This store is adorable and absolutely perfect! It's like Willy Wonkas Factory for my dogs. They always get to pick out their own treats and toys. I love how they put all the different treats that you bag on your own near the floor so the pups can pick their own. My bully wants to try em all. My Labrador picked out herself some 12" sealed beef straps so I know that's what she really wanted (because she loved it through the cellophane.) Did you know your dog gets a free mini dog ice cream on their birthday? Neither did I! We were excited to pick a bacon cheese one out for her. I was also excited to find out that 12" twisted fish skins are only 99 cents. I went a little crazy buying goodies for the birthday girl and my other 2 fur babies. My bully is now eaten 6 this week. Haha. This is just a simple little experience that I can give my dog on her special day. We will definitely be back more than once a year for my good girls. The cashiers are absolutely amazing and friendly. They treated my dogs like their own. read more

Love this location and the staff. I have been going here for about two years now and I've always found the staff to be warm and welcoming and very helpful with any questions I have. They really go out of their way To ensure a great experience for all customers. The store is laid out in an intelligent manner where they separate wet and dry food by pet. They're also lots of options for treats and toys. You can get a free sample of most treats when you get rung up at the register. If you haven't tried this place I highly recommend it. You and your pet will not be sorry. read more

I went her while my cat was having surgery so I was a bit of a train wreck. The amazing service BLEW MY MIND which is almost impossible since I have a background in teaching customer service at a Fortune 100 company with high expectations. Coco is the person who helped me and went out of her way to answer all of my many question with a lot of depth but in the right way and without providing a lot of superfluous information. She would come with me to the product, show me and explain. If she didnt know, she would figure it out, ask or research. With the way she intereacted with me, you could tell she actually really cared about providing a quality experience for me and making sure I got what I needed (info or product). And I could tell, she was really educated in the animals they sold products for as well as the products they sold People in customer service roles just do not provide even close to the type of experience she provided. If I had a business where I needed someone with her work ethic, quality or skills that could be transferred, I would snatch her up. Thank you Coco! Came in about 4 o'clock on a Wednesday evening. Not the "warm" and "welcoming" Mudbay experience unfortunately. Staff member that helped me checkout was not friendly, looked like the manager too but not entirely sure. During the checkout process I asked if I could provide my number for my frequent buyer credits. She responded she could no longer input the number as the transaction was completed, don't even think she apologized. First time I ever experienced something like this here. read more

My all time favorite pet store. They thoroughly research and vet all their products to offer the best quality items at a reasonable prices. They also carry and support some great local product lines. I've been to many locations and they all hire the most friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. My last visit in I was looking for some boots to help keep my dog's wrapped injured foot dry when we went outside and a sock with grip on the bottom to help keep him from chewing the bandages. The socks I found were perfect and less expensive than on Amazon. I wasn't able to bring my dog in that day so the boots didn't fit but they have a phenomenal return policy similar to REI 100% satisfaction. They truly are in the business of caring for the needs of you and your pet. read more

Went to get treats for dogs and our cat. The employees there are so very helpful they get everyone and every animal who enters. Seems they answered every question I had and even as we were checking out she made sure to let me know that their pig ears for dogs are double tested so we are safe from salmonella. read more

Heather from the maple valley location just went above and beyond and walked around for about a half an hour with myself and my kids. She educated us and listened with care, she gave expert knowledge so we could make a good decision with all the product we were buying. It was funny because she also had a German Shepherd just like us! She helped us with both our cat and our dogs needs. Prior to being a pet owner I had no idea what Mud Bay was. But I received very personalized service from the coupons I had obtained. I walked in with an offer for free litter and some food samples and walked out with all kinds of samples to try first before wasting a coupon. Staff took considerable time asking what the pet was currently eating and what they seemed to prefer (pâté, chunked, or dry). The food samples were tailored to fit the needs. Will return to get further cans. Some of the pet food was from specialty brands that I don't think can be obtained from PetSmart or Petco. I took some of the pet food samples and placed three of them side by side on the floor. Each time the cat sniffed and chose a specific brand, that told me right away what to buy. It was some sort of natural meat based duck baked brand. (sorry, dont remember the brand). Prior to this visit, my priorities didn't matter if the brand was grain based, but I will now reconsider these specialty brands for sure. The coupon for free litter was for the natural corn/wheat stuff. I tried the Worlds Best cat litter corn clumping formula in a 16 lb bag. The coupon was for a smaller bag, but if you decide to substitute, it's adaptable to a $5 coupon. That is a nice touch for Mud Bay to offer flexibility like that. I reluctantly tried it to see how it performed over clay clumping. Although it seemed to be a bit disappointing, I appreciate the coupon and will switch back to clay. Will return to Mud Bay again soon. read more

First time going into a Mud Bay & I was very impressed. Beautiful store. Mallory was extremely welcoming and helpful, as well as everyone else! I was impressed with the high quality selections of raw food they had. Since it was my first time in, they sent me home with a welcome card that included a coupon and a couple samples! This place is great. The employees are so knowledgeable and take time answering all my questions. I have been fortunate to get Jacob and he always gives me the best information on everything pertaining to my shih tzu. I have had all the employees at one time or another and each one of them has had so much training I totally trust the things they tell me . I will not shop anywhere else as nothing beats Mub Bay in the knowledge department. I hope the employees are earning a good living here as they make things really easy for us customers. This store has an excellent selection of pet products. I had spent over 15 minutes looking at different pet foods and was not offered any help nor was I asked if I was finding everything okay. Once I went up to talk to the staff member at that store she was was knowledgeable and nice. They loaded me up with a lot of free samples. I would have liked more initial help and this has been the case every time I visit this location. Their product selection is good and the staff is knowledgeable once you get them talking. read more

I usually go to the Kent location, but sometimes stop in at the Maple Valley one when running errands nearby. I waited to write this review to be fair and to see if my experiences were the same each time I stopped by there. The store has a large selection of products. Very large store and everything is spaced and laid out nicely. I wasn't disappointed about their products, but more of their customer service. Each time I have gone there, I didn't receive a greeting or been offered any help. As I watched, they weren't very consistent. They greeted some people that entered the store, and not others. I didn't feel welcome or valued as a customer at this store. Until I went up to the cash register, the employees were all doing something else - they might be talking with each other, at other times one might be standing at the cash register looking bored, or walking past customers and ignoring them and continuing to do what they were doing in the aisles. I wish I could say that this was a one time occurrence, but, it wasn't. I truly love Mud Bay, but this one isn't my favorite store and one that I would go out of my way to go to. read more

My neighbor introduced me to the Mud Bay experience while I was frantically looking for ANYTHING my picky-eater kitty would eat. These folks are the BEST!!! For several months they worked with me on this issue while my cat progressed through his advanced kidney disease. There were days, when I thought all was lost, that a trip to Mud Bay made all the difference in the world. Jen in particular worked above and beyond the call of duty; she related to my issue for she had a similar problem with her cat at home. Unfortunately, my fur baby has crossed the Rainbow Bridge this week but I am forever grateful for all the kindness and supportive assistance provided to me at this location. Thanks, guys. You made a very stressful situation so much easier to handle by continually coming up with new ideas/products/samples to stimulate his appetite. His last few months were far more comfortable with your terrific support. As for the practical stuff: location is easy to access, lots of parking, great hours, abundant selection of everything from food to toys, spotless facility, reasonable prices, and I've already told you how wonderful the staff is. Mud Bay was very helpful when we had a flea explosion. They counseled me through the use of natural products. Only down side none of them worked. I had to hit the vet for the toxic stuff to get this undercontrol but will use the natural products ongoing. Nice staff and like the customer service. read more

By far the best pet store I've ever been in. The staff is extremely knowledgable and truly carrying about your pet. The gal who helped me really educated me on the different types of food and gave me several samples for my dog to try. She also gave me some great suggests for my dogs itchy fur, far better help than the vet has ever given me. For the first time in 6 years my dogs ear infections have cleared up without medication, all done by the help of the Mud Bay employee! I will never shop anywhere else. read more
