This place is right next door to the brand new Dollar Tree in Baytown. I liked that I could do a little shopping next door after eating a nice Mexican meal. I also love that this place has a bar in the back and very decently priced drinks. We got an appetizer, two full meals, and a frozen margarita for 36$! Very affordable.
We started off with the cheese, red salsa and green sauces with chips. I hated the red salsa because it was so generic and the green sauce was not the kind for dipping. It was the kind that you add to some tacos or burritos. The cheese was actually pretty good and they offered us free refills (we went through three). We also ordered a half order of the fajita nachos and although they were decent, the meat was hard and they were so bland. There wasn't enough guacamole to add to all of the nachos and they were stingy on the cheese. I doubt that I would order these gain.
My husband ordered the chile relleno with ground beef and I ordered the quesadilla plate with a side of charro beans. My quesadillas were actually quite good, if not a little bland. Everything needed to be seasoned a bit more for my liking. My husband did NOT like his chile relleno. He said it was very plain and there was no white cheese sauce that is usually smothered on top of the relleno. It didn't have a good flavor at all and he would not order it again. It did come with a red sauce but it tasted just like Pace picante.
We also didn't enjoy our unsweetened tea as they were very weak and had too much water. My frozen strawberry-mango margarita had great flavor but WAY too much alcohol. I do appreciate that it was not pre-mixed like the usual restaurants. The service was great and both of our waitresses were super friendly and on top of their game. I will be coming back to try out the rest of the menu and maybe get another margarita.....with less alcohol added. read more
