Definitely a good place to shop for your pet needs. They have great selection to shop for. Store is clean and big. Customer service is wonderful, very helpful and knowledgeable. Downside: parking spot. But if you don't have any problem in parking, then... no issue. Still I would recommend this place and I am happy that we have it here at Meridian. read more

This was the first Mud Bay I've been in. this store was the cleanest pet store I've been in and the people were friendly.

When I first came to mud bay I loved the Staff and how kind and friendly they would be...the past couple of times the workers have been rude or offered no help at all, today I came in as a loyal customer and i wasn't greeted at all as usual..the stocker said hi to me and my dog. My dog chewed up her lid to her treat box and i asked for a new lid , I even said id pay for the lid...Amanda *the one at register who didn't say anything when I walked in rudely said she can't because they only get the exact amount of lids for containers I said I would pay for a lid and was even going to buy a whole new container and lid ...learn better customer service yall! but truly I wanted to get out of there I'll just buy her a treat jar instead and I'll start going to pet pros! Awesome friendly stuff, a little bit pricey but great alternative to Petco. I came here to get stuff for my rabbit, the employee was very knowledgable and even gave me suggestions. I will definetely come back for more rabbit stuff when needed. Only bad thing there was not big bags of hay, only medium size, but its good enough for now. read more

Cool stuff but not worth dealing with the staff. Really bad energy. I understand about Convid-19. But to be virtually tackled to wash my hands and sanitize them at the door by management would not be such of a big deal of I wasn't spoken too like a some simple minded peasant. I've already told the store manager who was standing RIGHT THERE while the shop girl, who was at the middle cashier register wasn't rude. (Spoiler: she was rude) Before I step in: I am told at the front door that I must wash and sanatize my hands. I was actually taken back by that. I was in my own train a thought and I was looking for a novelty item for my dog. The way how they have the store set up so they can pounce on you immediately to sanitize yourself before entering- very off putting. Me: "WHOA! (very surprised) you guys look like you're going to jump on me! Girl at center register (as she's rubbing hand sanitizer on some shelf labels)aka 'shop girl' . Her: "Convid-19 is a very dangerous disease and we would like to not get it so we are tell you you to wash your hands." (I look at the manager.) He then said: or use the hand sanitizer.... Okay. I use the hand sanitizer. Shop Girl: Her "Yeah, because it's super dangerous and we don't want to get sick." Me: "Okay. I get that." The shop girl proceeded to tell me more about the coronavirus and how I am risk factor and she doesn't want to get sick. At some point in this conversation in-between her handwashing shaming me (even though I did use the hand sanitizer. Same one she is using to wipe down labels.) about knowing the proper coronavirus etiquette because clearly, she as a shop girl and me as a business owner/former shop person and retail expertise of 20 years- clearly her brain is supersized compared to my small little peasant brain.l and therefore more superior than everyone on the planet. So I say okay. She keeps going. I wasn't about to mention what I noticed, which was unnecessary hostility coming from the shop girl. I decide to say something to the manager. I told him there is absolutely no reason for her to have the very last word to everything I say. She made her point. I did the thing. That should be it. Her: okay Me: you're doing it right now. Do you see this? Her: yes Me: okay. So you made your point. No reason to continue this conversation. Her: okay. After thinking for a moment: I'm not going to spend money at this store. Nor would I this company at this point. Me: I'm not shopping here. This isn't worth my time or energy. Shop girl: Bye. Yes. Little shop girl (all of 20 years old.) I heard you. I understood that you don't want to be there. That you would rather be at home. Infact you are the main reason why I am writing this negative review. You have no right to make me feel bad about myself or to be hostile towards me. None. You have no right to talk down to me. Did you think I wouldn't respond back to your petty, passive aggressive behavior? Did you think I wouldn't notice? What gives you the right to think you can speak to anyone with that tone? It wasn't about the coronavirus. This was about the fact you were being short sighted and judgmental. Good job to the manager and assistant manager. You guys have STELLAR staff. Do you talk to everyone this way or just the people who you think doesn't have money? I live in the expensive apartments next door. Paying my own rent with my own money. I also have a cat with renal failure. So in a pinch it would have been nice to know what stock you carry for him if I can't travel out to where I get his food normally. But whatever. Obviously I looked like a dirty, lowly peasant to queen supreme shop girl. You guys don't need my money. Mud bay: if your employees are not essential maybe you should follow what the governor is saying and close shop until this is over. This is happening nation wide and your employees are frightened of getting sick. Maybe care more about them instead of having a hostile employees who fear of getting sick.or.bringing the virus home and getting their family sick. You shouldn't force them to put their lives on the line for $14/hr. read more

I love mud bay! So many delicious and nutritious snacks for my puppy. The staff here is friendly and informative. I went in looking for a specific collar for my dog, only to find they were out of the size I needed. They offered to order it in for me and have it there in 2 days, alternately offered to check stock at other stores as well. Buy something your dog/pet doesn't like? Mud bay will take it back no questions asked. What more could you ask for? read more

I really love this pet food store! They have a ton of really great food options here. The treats are wonderful too! The people who work here really seem to care about pets, and have always been helpful when we've had questions about food. I'm not a fan of the Puyallup location unfortunately. I've come to notice a lot of them have attitudes towards certain guests. Within my first month of being w mud bay I spent about 200 collectively mainly at the Puyallup location. Iva also shopped At the university place division store and I absolutely love them and their vibes over there!! The Puyallup location seems to be on a high horse of some kind and to be honest I've been debating on just making the extra trip after work to the division store. When I first started shopping w mud bay I had gone to the division store after work, heard all about what you guys do and fell in love!!! Decided to go locally since it was closer, on the way to and from work. The first time I went a really nice lady was able to help me point out some good items and then later on a nice gentle man was able to help me set up a cat feeding chart of some sort. One of my only issues here is almost every time I check out, my phone number either isn't entered in right and I'm not asked again or something happens because I give them my number but I'm not getting receipts online, or in store. I went in to do a return and was refused. Which isn't a part of your policy, I had my phone number that I purchased them with. I had also returned I believe two or three things I had gotten the last time so I had to have given them my number for the transaction because I also didn't have a receipt for those and she found them in my account. She also asked for my id which is normal for a non receipt return right but she barely even looked at it let alone scan it ?? But regardless I was trying to return cat food my cat tends to not favor and was told no, I had the card I purchased w and I had a phone number that it should have been under. I also tend to get profiled at a lot of stores which is fine I usually wear baggy hippie pants and I have a little kanken backpack on. This isn't too important in the review but I like to put that in there cause it does get tiring after some time, being repetitively asked if I need help. They do have honest kitchen for cats at this location though unlike division! They also have more freezer space for cats and dogs so that's also a plus for them and or anyone else who may need it! I really hate leaving somewhat bad reviews I just wish they were a little more welcoming and nice. read more

I've driven by Mud Bay stores and have always been curious and so glad I finally stopped into this location. First, the store is large and spacious and very clean. For a pet store it does not have that funky animal smell like most pet stores. Second, the staff there is AMAZING and very knowledgeable and let even let you ramble on a bit about your pet. Third, I LOVE their huge selection of dog food (dry and canned) and I was surprised they sell the Salmon flavor of the brand I usually buy for my dogs. Petco NEVER carries that flavor. They also had a pretty good selection of collars and the treat options are endless. I may never return to big chain pet stores! read more

This place just plain out rocks! My dogs love going in there and the staff is amazing! We got a new, albino, Pit-bull puppy who was having some issues adjusting to a new house and new food. We took Arturo (Artie as my sons call him) into Mud Bay to see if there was different food we could get him and get some advice. They not only took care of us with samples and educated us on what to look for in food, but called us a few days later to check and see how he was doing! That's right people... a for-profit, retail store actually cares about your animal's health. I know that the pet food is more expensive there but, I am telling you, you should consult them about what is in the standard brand name stuff. It is totally worth the extra money to know your animals are eating healthily. Anyway... what makes this place awesome in my mind is the employees. Try them out and bring your pets, they love to meet them. read more

Confronted at door with hand sanitizer!!! I was wearing a mask of which I shouldn't because of health reasons but you get so tired of explaining...many shops are militant about masks and now hand sanitizer...just where do you get off assuming that someone who comes to spend money in your store is full of germs LOL and doesn't take the virus seriously...I take steps you wouldn't know or understand as prevention and it's none of your business...I will never shop at this store again...by your militant actions you have quite effectively lost another good paying customer...if you're sooooo afraid of getting sick, then you're in the wrong business...you should just close up shop and live in a bubble... read more

Love this place - the staff is incredibly helpful. Our dog is a very picky eater, and they helped us find a hard food that he loves. We were able to take home samples, and you're always welcome to bring something BACK if your animal doesn't love it. I think that is such a great bonus! Such a great place! I have an Australian Cattle Dog who is getting little late in her years. Sometimes she has trouble eating hard dog food. I was told to check out Mud Bay for some advice on switching her to something better. I went in there for the first time earlier this week and was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted by cheery staff when I walked in. After perusing their dog treats for a few moments, I was checked up on by Kyle, one of the sale associates. I told him about my situation and he was happy to show me a number of different foods that would be good options for me. Beyond that, he also explained why each food is helpful. There is so much more to dog food than I realized. Kyle was happy to take the time to answer all my questions and even gave me free samples of food to test out. On top of that, I was also sent home with a $5 "first timer" coupon just for swinging by. I didn't end up buying anything but I plan on coming back and purchasing the food my Bella likes best as soon as she tries all the samples I was given. Mud Bay has a huge selection of healthy dog food, including freeze fried food with chunks of turkey and beef that you add water to. Their staff are highly educated and very helpful. I highly recommend Mud Bay, especially if you are having trouble with your pets diet. read more

The people here are so sweet and passionate for animals. They also give you a $5 off coupon for your first purchase! I was surprised and impressed - it was in a cute envelope written "Welcome" on it. So nice! I would say that if you have a good nose and you just ate a meal... don't come inside, or just let your food sit for a little bit. I'm not sure how clean the store was, but upon walking in, all I smelled was feces. It didn't make any sense since they give complimentary doggy bags, but it could have been careless customers. Anyways, they have an ARRAY of dog kibble, treats, and even ice cream! Such a fun store to browse when you want to spoil your pup. Love it here, and will definitely make another trip soon! read more

I love Mud Bay. It could just be the staff at this location, but every time I come in, I leave with a smile on my face. They are always so willing to help and knowledgeable about the products. It's important to me to feed my 2 cats high quality food and it wasn't easy to find what works best for them. With that in mind, Mud Bay would take back open bags of food that didn't work for us. We're now happily into a good groove that works well for my tabby and black cat. They also have a huge selection of toys for cats and dogs, among other awesome products! I adopted a 10 year old rescue poodle who was diagnosed with chronic bronchitis. Even after putting her on medication, she coughed constantly. My vet then suggested food allergies could be behind the coughing. I was looking for a food free of grains, beef, chicken -- SO many things! I went into Mud Bay where the staff was friendly and VERY helpful! After receiving many samples to try, I found THE one Molly loved and could eat! And as a bonus, my other dogs like it, too!! I didn't realize this location was there til I Googled it and I was a happy camper that I didn't have to drive all the way to University Place. Anyhoo...... love Mud Bay. The employees are always welcoming and helpful. They are very knowledgeable about the various products they carry. Plus any suggestions have always been great. I am about to transition my furbabies to a raw food diet and was given instructions on the best way to do this which to me is a huge plus. I doubt I would've received the same had I gone to Petco. It's great to go into a store where they know and understand that furbabies are our children. Yes their prices are a little more but you're getting quality products and a learning lesson. I am definitely willing to pay a little more. Plus the employees don't act like you're bothering them when you ask a question. read more
