Used to be a clean laundromat. About a quarter of the machines were out of order. The washer I used was dirty on the inside of the handle. Like an idiot I used it anyway. Washed a thick white electric blanket. It came out a dingy color. Very disappointing. read more

If you've been to a laundromat, you know what to expect. C'mon, it's a laundromat. You'll see different-sizes machines, a few having "out of order" signs. Muddy's gets 4 of my stars because they have really nice people & the place is usually quite clean. It's not a really big place & it'll get crowded during peak time. The small plaza's parking lot sucks. Obviously, the building was constructed when the street was half as wide. Park on the side. One wall of dryers. 25¢ in a dryer yields a 10-minute spin. They are hot but the last 2 minutes or so are a "cooling down" (no heat) period. Best to check your stuff when there's 5-6 minutes remaining so if you need more time, you can insert another quarter & skip the useless cooling down. They have one row of top-loader washers and three perhaps four different sized front-loaders. A much better deal when you're stuck doing the family wash, like I was. But it provided a great excuse to get outta attending a birthday party at the in-law's. Minus one star because the underside of the detergent flap had mildew (gotta keep them washer doors open when not in use). I wouldn't have used that machine with mildew if I hadn't already stuffed it full of clothes. Minus another star because the hot water wasn't really hot. I can't imagine how a laundromat could maintain hot water without a boiler the size of the USS Augusta. It wouldn't matter anyway, as every machine sold in the US since Clinton was eyeing the female interns in The White House has had to obey gubmint energy regulations so we could enjoy a life free of energy and climate concerns. Add a star for having clean counters & very nice staff. read more

I understand needing to move stuff so people can use washers but at least use caution and be sanitary. We were a few min late picking up our laundry from the washer to move it to dry and we walk in and our wet laundry is sitting in these metal carts just waiting...dripping. I have never seen them sanitize these carts in between people using them. Just the fact that strangers went through my laundry is disgusting. We do our laundry here regularly and haven't had a problem like this before. We have had issues in the past with not being given our correct amount of quarters from the older shorter lady with curly hair. We have unfortunately also experienced her talking trash about other customers to us and others. After today we'll be going to a different place. read more

During a weekend of travel baseball we needed a laundromat to wash uniforms. We attempted 2 other locations closer to our hotel and neither were accommodating for a simple wash and dry even though their hours were posted to close at 9:00 and we arrived at 7:45. The minute I walked into Muddy's, 15 min before closing, Ida explained that as long as I stayed she was fine that I started a load 15 min before closing. She was the sweetest lady, telling me about other locations that could accommodate late night washing, but warning me that they might not be as safe. She was finishing up last minute cleaning but frequently came to check to make sure I was doing ok while I waited. I will return to Muddy's every time we're in Joliet and need a laundromat. read more

Washers ... okay, multiple sizes available clean, sraff friendly. Dryers a different story. I used four .... even after 20 min, all laundry was very damp and not hot or even warm. Took laundry home to.my own dryer. Will proabaly not return to this facility. read more

I dropped my clothes off here for the wash and fold service and recited excellent service!! This was the first time I tried this place as I usually go to the one on Plainfield road across from the drug store and taco place that is 24 hours for there wash and fold service. They charge the same ($1 per load) but they do not do wash and fold on the weekends and they sometimes take a day to wash your clothes. Muddy's took my clothes in and noon and called me at 2:45pm on a weekend!! I love this place so much better! The staff is much nicer and they hang your clothes and fold them no extra charge! Trish even took $5 off because she didn't want to charge me for the basket my clothes came in. I highly recommend this place to anyone interested in the service! read more

It's a laundromat. Lol. Not much to say. I do like coming here based on the fact that I l can get in and out and it has that old time feel to it. My laundry piles up so it's nice to get it done quickly all at once and the attendants are almost always available and super friendly. That's a major plus in case something breaks. read more

Our washer broke last week right before Thanksgiving. I had never been to any laundromats out here before. It's a decent laundromat. Plenty of washers and dryers I had no issues with that. Seemed expensive to wash in standard washers, $2.00 a load. Dryers were .25 for 10 mins. Pretty standard price there. There was also remodeling going on with extremely loud banging and machinery. The woman who worked there was very nice and apologetic about it though . All in all it was just fine for what I needed it for at the time, maybe give people a break on your wash prices and Muddy's would be A-ok read more

I have never been to a laundromat before today and due to an unfortunate event, I had to bring a load of laundry in that was midway through its wash cycle along with every towel I owned to be washed (it was kind of a disaster/flood situation.) The person working there was super nice and helped me figure out the coin slot on the machine and told me when my machines were done (they are faster than mine at home.) All was well until I got home and realized I had left some things behind and when I called, they were still super polite and offered to dry the items left behind and leave them in the office to be picked up the following day. read more
