Very fun to go out into the orchard and pick your own apples or peaches or pears or plums. Flowers Upick are $1 a stem and this all with an absolutely gorgeous backdrop of Mt Hood.

Apples and pears

Overall had a great experience and tons of variety. Some trees may seem bare (especially pears) but there's more hiding up high! Only marking down because the cashier overcharged me. We got 1lb of pre picked and 13lbs of u pick, we were charged the 1.50 pre picked price for everything. She told us pears were more and that is why even though the lady that introduced us told us to feel free to mix as they're the same price as well as the website saying the same.

Stopped in while driving the Hood River Fruit Loop. Parked by the orchard to see what the farm stand had to offer. Not much of a variety available for purchase. Maybe more to offer when picking yourself?! We bought some raw alfalfa honey (yum), donut peaches (not my fave), apricots and dried cinnamon apples (yum). The owner was super friendly. We ended up walking down to see Carlos the steer. It was a pretty dusty walk in the dirt, but worth it! Carlos is friendly and super cute! The view of the mountain behind the sunflower garden is gorgeous! They also have a kids play area with tractors. Overall a nice experience. May stop here again in the fall to see if there are more offerings at the farm stand.

When fruit is available, this is where I shop! Fantastic variety of fresh apples and pears and in the Fall, their cider doughnuts are a must! Even though I know better, I buy a dozen with the intent of sharing, but often eat my fair share! As the name suggests, the view is spectacular! With Mt. Hood, snow capped, standing tall and proud behind the orchard, it's a snapshot worthy of a calendar! In the Spring when the big cherry trees are in bloom, the vibrant pink petals agains a brilliant blue sky is stunning. When the cherries are available, I buy a huge bag. So sweet and delicious. Summer brings fields of dahlias for picking! And for snapping pictures! Even an amateur photographer can't take a bad picture with this type of scenery. This is a family orchard with a playground available for the kids. They even have toy John Deer tractors! And pick up trucks. Adorable. Everyone who works here is warm and welcoming. This is a must visit when you are enjoying the fruit loop. First stop at Grateful Vineyards next door, owned by the same family, and enjoy a flight of wine, hard cider and pizza. Then stroll down to the orchard to pick up fruit and fruit products to take home. Check the website for when they are open since it's obviously seasonal depending on the harvests.

My friends and I wanted to visit the Hood River Fruit Loop and go apple picking. We ended up at Mountain View Orchards. The orchard was beautiful! There was a small field with sunflowers, a little pumpkin patch, beautiful flowers you can cut and pay for by the stem, trees with a variety of apples, pears, and plums, and a breathtaking view of Mt. Hood. We visited on a sunny, Autumn day, so it was rather busy. We picked our own apples and pears. Although labeled at the end of each row, it became confusing once you were down in the orchard amongst many trees to know what kind of fruit you were picking. After we were done picking fruit, we decided to go to the restaurant. We were asked if we had reservations. No, we did not, but there were numerous empty tables. We were told we could order pizza and eat outside. We had a pear pizza and a pepperoni pizza. Both were delicious. I went back in the restaurant to use the restroom. The tables were still pretty empty. It kind of seemed like the staff was trying to push people to eat outside. Overall, Mt. View Orchards is a lovely place to visit, and the apples and pears were probably the best I've ever tasted. We will definitely make apple picking here a Fall tradition!

This was on our list of must visit while road tripping through Oregon. We got our fill of various kinds of fresh apples and pears. We had to try their famous cider doughnuts which were to die for. I should have bought a dozen. The orchard is absolutely gorgeous especially with the snow capped picturesque view of Mt Hood in the background. We couldn't get enough of the beauty of this orchard. This is a photographers dream sight. We already have plans to visit in late summer to enjoy their harvests and the sunflower fields. One more thing.... everyone who we met that worked here was just a delight and so very helpful. Was a highlight of our trip!!!!

I can't recommend Mt. View Orchards and it's many brand enough. This local family have managed to maintain an orchard, build a wedding venue, and start a cidery, brewery, and winery all at the same time. Simply remarkable. The wedding venue alone is breathtaking. The fact that they branched out and built multiple businesses on site is astounding and the way they've maintained local quality is impressive. This is a must-visit and if you're considering a wedding in Hood River, Mt. View Orchards should be at the top of your list.

Very rude woman behind the counter. Too many lovely places to waste time at a place with rude service. Too bad, pizza looked decent.

This is a third generation farm - their grandparents immigrated from Japan in the early 1900s. It's almost 300 acres and they've got apples, pears, peaches, cherries, berries, and probably more. The farmstand is open July through November. They've got a pick your own/U-pick options. They specialize in growing over 150 different varieties of apples, pears, cherries, and stone fruit. Their website is pretty up-to-date on which fruit are available at any given time. I really enjoyed stopping into the marketplace for a wide selection of pre-picked fruits, some of which had samples available. They were priced by weight and I was very pleased with the cost in the end ($12 for so many apples!).

They have wagon rides, a big fort for kids, an apple variety tasting, and dozens & dozens of apples and pear varieties for sale. We filled up a box of cosmic crisps to take home, plus loaded up on a bunch of jugs of honey for the year - 3 lbs for $24 is a great deal. I also walked through the orchard and loved that they labeled all the rows of trees so you can see all the many varieties. They had apple cider and apples with caramel sauce as samples while waiting in line. While I'm disappointed that the apple tasting still costs as much as last year, the experience is otherwise great and I'll be back.

Haha. cherrie and berrie picking and eating are one of summers delights! Montavons Berries is further up north in the Fruit Loop, #19, and in the same area as Grateful Vineyards and Mt. Pick fruit at Montavons and Mt. view Orchards then have a pizza and hard cider, beer or wine on a picnic table at Grateful Vineyards. Mt. hood stands proud as the backdrop at all three places. The first crop to arrive are the cherries and they have several varieties. Bing are the most common and I love them so I always buy several pounds. Have to also get the golden and sweet Ranier cherries, too. And if they have the Sandra Rose, you must try! They have a darker glossier skin, red black in color, and are the sweetest of them all! As the season continues they have several types of blueberries and Willamette raspberries. Both delicious and easy to pick. The fields are layed out on flat land with plenty of space between rows. It is very sunny so wear a sun hat or cap and definitely put on that sunscreen. you will thank me. This is one of the smaller family run farms which is always my preference. Everyone is so nice and helpful. As soon as June comes around, I visit their website daily to see when the first of the cherries are ready to pick! And I pick and eat my fill! Til next year...

I know there are a ton of great farms and orchards in Oregon, so I started my explorations here. I'd read that they have a mean marionberry shake. When I got there, I saw that, for a dollar more, they also had huckleberry. I'm not sure if I've ever tried huckleberry, so I wasn't sure if I would even like it as much as marionberry, which is my favorite. So I picked marionberry, and it was bomb. Although it was on the expensive side for $8.99, it was pretty good. I also purchased a marionberry peach turnover for $5, and thought that was just okay. I loved their selection of high end jams and syrups. They have so many artisan products that would make great mother's day gifts. The girl who helped me was really friendly and made my milkshake right away. She gave me a free map of the Fruit Loop, which is Oregon's chain of fruit orchards with gift shops. Can't wait to explore more of those.

We didn't bother with the goat feed as the goats weren't feeling particularly social anyway, but it was nice to walk around and sip our cider. The bad: - Cider was overpriced. $10 for a little 12oz cup. A pint at a bar costs less. You're really paying for the Fruit Loop experience, I guess. - Purchase required to go outside and even see the goats and the yard. The rest of the farm is entirely inaccessible. Seems like a money grab. It's great if you have cash to burn and want to take the kids for an atmospheric fall trip, I guess. I found it kind of ridiculous.
