Bay Hill is the best driving school in the Bay Area. I know that's saying a lot, but truth be…read moretold, I had such a great experience here. I'm a freshly 20 year old female without any experience behind the wheel, and I mean any!! Unfortunately, my nerves got the best of me during my first lesson and I freaked out. I caused myself and my instructor some stress, and sadly I was unmotivated to drive for a while. Before I left a negative review, I contacted Bay Hill's through email. They made things right and scheduled my second appointment with JP, and he was fantastic! I went from shaking like a leaf behind the wheel to having genuine confidence in 2 hours-- No exaggeration! We drove around and shared a heartfelt conversation, in which he also shared some tips on lane switching and turns. Halfway through our session, we stopped for water and stretches, so I knew my comfortability was respected. The negative reviews on this business are so upsetting. This is an excellent Asian-owned, woman-owned small business with so much diversity on their staff. If your first lesson goes awry, contact them!!! They are bound to have someone you are comfortable with. This is an honest review! I could not recommend Bay Hill Driving School enough!

She would smack gum, eat food, and generally had an attitude of not caring. Only until my last class did she run me through a couple of rules but I never really learnt anything under her teaching. It was high pressure and everything I learned was like being tested without knowing there was a test or what the material was on. The only saving grace here is that the people at the office are great, they kindly signed my second permit and gave me another learning certificate for $25 when I lost my first one. I would shop around for a better driving school before settling on this one.

When I first booked the behind the wheel for my child with Lindsey, I made an agreement for 3…read morelessons package at a certain price. Because I was uneasy paying up front for all 3 lessons, Lindsey said I could pay for each lesson by check at the time of my appointment. This sounded great. Bill ended up being my child's driving instructor for the first lesson. Like other people have said, he did have his hand on the steering wheel most of the time, not allowing my child to have their own control. I thought this was weird, but honestly, I just needed the lesson for dmv purposes. Fast forward to several months later and I try to book the last 2 lessons. Because it's a new year now, the male on the phone said the price had gone up. I understand. The price went up. But I already had made a pre existing agreement with Lindsey, so my initial quoted prices should be locked in and honored. I already had the first lesson. The male on the phone was very insistent that even though I had spoken with Lindsey on pricing, I still have to pay the new increased price. Now how is this fair? I'm still waiting to hear back from him...so we shall see how great of a company they are....or how money hungry they really are.

My daughter just finished her second lesson with Shelley. What I really liked about this school:…read more 1) They encourage the parent to go along on the drive so you can learn how to instruct your child and be consistent with what the instructor is emphasizing. 2) There was no down time sitting in the car listening to the instructor. The two hour driving lesson was spent with my child driving - that's what I paid for! 3) The lessons have been challenging. I can do the easy stuff with my child; I want the two hour lesson to bring her to the next level. Shelley had her practice what she would need to know for the test and also what she would need to know for real driving (freeway lane changes, merging, narrow mountain road, etc.). 4) I also liked that I paid per lesson and didn't get hooked into three lessons from the beginning. Yes. we will do all three lessons with Shelley, but if the first lesson hadn't gone well then we didn't have any commitment. 5) My daughter's review "Ms. Shelley is a hoot. No really, she's a good teacher." Before the first lesson, my daughter was very scared. She even asked if she could cancel it. Shelley put her in the driver seat quickly, so she didn't have time to increase her anxiety. Shelley stayed calm and gave her confidence pointing out how well she was doing. And like I said, Shelley made it challenging (from Danville drove South Gate to North Gate roads then down Ygnacio through Walnut Creek) so that no matter where I took her during our practice in between lessons I could just refer back to her lesson and say this isn't as hard as what you did on your lesson.

First let me say that I am SO happy that Vallejo has a JC!!!…read more It's conveniently located by the automalls off of the freeway. They don't have a huge campus but it's big enough for me. "40,000 square feet of classrooms, science and computer labs, an auditorium and a mmuli-use facility serving the physical education, dance and theatre programs." You're able to take the assessment tests here on select day and they have the financial aid help here also. You still have to purchase your textbooks at the main campus (Fairfield) bookstore or online @ http://www.solano.edu/bookstore/ I've taken off a star for two reasons. Firstly, the changes made to registering for classes is beyond confusing. It wasn't easy before and now it's so frustrating that had I not figured it out I might have just said forget it and not gone back to school. After tinkering and clicking here and there and demanding to be walked through a couple things over the phone (hehe I'm kinda mean but I need help and I'm not afraid to say it) I was registered for classes and able to figure out what I needed to do to recieve financial aid. Ok, my other gripe.. The soda machine!! I don't drink soda I drink water. I think that BOTH machines should have water available in the case that one stops working (which it did) there will be another machine available to get water from. OR how about the school can equip themselves with a refridgerator stocked with waters to sell to the students to that the school can make a little more money. I was VERY upset when I put my money in the machine (inside the school) and it just took it.. so why I put more money in in the hopes that MAYBE it might give me the water I so desired I have no idea.. And when I asked about it I was told that an "out of order" sign was being printed as we spoke. I asked for compensation and I was told there was nothing that could be done. I suggested that when the company comes to fix it maybe they could set aside a few waters for those of us who wasted our money in there and I could recieve a voucher.. no such luck. I was told I should write a letter but instead I figure I can bring my own water. Soda isn't assisting the american obesity problem but I'm only a student so what do I know?

I genuinely like attending Solano Community College. The campus environment is great, and I've had…read morea positive experience overall with the classes I've taken here. However, there are some major administrative and counseling bottlenecks that desperately need to be addressed. First, the certificate processing timeline is incredibly frustrating. Even if you have completed all the required courses numerous semesters prior, you are left waiting for more than 4 months just for a Certificate of Achievement to be processed. For students trying to jump into the workforce or move forward with their careers, this kind of delay is unacceptable. Second, dealing with the counseling department can be a real headache. Many of the counselors seem to have very little knowledge about specific program requirements, and you often get the run-around when you're simply trying to get clear answers to achieve your educational goals. You really have to do your own heavy lifting and research to make sure you're on the right track. I want to love SCC, but the school really needs to step up its administrative efficiency and better train its counseling staff to support students who are doing the work to graduate.
