Although I loved the service and it feels like a wonderful hometown diner, the food did not measure up. The catfish tasted freezer burnt like something you grabbed out of the very back of a grocery store freezer. Nothing tasted homemade and was so disappointing. We recently visited wagon wheel after a multi-year absence. I had a club sandwich with tater tots and my wife had the senior chicken liver lunch w mashed potatoes and white gravy and onion rings. I'm a sucker for good onion rings so I snuck a we off her plate and they were good - batter was nice and light. She enjoyed her livers and they were meaty! Mashed potatoes and gravy were good also. My club sandwich was good but not outstanding and my tater tots came out at least 5 minutes after the rest of our food arrived. Service was good but we weren't asked if we wanted dessert so that's why these little things made a 4 rating. read more

We have eaten Wagon Wheel a lot the past couple of years, it's always been good food and great service. The only thing I didn't care for was the fish still has the mud line and I can't do that with fish. read more

I swear I like this place better every time I go! Highly recommend their fried green tomatoes! It's an old school, campy, hole-in-the-wall! And I love it! Waitresses hustle and make sure your tea glass stays full! Friendly but they're not chatty (feature, not flaw). Prices are good Specials are always spot on. Especially love it when they have chicken and noodles (dumplings? Whatever - they're the thick noodle style). They have senior specials and LOTS of sides and veggies. Very eclectic mix of options - from salads to baked potatoes, open face hot beef to frog legs. On cold nights they have a REAL fire in the fireplace. They do an excellent job with larger groups and even have a back room (call in advance!) if you do separate billing food may come out staggered but it will be hot so I think that's better than cold or heat lamp dried out like most places do it. Walked in and the sign says "please seat yourself". We sat two tables away from such sign! We sat there and watched two groups come in after us get menus and drinks while we just sat there. One old black and grey haired waitress even said hello and kept on going.. If you don't sit in front of the register you'll not be seen! We walked out like ghosts! Wagon Wheel is very very good. The staff is great. Brian and Michelle are the best. If you want the best pie it's the place to go.

Service was slow, people arriving after us received their food orders after us even though our orders were taken first. Had to keep asking for coffee refills, which took a long time and still didn't happen until waitress dealt with her momma issue. read more

Talk about a fantastic find........this place is awesome! If your expectation is fancy, keep looking. If your expectation is a great meal at a very reasonable price, check this place out. Took the wife there for breakfast yesterday, and fantastic is the only way to describe it. My wife ordered the breakfast burrito, which was huge. Much unlike other places, there was sausage in every single bite she took, and it was cooked to perfection. I ordered the meat lover's omelet, which was the best I have had in quite some time. Biscuits were some of the best in NW Arkansas, but the gravy needed some salt. We're definitely going to try this place again....... read more

We are Wednesday lunch regulars and realized I had never left a review! If you like down-home, not fancy, really good food, this is the place. I can honestly say that my wife and I have never had a disappointing meal here. She is a picky grilled chicken sandwich connoisseur, and they always get it right. I usually go with the lunch specials but can vouch for the patty melt, Reuban, meatloaf, country fried chicken breast, and chicken livers - you get the picture, everything is just plain good. The service is always super friendly, just don't expect fancy. read more

They were very busy, and the service was somewhat slow but again they were very busy. They were very nice. Love the ambiance, like an old store/shop. I did have to ask for a tea refill. Food finally arrived and it was great. I do recommend but make sure you are not in a hurry if they are busy. read more

Food is good country food. Waitresses were very attentive. Place looks small but has multiple rooms.

The sausage I couldn't even eat a full patty it tasted bad. Frozen I am assuming. Eggs were bland. Hashbrowns weren't good. I would not go back here to have breakfast. Really good home cooking, this place hits the nail on the head. They offer daily specials or a variety of southern staples on the regular menu. Prices are affordable and portions are large. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich and it hit the spot. You can sub fries for sweet potato fries, tots, or sweet potato tots. How amazing! Food came out hot and fresh. I gave this place 4 stars because of my salad. Everything else was great. I had the open faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and a dinner salad. My salad was much to be desired. It was wilted and old looking. And the thousand island dressing tasted weird. But the rest of it was good. My husband had the catfish PoBoy which he said was good. My oldest had the kids pepperoni pizza and onion rings. The onion rings tasted amazing. Probably the best I'd ever had. My youngest had a hamburger and fries. Everyone liked their meals. Our waitress was very nice. And pregnant. I give her major props for working a job where you are on your feet all day while pregnant. The restaurant was cute. Kinda like a hole in the wall. Great home styled food quality while being relatively inexpensive. I went with some family and we tried: the fried green tomatoes, shrimp, chicken tenders, and loaded chili pie. You get quite the serving for what your order from the menu, so definitely show up hungry! I had the loaded chili pie, and it was enormous! Everyone really enjoyed their meals, but couldn't finish them due to being full and quite happy. This place is a very direct, no nonsense eatery. They serve very traditional home cooked country food that reminded me back home which does not make sense since I grew up in some third world Asian country. Nonetheless, it gave me the image of the Pioneer woman cooking a meal for me using her trusty iron skillet and lots of cooking oil and possibly a tub of butter. I got chicken fried steak here. It was nothing spectacular. I would rather get the chicken fried steak from Chili's. At least, theirs is as big as a hub cap (this was 10 yrs ago. Maybe they changed already). But, what I should have gotten here was their fried chicken. Thank goodness my GF ordered it. If you are a fan of ChickfilA you should get their fried chicken since they tasted similar, but I like Wagon Wheels' better. My GF even had a great idea. She placed one of the chicken breast between the dinner roll. It was just heavenly. I was sad that I ordered the wrong thing. I was jealous of the wise choice that my GF just made. Updating my review because several things have changed since my first one 3 years ago! They now have free WiFi, delivery through Door Dash, and offer a military discount! The food is still solid as always. I see a lot of the same waitstaff from the first time I ate here. Breakfast isn't 24/7- they stop at 10:45a. If you only look at the menu on here, you won't see all the daily specials that are written on a chalkboard hanging outside the kitchen- everything from lasagna, chicken pot pie, po boys, chicken salad, etc. You seat yourself & pay at the counter. Found this place today and my wife and I ate supper there. It's a great place to eat. Meatloaf and Chicken were both great. Brown Beans was as good as we make at home. Mashed potatos and brown gravy was top notch. Wife ate the possum pie and loved it. I had the fried snicker it was not like what I had ate before. Probably try a different dessert but overall it was just like my gramma made back in the day. Waitress was great really hustled and made sure everybody's drinks were always full. I went to Wagon Wheel Cafe 5/23/2020 and they let you sit inside if you have a mask, but we sat outside. The food was delicious! I used to work at Cracker Barrel for 5 years and this place has them beat! We had country fried steak and fried catfish, real mashed potatoes, real green beans not from a can, turnip greens, everything homemade plus the rolls were perfect! This has become one of our favorite eateries in NW Arkansas. Obviously a local favorite we are glad our family turned us into this place. The first time we ate here was for catfish dinner. We loved the dinner and the restaurant! While the menu had a variety of tempting options the farm raised catfish was highly recommended by our uncle, a local expert. The food was delicious (catfish and sweet potato fries!) and the staff friendly, prompt, and efficient. This trip we stopped in for breakfast. Again, they offer a wide variety of delicious menu items. Everything from grits (one ordered them southern traditional and another ordered them with butter and sugar)and oatmeal, eggs and meat, to French toast. Our party of 8 tried a bit of it all and everyone proclaimed it wonderful. We will definitely keep The Wagon Wheel on our list of faves in the area. read more

Love this little hole in the wall mom and pop place. Pull up and it's super country. Everything from the cute signs outside to the rocking chairs and siding on the walls. Walk in, and sat ourselves. Seating every where. Big open floor plan to fit over a hundred people easy. Small two tops to bigger tables to seat six. We pick a table, and pop a squat. Our waitress comes over and she's super southern and nice, huge smile on her face. We order waters and coffee to start, which comes quick. We came for the breakfast, so that's what we ordered. I had the 2 egg platter which is what my date had as well. We both ordered our eggs over easy with hash browns. I had the bacon and he had the ham. He ordered a side of grits as well. Oh and our dish also came with another side, so we ordered the biscuits and gravy. Our food came and it was nice and neat. The eggs were perfectly cooked to order. The bacon wasn't too crispy, just right. The hash browns you could tell were NOT frozen from a bag, they were fresh. The grits were even good too, tasted super fresh. And the best for last, the biscuits and gravy was amazing! I'm picky on my gravy, and theirs was amazingly good! A couple of good pieces of sausage, thick and flavorful. And the biscuit was soft and perfectly textured and delicious. I WILL BE BACK!!! read more

I really wanted to like this place. We went in for lunch one day and it was pretty good. My husband had frog legs and I had a wrap. A few weeks later we went back for breakfast. We had biscuits and gravy, eggs, pancakes I would say our meal was below average no flavor to the gravy didn't even taste like sausage everything was just mediocre. Very good Catfish, I go there at least one Friday a month for their catfish dinner. They offer all you can eat but I get stuffed on just the dinner! We love their pies!
