The entire operation felt organized, efficient, and professional. You could tell this was a legitimate business that takes pride in its work and in how it presents itself at a customer's home. Rick came out and gave me an estimate and knew exactly what I was looking to have done. I was happy with the price that was quoted and decided to hire them to do the work. Richard was very responsive with all the questions that I had. They even laid out the complete payment schedule which started with a small deposit to hold our spot in line. We were put on a wait list for several weeks, but that was fine with me. As we neared our start date, Richard was in contact with me to make sure we knew exactly when I needed to be ready for his crew. On the first day, they showed up early and put in a full day. That same standard and work ethic continued until the retaining wall was completed, which took about 5 days. One other important thing I want to mention. Rick knew that I was planning to build a 70 ft long wood fence on top of the wall myself. I had mentioned that I wasn't sure how I was going to pick up all the wood for the job. Without hesitation, Rick offered to drive me to Home Depot in his large truck to pick it all up as just a favor to me when I was ready. He kept his word and his guys even unloaded all of it for me. It's not every day that you meet a guy like Rick who is willing to help out someone during his super busy schedule. I even tried to give him gas money, but he said, "it wouldn't be a favor if I accepted your money". With all that said, the work that A&R did was top notch. Would I hire them again? ABSOLUTELY. The crew worked extremely hard, even in very hot weather, and stayed on the job until everything was completed. They worked quickly and stayed within the requirements and specifications we had for the project. This maybe a long read but it's 100% non-solicited review of a fantastic contractor. I recently was introduced to Big Johnson's Concrete and Pumping through my pool contractor. We needed to get our driveway replaced. Kevin came in and bid the job and provided a very reasonable and respectable quote which included the driveway approach/apron. In my city, public works scrutinizes the contractors for approach work thankfully. The other competing contractors on my job would not take not the approach work for either not possessing the proper bond or expertise. Kevin worked with the city and our HOA to get on board. The work came out so well the Public Works department provides Big Johnson's as a referral for other residents looking to pull an approach permit/plan. The driveway worked out so well I contacted Kevin two months later to tackle the hardscape work for my front yard landscape/hardscape project. He just finished up a fantastic wash finish expanded front porch and walkways. I couldn't be happier. His crew is fast and work well together. The guys putting down the forms know what they're doing getting proper grades and pitches set for water sheeting. The finishers are top notch and have a great attention to detail.
