On Thursday, July 3, I brought in six pairs of pants to be hemmed. I was leaving for six weeks on the afternoon of Monday, July 7, but the proprietor assured me that the job would be done by Saturday. It was not done by Saturday, and if memory serves, the store was actually closed on Saturday. Fortunately there was time to return on Monday before my afternoon flight, so I returned on Monday but the job was still not complete. I informed the proprietor of my travel plans and she promised to keep the pants until I returned. When I returned to retrieve them today I was rudely informed that "you already picked them up." I did not. Mt. Vernon Cleaners lost them, sold them, or gave them to another customer. I'm out $120 for the cost of the pants plus six good pairs of pants. There was no attempt to apologize or make amends. Don't patronize this business. read more

Have been a regular now for many years. The owner is great. Fast. Great work on cleaning and repair of clothes. Upgraded to five stars!!!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Poor customer service, clothes aren't ready on time, and they're ridiculously expensive. They charged me $72 to hem and clean 3 pairs of pants and then charged me again when I went to pick it up. They refused to refund me even when proof was given that I was double charged. Never going there again. read more

They don't honor their stated opening hours or promised "ready" dates. After years using them, I'm done.

I almost don't want folks to know about Mt. Vernon Cleaners. Pong, as in pingpong, her words is so great to work with. I am staying in a nearby AirBnB. I have weekly dry cleaning. I am use to a very professional dry cleaner in my high rise in Chicago. Pong tops my Chicago dry cleaner. Shirts are immaculately finished. She even clips the sleeves in front to avoid sleeve wrinkles. See the picture. Slacks have a crisp crease. Specials on Tuesday and Thursday. Thanks Pong! read more

Paid for alterations that were not done correctly, came back to have them fixed, and was refused. Would not fix the items and would not refund our money. read more

I've gone to Mt Vernon Cleaners for both dry cleaning and alterations. As a vertically challenged individual, I've had to get almost all of my pants altered. I think the owner (or whoever she outsources the hemmings to) did a fine job with my pant alterations. I thought that it could have been a bit better for some of them in terms of precision and fit but I thought they did a good enough job. Granted, I've had so many of them hemmed that one or two funky alterations did not bother me too much. They also gave me some discounts on my order since I was altering a lot of pants at the same time. Overall, I think that their dry cleaning is pricy but I really enjoy interacting with the owner as she is super sweet! read more

It's a little pricier than I'm used to ($4.95 for a blouse, $6.50 for a jacket, etc.), but on Tuesdays and Thursdays you can get three items dry-cleaned for the price of two. I also had a shirt fixed after I ripped it down the front for $20, which didn't seem so bad. I've been impressed so far with their ability to get out stains in my clothes that I was ready to donate or throw away. There was a discrepancy one time when the owner couldn't find the receipt proving I had already paid for my clothes when I dropped them off. For some reason the receipts had the wrong date on them, so be sure to hold on to your copy of the receipt. Friendly service, quality work, and proximity will keep me coming back. read more

Came here to get some dress shirts and a suit cleaned. This place was fast and efficient, needed my suit rushed and they got it done! Thank you! read more

I am really happy with how my clothes came out! I got three items cleaned and all three altered. Fantastic job redoing my coats lining they were all old, ripped and needed to desperately get fixed. Now my coats all look brand new. I had a sweater - vintage 70's brought back to life with a fantastic sew job. I couldn't believe my eyes! All of my clothes look great. Will be coming back! read more

I went here for the first time, but I won't be going back. The woman at the counter was nice, but they made mistakes that a cleaner shouldn't make. I dropped off 2 shirts and a pair of pants. When I was asked if I would like a crease in my pants, I said no thanks. When I got my clothes back, they had given me the wrong pair of pants. I went back in, and I was told that they had indeed made a mistake and I could pick up my pants later. When I went back for my pants, they had a crease in them. read more

Just picked up my first order, and the service from beginning to end was top notch. Same woman behind the counter both times, and she was funny, nice, and helpful on pick up and drop off. She acquiesced to letting me count the items before leaving, given it was a large order, and my first (and everything was there). The clothing all appears to be perfectly pressed. Prices are consistent with typical dry cleaning/laundry charges. I will definitely return. read more

I moved to the area a couple months ago and was looking for a cleaners close by. I drove by one day and saw the "3 for 2" sign and decided to give them a try. My shirts weren't ready when I came to pick them up, but the lady was very nice and said they would be in a hour. I didn't make it back to the next day and my shirts were ready and looked great! I'll definitely be back again. read more

I was in need of a quick dry cleaning for my 2 piece suit and also needed the sleeves of my jacket to be shortened. I came in on a Friday and was greetly with a smile and friendly service. The owner was a sweet Korean lady who measured my sleeves and where it should be. I paid a total of $39 I think for dry cleaning and alterations. I needed it ASAP and as promised I had my cleaned and altered suit the following Thursday afternoon. It fit amazingly! I rocked the suit to a friend's wedding the next day and it felt like a brand new suit. I highly recommend this place. It may be a little more expensive than other places but I think its worth it. read more

Friendly and convenient, but find someplace else for alterations. $50 to take in waist and leg, now my pants have two weird puffed out darts on my touchas and are still baggy. For that price I expected a custom fit. read more

I took two coats here for dry cleaning. One of them had broken seams in the lining that I've been meaning to sew; I didn't ask for them to be fixed, but when I picked my coats up, the broken seam had been sewed up for me. It was very kind of them to do that for me and I'm happy with the way my coats came back too. read more

Um I recently had a stain taken out of a shirt. Unfortunately when I got there, there was still a stain. (Did the staff really not check this before handing my defective item that I ALREADY PAID FOR back to me?!) So they are re-doing the removal. Okay... but why didn't you get this right the first time?... So I made an special trip there, hoping to take back the shirt. But seriously?! Why didn't you call me to tell me ahead of time? Seriously. Unprofessional. Also they are proudly the FIRST dry cleaners ever to shrink my suits. Fantastic. I've been to oh 5-7 dry cleaners in the area, and I have never ever had a suit shrunken. Until now. Also parking is very difficult. You have to walk, or stressfully park in the "No Stopping Anytime--will be towed area." (Wait, am I not supposed to park there? Ha ha.) I want to like this place as it is so conveniently located. But seriously? No. Absolutely not. I want to like this place because I like supporting fellow minorities businesses in the area. But no, I can't. Dude my suits are expensive and I CANNOT have them ruined by incompetent cleaners. (Come to think of it, I should have complained to them and asked for a refund when I first found out.) NO. NO. NO. Stay away. I'm usually not picky with dry cleaners and I ALREADY HAVE given them a second chance, but no. Sorry, but no. read more

I was lured in by the 3 for 2. The quality was excellent. I just brought in a blazer that I had custom made in Asia that wasn't hanging right. Rather than charging me for an expensive rehemming, the owner was able to dry clean and press and all was good. While the owner can be a little quirky, she knows what she is doing and cares about the quality of her work. read more

This business lost a very expensive shirt that I recently purchased. I wore it once, and my first time dry cleaning it, it was lost. Totally shady! I'm not done...... read more

These cleaners have lost my items. They also told me they were not able to remove a stain. I went elsewhere and the stain was removed easily. read more

Alterations are the best in town, wedding dresses etc. Never ever had a problem, always great service.

I have been a part of the Mt Vernon Community for just over a year and have found Mt Vernon Cleaners to be courteous and to give good results. They are my go to cleaners. I disagree with Jessica K, I think if the owner made an honest mistake I should make it square, and I expect to be asked to leave if I behave like a petulant child. If you treat people like they are part of your community, you will get the same treatment in return. read more

I was in a rush and decided to stop by Mt Vernon Cleaners instead of driving across town to my usual tailor. I get the suit home and notice when she shortened the sleeves she did not put a button back on my jacket. She just left it off and the hem done on the pants doesn't match what she charges. The hem looks like what I usually get done at local cleaners. My usual tailor is pretty expensive; however, Mt Vernon Cleaners was about $20 more expensive and their work is reasonably better. read more

I have used Mt Vernon Cleaners several times without difficulty, but today the woman I am assuming is the owner/manager made a mistake on the original receipt, and expected me to make up the difference. I said I should not have to pay for her mistake, and we had to argue about the difference. She then told me she did not want my business. It was all very unprofessional, over a few dollars, that was the business's mistake. I will not be returning. Very unprofessional. read more

Had a strapless bridesmaid dress (with boning and a train) taken in and shortened here 2 years ago. I walked in, the dress was pinched and pinned, and I came back a week later to a garment that fit perfectly. I will always go back here as long as I live near Baltimore! read more

This place is great. They are quick and friendly, especially when I am in a hurry. They have made exceptions for me when I need something in a hurry and they are fast anyways. I have already recommended them to several people and would recommend them to anyone in need of Dry Cleaning!! read more

Good place - kind, consider service and one of the only places around with next day pick up (as long as you drop it off before a certain time - I call ahead to ask for the latest drop off time when I need next day). They also have a 3 for the price of 2 piece deal on Tuesdays and Thursdays I believe. read more

Had a dress hemmed here - they did a good job but it cost $65. Brought another dress and they told me the same cost. Went down the street and they charged me $18 for the same thing! Seems overpriced. read more

Mt. Vernon Cleaners are fabulous! I go there once, sometimes twice a week. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. The cleaning service is excellent and they get things done timely.
