The prices were very fair, especially considering the high quality of everything. We tried a few different things, but the brisket breakfast sandwich was absolutely next-level--tender, flavorful, and just the right amount of indulgent. We're still thinking about it! Everyone we interacted with was incredibly friendly and kind--several vendors even offered water for our puppy, which was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel even more at home. If you're in Hood River on a market day, don't miss this! Great food, great people, and an awesome way to support local.

Third generation, family owned and operated. Tamiyasu Orchards grows outstanding organic peaches, plums, apricots, blueberries, apples, cherries (both sweet and tart), and seedless table grapes. Impressive backstory. In1906 Gunichi Tamiyasu, eighteen years old, left his farming family in Hiroshima, Japan, to board a ship bound for San Francisco. He made his way from California to Oregon, laying track for the railroad, then fell in love with the beauty of Hood River and leased some land and began his orchards. In 1941 after the outbreak of WWII he and his family were taken from their home and forcibly relocated and interned. After the war ended the family returned to Hood River to find their orchards overgrown, their equipment stolen, and every window in their house smashed. Slowly but surely the Tamiyasu family worked their way back. Quality products. Some of the very best fruit available at the PSU Farmers Market.

What a delightful stop along the fruit loop in Hood River. Just down from Packers Orchards (see my…read morereview) and on the way to Odell is this gem is just off to the left if your heading toward Odell - can't miss the big red barn. We stopped in and immediately were greeted by a friendly teenager who offered us slices from their freshly picked peaches. Sublime. There were a lot of peaches and cherries to choose as well as soap, homemade crafts, used books (all sales are donated to the local animal shelter - bonus!), honey sticks, honey in the bear, clothes and lots of other treasures. One of the owners, Lisa, was there and we engaged in a lively conversation. It was a great time. And I gladly spent at Cody Orchards because I believe supporting local businesses is what makes Oregon great. Sure, you can go to Fred Meyer and buy a peach but you have no idea if it came from Mexico, California or Ecuador. Buy directly from a local orchard or farm and you KNOW it's locally grown. No brainer. Visit them this summer and enjoy knowing your dollars feed local economy while you feed your body healthy and sustainable fruit. You'll be glad you did.

The gift shop has dried flowers hanging from the ceiling, home decor items, gifts, and other things that make it a charming little stop on the Hood River Fruit Loop. The young woman at the register was friendly and helpful. [Pear Bloom has a new location (as of a couple of years ago) and it didn't show up in Yelp. I contacted the Yelp team with an update and it is now correctly shown. I wondered why there hadn't been any reviews since 2023!]

If nothing else it's nice to come check out their "Secret Garden" that is just a quiet spot with some seats around and lots of gorgeous flowers to enjoy. I only took a few pics because I could have taken a ton there was so much variety.
