I had high hopes from the previous reviews. We set an appointment about a month in advance because he was traveling out of the country; however, no one showed up when it was time for the appointment. He was supposed to pick me up and drop me off at my house. I tried calling and emailing to find out what happened but received no response. I went with EZ Driving School, as they got me scheduled on the same day and also did pick up/drop off at my house. From reading all the reviews, I'm sure there was a valid reason, but I'm a stickler for if you say you're going to do something, then do it and if there's an issue, then just contact me to give me a heads up. read more

I am 35 years old and today I got my driver's license. Many years ago when I was learning to drive a car I had an accident that blocked me so much that I was never able to drive a car again (until now). I panicked at the thought of driving a car. Since then I only drove motorcycles, but this year I was "forced" to learn to drive a car. Peter is awesome! My son's DMV behind the wheel test was cancelled in March due to COVID. The DMV gave him a 24 hour notice on a Friday afternoon for his rescheduled test on Saturday. We panicked as he had not had his required 3rd driving lesson. The school that provided the first 2 lessons were not helpful at all. I hadn't met Peter until today. I called him Friday evening and he rearranged his schedule to help my son. He absolutely understood the emotional piece of waiting so long for a driver's license and seeing it slip away. It does not end there. Peter spent 2 hours preparing my son for the test. He was patient, calming and according to my son very easy to talk with. Peter has shown not only exemplary instruction but a skill for relating to 16 year olds. I definitely recommend Formula Driving and Peter! read more

My daughter had two lessons with Peter. He was friendly and did come recommended by a friend. We were told that she needed to complete her hours, schedule her DMV driving test, then call to schedule her final lesson. With her high school and college classes taking up much of her time, it took her some time to complete her hours and then schedule her test. We called Peter to schedule her final lesson and he was out of the country for the holidays and a vacation. He would not return for two months, had no way to contact him, and stated in his message that no messages would be heard so do not leave a message. She was not able to make her driving test, her permit expired, she was required to take the written test again AND, because he was not available to verify lessons were taught, she had to take the lessons again. This was absolutely unprofessional. At a MINIMUM, I would have expected he contact his clients he was working with the inform them of his trip and give a heads up. She ended up going to another school, with multiple instructors and had a wonderful experience. The instruction was clearer, more detailed, and included information on DMV test routes and advice. Peter contributed to a stressful situation and would certainly not be recommended. He spent far too much time telling me how he was the best when we met but having experienced another school, he's certainly not. I wish him the best but I would go elsewhere. read more

I am very disappointed in Formula One Driving School. I was very excited when I scheduled my first appointment with Peter. I had read all the positive Yelp reviews which had motivated me to call and schedule an appointment. The main issue that I noticed was that Peter did not teach me the basics in our first lesson. Peter was constantly braking, and not letting me control the wheel myself. At times, Peter would yell at me or get angry when I made small errors. At more than one point, Peter drove the vehicle himself and did not even let me drive. Through the whole lesson, we only stuck to one small residential area. At the end of our first session, I felt like I did not learn anything or make any improvements. However, I thought I should give him another chance and scheduled another appointment after the first lesson. Peter then called me to let me know he was sick, and that he could not make it to our second appointment. Peter stated that he would call me to reschedule our appointment. After 3 weeks, I called Formula One myself, and did not receive a call back or any reply from the driving school. After my experience with Formula One, I realized that this driving school has unacceptable customer service, and behind the wheel training. Peter has only increased my anxiety, and has made driving very difficult for me. I am not sure how all these positive Yelp reviews came about, they are deceptive and misleading. read more

I came to Peter after failing the first test since it was apparent that the first three schools were not helpful. My experience with his lessons was wonderful since he taught me great techniques that you would not learn from just learning from your parents and he made me feel comfortable behind the wheel. I have 2 older children of whom I used different driving schools. I must say Formula One is by far the best I have experienced. My youngest daughter was very nervous to start behind the wheel but came back super confident. Which is great but what impressed me most was after each session Peter would walk her to the door and give us a report card. What she did well and what we need to work on with her. He asked if we had questions or concerns. The other companies just drove off and my child would have to tell me the experience. My daughter passed her test on the first attempt I believe in part it was his instruction and because we knew what to work on with her. I would recommend this company over any other. Hello CREEPY! Let me break this down. When you're in the business of being entrusted with parents most valuable possession (their children), you answer parents question. Especially basic questions.l!!! So I'll back track here for a moment. My son was setup for behind the wheel drivers training this morning. We were all super excited. The gentleman "Peter" arrives on time, great! So far so good. I walk out to introduce myself and ask some basic questions. "Peter," (mind you before I even said hello) was visibly uncomfortable. Struck me as odd, but I set my thoughts aside an introduced myself and asked him how long he anticipated being gone with my son and if they would be doing drivers training in town or on the highways as well? "Peter" apparently did not like these questions for some reason and refused to give me any information beyond that they would be driving downtown. Ok great, you'll be driving downtown, super! "Will you be going anywhere else, like on the highway?" Also, how long will you At this point he became agitated, refused to answer and left. BYE FELIPE or Peter! There is NO excuse for you not to answer a parents questions! For you to be paid and trusted with MY CHILD, be prepared to answer a parents questions. The only reason not to would be because there's something you're not completely comfortable with answering. We, just hired ASTAR and will NEVER use Formula One again. read more

I just had to write another review for my other son who took a driving lesson with Peter. I cannot praise Formula One enough. His number one goal is to produce safe, smart, sensible drivers. He is an actively engaged instructor, constantly providing tips and techniques in a calm, jovial manner. As a result, the student is comfortable, calm and able to think clearly which is why he produces excellent drivers. The son who took a lesson from him 2 years ago is an accident-free driver, one of the safest drivers I know.
