I try to avoid the big online shops so I did a good search for florist in Hickory and found Lanez. The online ordering process was easy and I made notes about the colors my Mom liked. The arrangement was ordered from avasflowers.com (which is supposed to serve the Hickory area) come to find out they are an online broker and outsource to local florists. Ok, no big deal. Except, the arrangement was supposed to be warm reds, oranges and greens. What showed up was hot pink, dark purple, and light purple, most of which were some kind of daisy looking flower that weren't very pretty, or costly looking, and could have been picked in a field. Let me add that the arrangement called for roses and carnations. When my friend called, from England, he asked that the carnations be switched out but the color scheme be kept exactly the same. "She is hard to please" . Met with a "No problem at all". How is purple and pink anything like warm oranges, reds, and greens? I don't even know where to start with helping him figure this out. I told him to just forget it , I appreciated the thought, but this is the third local florist that has done sub par work. He can't exactly go in and pick out flowers for a pick me up when I'm ill. Good thing my teenage daughter likes pink and purple and daisies. Otherwise they would be in the trash.
