Pearl's Place is a six minute drive out of Hood River. It is a five generation family farm that offers apple/pear/peach/cherry/plum picking, seasonal berries, pumpkin patches, a cornhole league, Christmas trees, and more. It is a great option for U-Pick, especially for kids, and they are dog-friendly (on leash of course). Speaking of kid-friendly, they have a little playground and a straw bale maze. There are great photo opportunities and wonderful views of Mt Adams on a clear day. Their farm stand features all the locally made goodies you could want, and there is a resident cat. Don't skip the Gorge Glacier - apple cider slush, caramel, vanilla soft serve, and whipped cream. Easy parking, lot on gravel. Portapotty only. read more

Pearl's Place is a cute little fruit stand in Hood River. They had various fruits and other food items for sale. The had the option for u-pick as well. We browsed the stand and opted to get a Black Mamba Watermelon, Pluerries, and Peaches. Their card machine was down so they were only accepting Venmo and cash. The sign for this wasn't visible until we got to the register. They should have had a sign near the entrance, so people are aware before shopping. read more

I've wanted to go on the "Fruit Loop" for quite some time and finally did it. This was our first stop. We already had this planned when my mom unexpectedly gave us a bunch of apples. I'm sure had that not happened we would have picked at least a couple for ourselves. They did have fresh fruit in the store along with a lot of delicious packaged items. I could have gone crazy here but since it was my first stop I refrained. I should have bought whatever I wanted because this place had so much more going on then other places. There's stuff to entertain the kids and lots of fun outdoor spaces. They offer seasonal treats and beverages that are really wonderful. My takeaway from this visit is that this is one of the few places I would stop at out here. They have a lot to offer and we can't wait to bring our young niece out here sometime. This is a definite must stop. read more

Hood River is an apple cider lover's paradise. Many of the numerous farms along the 'Fruit Loop' (a 35 mile scenic loop along highway 35 and highway 281) serve cider, but Pearl's Place sets themselves apart with apple cider slushies. The apple cider slushie can be ordered on its own, or as part of a Gorge Glacier. A Gorge Glacier is a cup filled halfway with vanilla soft serve, then filled the rest of the way with apple cider slushie, then topped with whipped cream and caramel. It's currently available for $6 for 12 ounces or $8 for 20 ounces. I ordered the twelve ounce, and thought it was pretty good. Very interesting, although not something I necessarily see myself craving. The vanilla soft serve was top notch, as was the cider slush. I just didn't love them together as much as I think I would love them apart. I think this beverage could be even better if the cup were lined with caramel drizzle so that you can get bites of caramel and apple together. Maybe they should consider offering this as an upsell. Extra caramel for fifty cents or something. The farm stand itself is one of the smallest in the fruit loop. They sell some fresh fruits, jams, and chips, but the shop is mostly empty. They had a lot of flavors of fruit chips I'd never seen before, such as blackberry and pear. It seems like most people come here to pick fresh fruit or enjoy the Gorge Glacier. There is often a line of people out to the door waiting to order one of these treats. The farm looks beautiful to walk around. I love the old wooden fruit crates turned into parking lot decor. A list of fruits currently available to pick is available on their website as well as on a board outside the shop. Customer service is great. I was actually surprised how quickly she put my drink together, and it looked very Instagrammable (although I failed to snap a picture). I definitely see myself coming back, but next time I would order the apple cider slushie with caramel drizzle (sans soft serve and whipped cream). read more

Pearl's Place is a nice stop along the Hood River Fruit Loop, with a straw bale maze for kids, a food cart making huge crepes both savory and sweet, a sweet little gift shop, and fresh fruit, pumpkins & winter squash to purchase. We picked a gorgeous PNW fall day to visit and it did not disappoint! The strawberry patch still had berries to pick as well as lots of apples in the orchard. Charming fruit stand close to Hood River, the perfect first stop on your Fruit Loop adventure! When you pull off Hwy 35 into their driveway continue to the large parking area surrounded by pear orchards. The fruit stand awaits, flanked with the biggest and most beautiful hanging flower baskets that are also for sale. In addition to u-pick fruit, you can buy already packaged fresh fruit in the stand. Fruit changes with the season - several types of delicious cherries, peaches, pears, apples - so stop in frequently throughout the season! Prices are exceptional even if you purchase the packaged fruit. Local cherries were just $2.00 a pound. They also had Rainer cherries for a bit more and they are worth it! They have lots of other canned and bottled products, all local. Fresh fruit jam like marionberry, raspberry, habanero huckleberry (divine,) pear ginger (yes!) and even cherry Zinfandel - love! They have chocolate covered hazelnuts and blueberries and other nuts. Juanitas tortilla chips - the absolute best, their factory is located just down the road. Canned peaches. Apple pancake mix. Fresh lavender. Apple chips. Even chocolate milk and some juices in the refrigerator case. If you need a beautiful woven basket for all your goodies, pick one up here and support the woman in Ghana. I use mine weekly at the farmer's market. read more

This is a great place to stop for fresh fruit from the farm. Absolutely loved being able to pick strawberries , and enjoyed an apple cider. The fruit stand is small but has all of the essentials...fruit, jams, eggs, milk, nuts, syrups, jellies, and gifts. They grow apples, peaches, pears, cherries, pumpkins, squash and more. We made an October fruit buying trip to the Hood River area, and Pearl's turned out to be a wonderful source for pears. We got a case of them for a very reasonable price, and after a few days of eating them one or two at a time, they all ripened perfectly for an extended canning session. We did not go with the U-Pick option, but having their retail location in the middle of their orchards really enhanced the experience. So, the price was right, the fruit was splendid, and we know where to return to when this year's supply of canned pears runs out. read more

A sweet start to our thirty five mile journey along the Fruit Loop. In fact, while at Pearl's Place, they gave us a map of the route and helped give us some more insight on the area (thank you!). This small and sweet farm stand features dried fruits (made using their fruit), fresh fruit, unique jam flavors like pear ginger, local chocolate milk and blueberry and apple pancake mixes. We ended up picking up some dried fruit for our road trip back home. If we were closer to home, I would have been tempted by their lush floral hanging baskets. They were loaded with blooms! A few of our other favorite stops along the Fruit Loop Trail included the Hood River Lavender Farm, The Gorge White House Fruit Stand and Winery, and the Old Truck Antique Shop. We picked up the fruit loop brochure which highlighted your business. So my wife and I (visiting from Arizona) decided to drive out to the Hood River location. 42 miles one way to find a sign saying "closed open tomorrow at 9:00 am" - the problem is the the brochure made clear you were open daily 9 - 5! We came across Pearl's Place, a fruit stand, on the way to see Mt. Hood. When we stopped, the first thing that we saw were the Rainier cherries, and for half the price we pay for them in Dallas! We were in absolute heaven. A pound and a half of three different types of cherries later, we were absolutely thrilled... and we snacked on them the rest of the afternoon. I think that was $4.50 well spent. Pearl's Place has a beautiful pear orchard, which I'd never seen before, as you drive through to the "fruit stand". The service was a tinge slow, but they were a little busy that day. I would definitely like to go out there again just to buy more cherries! P.S.
