The meat was flavorful. Plus really over cooked. It was my first time at this establishment. I definitely will not go again.

The service has been good the times we have visited and our orders come out in a timely manner. The vibe is pretty cool, they do have loud music playing and this past weekend they had someone singing live music. We tried the nachos (half order)- I would rate them a 5/10. They serve a good portion however our chips were stale. We have also tried the papa with the meat- 7/10 pretty good, great portions. My fiancé really liked it. This would be a repeat order for him, for me personally, I would try something else. Lastly, 9/10 is the giant quesadilla. This is what you go to El Plebe for! It is delicious and definitely a shareable. You can share it between 2-3 persons. The flavor is fantastic and unmatched. You cannot go wrong with this order. We add crushed takis to the taco. We got sat down and ordered our drinks. I got a tea and the hubby ordered a beer. I was undecided at to what I wanted for my birthday lunch (I didn't tell the staff it was my birthday at any point during our visit and I wanted to keep it that way). The waitress came back a while later and we ordered our food. I was finished with my tea and the hubby with is beer. The waitress never appeared to asks us if we wanted refills. So our food came about 20-30 minuets later. At that point she asked if we wanted refills. We said yes, of course we do. I got the fajita plate, It was warm-cold at best. I was hoping it be pipping hot. It's fajitas so it was a BIG turn off BAD!!!!!!?I put my fajita plate to the side and it took a while for the waitress to come back, I wanted to order another plate. I got the Flounder that was stuffed with crab meat. I was excited by the sound of flounder (my favorite type of fish with crab meat) my mouth was watering! When the fish came out to the table and it had no flavor WHATSOEVER!!!!! I'm a seafood lover and I can tell you that it was a disappointment! I really was disappointed with the whole experience. Of all days, my birthday.........at your restaurant! It was also a disappointment that I only got 2 refills of iced tea. I have patronized your establishment so many time and never have I been disappointed as much as I was today, on my birthday! As my husband and I were Checking out at the front desk, cause the waitress never came over to give us are bill, I told the manger or whomever it was at the front desk how LACK LUSTER our experience was. Never out of the years we have eaten there, have we a bad experience like this. Anytime we do go, we always ask for Jorge, he is our go to waiter. He is a wonderful waiter very receptive and curious. We have had other waiter/waitresses and they are so good as well, never had a problem with anyone. I don't know if this waitress was new or in a bad frame of mind but we weren't happy at all, or at least I wasn't happy. I will continue to go to your establishment because it is good food and I like the environment, and one instance shouldn't determine the inadequacies. We enjoy the atmosphere and really love the food. We enjoy Jorge and everyone else that waits on us. We are generous with tips, just ask Jorge, he will tell you. BTW, we did pay for all our food even the two plates that weren't to my expectation. We do genuinely like eating here and will go back again in the future.

Today's visit was my second time to this Muelle 37 location. It is on the west side of Texas Blvd.,…read moreand couple of blocks north of Walmart and just south of Sugarcane Drive in Weslaco. The building is new and pristine, we'll landscaped, beautifully decorated with the typical Muelle 37 style of fishing piers, taxidermied game fish and a few pelicans. All bright colors, yet pleasant. There are some large screen TVs for those who keep up with sports. Background music is kept at a decent level for conversations until the birthday crew comes out dancing and singing dressed with samba sleeves when the Mexican mariachi birthday song (Las Mañanitas) announces it's time to celebrate someone's birthday. When that happens, just enjoy it, sing along or clap, as most customers do and with the person a happy birthday. Muelle 37 is an authentic Mexican seafood restaurant with an extensive menu that also includes some carne asada, a few antojitos, a children's menu, desserts, and a full bar. It is family friendly, and a great place for small groups, or even a business lunch. I would not consider it an intimate and romantic spot for a date, unless you really love Mexican seafood - and in that case, this is the place. I've been to more than one location of this growing local chain of restaurants and have always been impressed with the cleanliness, food quality, friendly service, and warm atmosphere. This time was no different. I got the fried fish and shrimp which comes with rice, French fries, salad (no dressing, Mexican style, but squeeze some lime on it!), and a cup of seafood soup broth. I guess it's my gringo blood, as I'd prefer some salad dressing and more vegetable choices. But this is an authentic Mexican style seafood restaurant and, having traveled extensively in Mexico, I can say they do it well. I don't drink alcohol, so I cannot comment on the full bar, but the limonada here is superb, just right. They also serve the typical fountain drinks. This location has a private parking lot. No street parking. Peak hours can be very busy as this is a popular restaurant, so we arrived at opening time and had our choice of seats. By 1:30 PM they were quite busy but still had open tables. I am posting pictures of the menu from their website as it is clearer than trying to take shots of the printed menu. Check them out, if you like seafood, I think you'll enjoy it. If you like Mexican style seafood, you'll love it!
