As an LGBT family, we did have a bullying episode by a classsmate. We brought it up to his coach, Thaydon. Thaydon discreetly, immediately handled the situation with the family and the activity has ceased. We felt very supported and are very happy these things are taken seriously. Thaydon has shown to be very interactive and caring with all the students. Our kiddo routinely attends open gym and parents night out activities Saturday evenings. He loves his time at Pacific Reign and we love that we get a night out since we have no family here. Overall, very happy we found Pacific Reign highly recommended it for all.

From the beginning, Beatrix fell in love with Gymnastics Connection. She has been doing gymnastics since she was 3, but all she remembers now is the Gymnastics Connection. She loves the open gyms, the instruction (cried when we couldn't afford two lessons a week, so I applied for scholarships), and she loves the coaches. After the spring showcase last year, she said she wanted to be a gymnast when she grew up. If I have obligations before or after class, Beatrix is able to sit with them an extra few minutes with a snack until I wade through traffic to get there. Above and beyond, one of the best experiences we have had in Seattle. From front desk (Stephanie Kyla) to Coach Maddy, Coach Megs, Coach Monica... stellar experience. They never turned their noses up to us when the credit card didn't go through. They made us feel like Beatrix belonged there as much as the other kids who don't need scholarships or second, third, fourth credit cards. We love you. We thank you. I wish I could give you guys so much more, but right now, all I can say is you made a positive difference in our lives. Thank you!

During hanging and obstacle exercises, there were moments when children needed help but no coach was nearby to assist or spot them safely. For a ninja-style program involving climbing, swinging, and elevated obstacles, consistent supervision and equal attention to all children should be a basic expectation. What was also disappointing was the lack of concern or follow-up when we chose to withdraw. No one asked why we were leaving or seemed interested in understanding our experience, which left us with the impression that parent feedback and individual student experiences were not being taken very seriously. For parents considering this program, I would recommend paying close attention not only to the facility itself, but also to how consistently all children are supervised, guided, and included during class.

On the other hand, it was disappointing that parents weren't allowed anywhere near the kids on the floor with them. They had an upstairs area where the parents were required to stay up there, well, that might be fine for the older kids, but I had a toddler down there, and I would feel much better being closer to her down there. But they wouldn't allow it. Also, at one point we were upstairs during the actual party time, and I went downstairs to use the restroom and was hit with a very suspicious "What do you need?", I told them that I needed to use the restroom, and it felt very weird to not even be able to walk downstairs to use the bathroom without prying eyes. I think that it was overall a fun party place, the kids enjoyed it, but they need to be less aggressive about parents not being allowed down there. And also maybe have exceptions for younger kids.

We've only been going to Gymagine for a few months now, but it has made a big impression. For my 8-year-old, it has been an opportunity to learn new skills from instructors who seem to really pay attention and are happy to help them try over and over again until they get it. She has made huge strides in her abilities and in her confidence. For my 5-year-old, it has been just plain fun. She connected with the instructors immediately and spends much of class not only doing gymnastics but sharing stories about her day. Even with all of her chatter, she is fully engaged in what they are learning. For my husband and me, it is a comfortable space to watch our kids have a great time and grow stronger. Plus, they have strong wifi and tons of power outlets. And there's just something about the people there. It feels so positive, and I appreciate that team tryouts are open - that's my first experience at a gym that does that. My daughter, also did not learn anything new, was more advanced than the others so she was also bored. SO MUCH DOWN TIME. Coaches have no plans, teenagers are running the front desk, no adult supervision, they messed up our schedules not once but five times. The gym is dirty, old equipment, coaches don't start on time, no safety training when kids get hurt (several friends of ours have gotten hurt with no follow up safety), management does not care, late or no answer on messages, phone calls, texts. The lady who is "in charge" during drop in play has terrible attitude even towards my kids. I came here a few times and I can even say that she is racist, which is terrible and unacceptable. She is only nice to white kids and especially those who are enrolled in their regular classes. Too bad this place does not have much competition around the area.
