Pearl's Place is a nice stop along the Hood River Fruit Loop, with a straw bale maze for kids, a food cart making huge crepes both savory and sweet, a sweet little gift shop, and fresh fruit, pumpkins & winter squash to purchase. We picked a gorgeous PNW fall day to visit and it did not disappoint! The strawberry patch still had berries to pick as well as lots of apples in the orchard. Very pleasant place to hang out for a bit with a crepe and a cider.

Great place to pick some apples. I picked some fujis today that are so sweet and crisp. They had pumpkins and strawberries available to pick as well. Nice kid friendly spot. There was a small playground and a large swing to enjoy.

This is a great place to stop for fresh fruit from the farm. Absolutely loved being able to pick strawberries , and enjoyed an apple cider. They have a U-Pick herb garden that has cilantro, rosemary and basil to name a few. Very kid friendly . The orchard is beautiful. Must see! Mahalo again !

Pearl's Place is the perfect first stop on the Hood River Fruit Loop. It's a five hundred acre family run farm. The fruit stand is small but has all of the essentials...fruit, jams, eggs, milk, nuts, syrups, jellies, and gifts. They grow apples, peaches, pears, cherries, pumpkins, squash and more. My daughter and I enjoyed picking apples. The weather was beautiful and the apple orchard is well maintained. The trees were vibrant.

Cute little roadside place to stop well on the fruit loop... Didn't have a ton of ripe stone fruit at the time so it was something to bring home not to munch on in the parking lot... Cute property for a Quickstop not much going on here normal prices

Even though we didn't pick our own, having the parking lot surrounded by an orchard makes for great shopping

We made an October fruit buying trip to the Hood River area, and Pearl's turned out to be a wonderful source for pears. We got a case of them for a very reasonable price, and after a few days of eating them one or two at a time, they all ripened perfectly for an extended canning session. We did not go with the U-Pick option, but having their retail location in the middle of their orchards really enhanced the experience. So, the price was right, the fruit was splendid, and we know where to return to when this year's supply of canned pears runs out.

Stopped here as a tour we heard about for farms in Hood River. It was really neat! Definitely would like to come back here the next time we visit as we tried to do all the farms in one day and it was a bit rushed! Definitely something that should be done over 2 days in order to enjoy it all!

If it's not safe i'd rather someone just tell me. This kid wrote down "celiac" 3 different times acted like he understood what celiac was and the precautions. I think received my sandwich and asked if it was the gluten free bread, he looks at me like that was the craziest thing to ask. Takes it back comes back out with the gluten free bread on the same plate and told me to change the bread off the sandwich which is not at all how celiac works. He then took it back a third time after i asked for a refund and told me it was gluten free but it was the same bread as the first time. I know this review won't help everyone but hopefully it'll help someone. I saw a few other people with celiac said it was safe and i'm glad they had a good experience. But I got incredibly sick and it's insane to me that they didn't just tell me no. Will now be sick for 3 days so thanks.

I'm not making that mistake again! Dickey's is so worth the stop! Inside is so large and spacious. Lots of bins of fresh produce based on what's in season. Plus all your produce staples like onions, potatoes, various salad greens, broccoli, spinach, shallots, lemons, limes, green onions, sweet peppers, hot peppers and more. Many of their their products are jarred for sale. They have several types of jams from local farms. Get the red-sour cherry and the marionberry! Oh, and the fig jam, so good with prosciutto on pizza or a crostini. They have lots of Dickey's pickled veggies, too: beans, garlic, asparagus, carrots, giardena. And so many salsas with various fruit. Don't forget to pick up a jar of local. honey - they have all sizes and the prices can't be beat. Very nice selection of local wines, too! Some of their other customers told me to buy a frozen fruit pie, raving about how they taste homemade. I was tempted, but I wasn't heading straight home so I'll make a special trip for that when I'm entertaining or invited to dinner. They were out of fresh eggs, but I'm glad to know they carry them for when my egg dealer is out. Yes, that's what I call her! LOL. Once you start cooking with fresh eggs, there is no going back. They also have lots of pet and farm animal supplies, perennials and house plants. Plenty of parking out front, make Dickey's a stop anytime you are passing through Bingen on Hwy 14.

Rosauer's is the most upscale supermarket in Hood River. I love their selection of products…read more The price tags are slightly on the higher side for certain items, but are more or less comparable with Safeway, overall. Their bakery, deli, and pastries are slightly better than the competition, and their natural/health food section is much more modern/comprehensive. From the bakery, I recently had one of their "Persian" donuts, which was basically a frosted cinnamon roll, and it was really good. This afternoon, I ordered a custom sandwich from their deli, and it was amazing. While this wasn't the very best grocery store sandwich I've ever had in my life, it was probably one of the top five. I ordered Black Forest Ham and Swiss on Sourdough with chipotle ranch (instead of mayo) and all the veggies except jalapenos. The customer service was phenomenal. I thought it was kind of weird to stand there and order my sandwich verbally while the clerk took notes like a waitress (management, if you're reading this, please consider putting out sandwich order forms for customers to fill out, like a normal deli), but she did such a great job. She was really sweet, too. When I opened up my sandwich wrapper, I saw a whole rainbow of vegetables, which was exactly what I wanted. I should have taken a picture-- it was a very Instagrammable sandwich-- but I was so hungry and exhausted (it's been a rough few days), I just devoured it like a ravenous feral beast. Everything was as fresh and delicious as could be, and the sandwich was so big I could barely finish it. Definitely top tier for a grocery store deli. I've also stopped by several times now for a few small items at a time, and have had all great experiences. I think I may have encountered some expired chocolate my first trip here, but that turned out to be a fluke, and hasn't happened again since. All things considered, this is my favorite grocery store in the area.

A decade since my first review, and 8 years of shopping here regularly... I give the staff a lot of…read morekudos for being friendly, helpful, recognizing customers, etc. The "Huckleberrys" section has a decent selection of organic or specialty items. You definitely have to watch prices very carefully in a number of ways. The regular price at Rosauers will often be substantially higher than Safeway, particularly if Safeway has a special. For instance, Califia non-dairy milks are often $4.49 at Safeway, and today were $7.49 at Rosauers. Sale prices at Rosauers can make things more competitive. BUT... you HAVE to watch the prices as you're scanning or ringing up on your own. I now take a photo of the shelf tags on anything with a sale price. Otherwise, I'd say between 30% & 50% of the time, the price in their system hasn't been updated to reflect their shelf tag price. Even losing $1 or $2 a week on the failure to match system price with a discount price adds up. The bad part of even taking the photo is that if you didn't notice but then checked as you were ready to leave means you have to go wait in the customer service line, show your receipt, phone photos, and item, get it written up, and then get your $ back. So take the photos, watch as it's scanned, and call someone over as soon as you see the wrong price appearing. If you shop there once a week and save $2/week by catching their tagging mistakes, that's over $100 saved a year. It holds true in produce as well. ALSO ... watch carefully for which shelf tag refers to what item. They don't always get them correct, so you may see a tag that says $5.99 for an item, but it's referring to the item ABOVE your item (which is $8.99 instead). Caveat emptor is the reigning motto at Rosauers!
