Wanted to try Mud Street Cafe to dine in the Eureka "underground." It has a cool ambiance with a historic stone wall, a large wood bar and a few stained glass pieces covering windows that originally looked out onto the street. We had great service. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. Food came out quickly and we were very pleased with our sandwiches. We both had salads with honey lime dressing, which was delicious. Although I asked if I could upgrade my side of chips to a side salad and was told yes. Came here on a Monday morning and was able to get seated quickly. The service was excellent, and we were never without help during our breakfast. We appreciated the many vegetarian options. When you are looking to park to eat here, you have option to pay cash or through mobile app, "Passport Parking." Mobile App parking has clearly designated spaces. App is easy to use. It cost me $3.15 for 3 hours. Once you enter through the doors, you will go downstairs to the cafe. To my knowledge, this would not be a good eating place for people in wheelchairs. I didn't see alternative options. If someone knows something different, please comment on here and correct me. Once I entered the cafe, a friendly young lady greeted me and asked, "How are you? Where would you like to sit?" Once at my table, she mentioned, "Coffee is self-serve and unlimited refills." You can choose from; "Mud Street Blend," "Dang Good Decaf," "Ethiopia," and "Guatemala." I tried the bold and dark flavors of, "Mud Street Blend," and it tasted very good. Offering Dark cherry, Smoky Overtone and Bakers Chocolate Notes. The menu selection is vast and offers so many good options. After spending some time, I finally settled on, "Grilled Tuna Sandwich." - $16.25 (Grilled 8oz Yellow Fin Tuna Steak on sourdough toast, with lettuce, tomatoes and red onions.) The sandwich was so big that I couldn't even finish my entire plate. But it had great flavors. Tuna was cooked to order and in the shape of a heart. Jennifer was my waitress. She also happens to own this wonderful, multi-year, Award Winning Restaurant. Just like the staff, Jennifer was very approachable and easygoing. Great service, BUSYYYY get there early and you barely have to wait for a small party, get there later on with a large group, prepare to be patient and quietly wait. The coffee bar is self serve and you get to choose as many syrups as you want, they bring it to you and you flavor your coffee to your preference! The portions were big, and the food was delicious. I got the honey mustard chicken sandwich which was just a chicken sandwich with mustard on the side. Cute place but down several stairs so if you can't do stairs be warned. We stopped in for breakfast, I would do it again. Ordered the all meat omelette with breakfast potatoes which came with toast too. Just a simple no frills breakfast omelette. Also had a pancake, which was as large as the plate. The pancakes are a special sour cream recipe and yummy. They can be ordered plain or with a variety of fruits and or nuts. Things here have gone downhill since the last time we dined here...... I ordered the ham and cheese omelet and my wife had sausage and eggs (over medium). My omelet was overcooked and my wife's eggs were cooked to a point where the yolk was hard. The sausage was so overdone you could not cut it with a fork, so our server offered bacon and fresh eggs. Bacon came back limp and undercooked and eggs were runny and undercooked. To top it off this place is filthy. Food on the walls and a bug smashed on the picture at our table. It was interesting. You walk down stairs inside to a dark dingy place. Self serve coffee station, menu a could barely see, and an occasional staff member check in. Hubs had biscuits and gravy. The sausage in the gravy had no flavor, literally none, like what is this? Also the bottom of the biscuits were burnt. I had the potato/bacon quiche. Definitely not bacon. So another mystery meat. The food was great but the COFFEE... Amazing! I ordered a salted caramel latte with oat milk and decaf and it was the best latte I've ever had. Enjoyed breakfast at the Mud St., Café. It was a hop in place for sure! Even though they were very busy, the staff was attentive. I had iced latte that was delicious. My husband enjoyed the coffee bar had several choices. He ordered the strawberry pancake and he had biscuits with sausage gravy. The biscuits was amazing! The gravy was good and the pancake was good. Overall it's a cute restaurant. The front door leads you down a steep, narrow staircase and the sitting area is cozy. Our group of 5 people all ordered coffee to go. It took a long time and there was a mixup in the process, but in all fairness, they were very busy. Our drinks looked Instagram worthy, but they were so sweet I actually couldn't finish mine. The others in our group had a similar experience. Coffee was pretty, super sweet, and very heavy on the whipped topping. If you want a cute drink then this is a good option. really cute little place but sadly disappointed in the food. the menu is limited and the options are strange. it's hard to mess up breakfast but somehow this place wasn't very good. $15 for an "omelette" that is just two eggs folded on top of some onions with vegetables on top. and almost every dish is about $13-15 and doesn't come with meat, sausage or bacon is an extra $2.50. im from out of state so maybe this is standard for the area, but i've never been anywhere like that for breakfast. we should have looked at the menu online before going. the food was also mediocre at best, the gravy not tasting homemade and the breakfast potatoes being bland. my husband got a latte and that wasn't bad. it wasn't horrible but i wouldn't go again, it's not worth the price. definitely a cute restaurant but a tourist trap for sure. read more

Stumbled upon the outside seating at Mud Street Cafe. It's a really unassuming little outside area (basically in a parking lot) which was perfect for me as I had my dog. The staff was friendly and brought my order to the table. I got the hummus salad which was a really unique salad experience. The hummus came loaded on top with fresh veggies and olives. They serve it with rye bread and an amazing balsamic on the side. I'd definitely recommend this place for a light, yummy lunch. And highly recommend it if you have a furry friend with you. read more
