On Thursday, July 3, I brought in six pairs of pants to be hemmed. I was leaving for six weeks on the afternoon of Monday, July 7, but the proprietor assured me that the job would be done by Saturday. It was not done by Saturday, and if memory serves, the store was actually closed on Saturday. Fortunately there was time to return on Monday before my afternoon flight, so I returned on Monday but the job was still not complete. I informed the proprietor of my travel plans and she promised to keep the pants until I returned. When I returned to retrieve them today I was rudely informed that "you already picked them up." I did not. Mt. Vernon Cleaners lost them, sold them, or gave them to another customer. I'm out $120 for the cost of the pants plus six good pairs of pants. There was no attempt to apologize or make amends. Don't patronize this business. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Poor customer service, clothes aren't ready on time, and they're ridiculously expensive. They charged me $72 to hem and clean 3 pairs of pants and then charged me again when I went to pick it up. They refused to refund me even when proof was given that I was double charged. I am use to a very professional dry cleaner in my high rise in Chicago. Pong tops my Chicago dry cleaner. Shirts are immaculately finished. I've gone to Mt Vernon Cleaners for both dry cleaning and alterations. As a vertically challenged individual, I've had to get almost all of my pants altered. I think the owner (or whoever she outsources the hemmings to) did a fine job with my pant alterations. I thought that it could have been a bit better for some of them in terms of precision and fit but I thought they did a good enough job. Granted, I've had so many of them hemmed that one or two funky alterations did not bother me too much. They also gave me some discounts on my order since I was altering a lot of pants at the same time. Overall, I think that their dry cleaning is pricy but I really enjoy interacting with the owner as she is super sweet! read more

It's a little pricier than I'm used to ($4.95 for a blouse, $6.50 for a jacket, etc.), but on Tuesdays and Thursdays you can get three items dry-cleaned for the price of two. I also had a shirt fixed after I ripped it down the front for $20, which didn't seem so bad. I've been impressed so far with their ability to get out stains in my clothes that I was ready to donate or throw away. There was a discrepancy one time when the owner couldn't find the receipt proving I had already paid for my clothes when I dropped them off. For some reason the receipts had the wrong date on them, so be sure to hold on to your copy of the receipt. Friendly service, quality work, and proximity will keep me coming back. read more

I went here for the first time, but I won't be going back. The woman at the counter was nice, but they made mistakes that a cleaner shouldn't make. I dropped off 2 shirts and a pair of pants. When I was asked if I would like a crease in my pants, I said no thanks. When I got my clothes back, they had given me the wrong pair of pants. I was in need of a quick dry cleaning for my 2 piece suit and also needed the sleeves of my jacket to be shortened. I came in on a Friday and was greetly with a smile and friendly service. The owner was a sweet Korean lady who measured my sleeves and where it should be. I paid a total of $39 I think for dry cleaning and alterations. I needed it ASAP and as promised I had my cleaned and altered suit the following Thursday afternoon. It fit amazingly! I rocked the suit to a friend's wedding the next day and it felt like a brand new suit. I highly recommend this place. I took two coats here for dry cleaning. One of them had broken seams in the lining that I've been meaning to sew; I didn't ask for them to be fixed, but when I picked my coats up, the broken seam had been sewed up for me. Um I recently had a stain taken out of a shirt. Unfortunately when I got there, there was still a stain. (Did the staff really not check this before handing my defective item that I ALREADY PAID FOR back to me?!) So they are re-doing the removal. Okay... but why didn't you get this right the first time?... So I made an special trip there, hoping to take back the shirt. But seriously?! Why didn't you call me to tell me ahead of time? Seriously. Unprofessional. Also they are proudly the FIRST dry cleaners ever to shrink my suits. Fantastic. I've been to oh 5-7 dry cleaners in the area, and I have never ever had a suit shrunken. Until now. Also parking is very difficult. You have to walk, or stressfully park in the "No Stopping Anytime--will be towed area." (Wait, am I not supposed to park there? Ha ha.) I was lured in by the 3 for 2. The quality was excellent. I just brought in a blazer that I had custom made in Asia that wasn't hanging right. Rather than charging me for an expensive rehemming, the owner was able to dry clean and press and all was good. I was in a rush and decided to stop by Mt Vernon Cleaners instead of driving across town to my usual tailor. I get the suit home and notice when she shortened the sleeves she did not put a button back on my jacket. She just left it off and the hem done on the pants doesn't match what she charges. The hem looks like what I usually get done at local cleaners. My usual tailor is pretty expensive; however, Mt Vernon Cleaners was about $20 more expensive and their work is reasonably better. read more

Good place - kind, consider service and one of the only places around with next day pick up (as long as you drop it off before a certain time - I call ahead to ask for the latest drop off time when I need next day).
