. His only advice was to waive "ALL" contingencies and outbid everyone. He was just in it for the commission. We had already lost out on 6-7 houses at this point with all offers at a premium above asking price. Once we found another house that we were interested on bidding for, we contacted Chris right away. We did not want to lose another house and were fully willing to pay through the nose and waive contingencies that we weren't really comfortable with in order to come in strong. Chris actually talked us out of paying more which ultimately saved us $35k and convinced the seller's agent to accept our preemptive offer. Chris also advised us not to waive certain contingencies which solidified to us that he was looking out for our best interest and not just counting his possible commissions! With the help of his team member Joe, we were able to finally close on our house after a long, hard struggle to make our dreams come true! We contacted Chris Zanger based on a raving referral from a friend, and after having introductory calls with a couple of agents, we felt that Chris made us feel most comfortable, by far, and that he would be able to best support our needs and represent us in our first time buying a home. We actively looked for homes over a span of about two months, with Chris spending about five weekend days touring homes with us, always flexible to meet at times that worked with our schedules. He helped us narrow down our search to specific neighborhoods and homes based on feedback we gave him from prior visits. After viewing 50 properties, we found a home that we loved, and after guidance from Chris on what to offer, it was accepted! Chris is very patient, and we never felt rushed at any point. He is also extremely responsive to emails, phonecalls, and texts, usually providing answers to our questions within hours, if not sooner, and he worked closely with our lender and title company to ensure everything was on track to close once our offer was accepted.
