The rose canyon cabin was perfect for celebrating a quiet birthday weekend. Gorgeous views off the porch and the cabin was perfectly stocked with everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. The dog dishes were a perfect touch and our puppy Buddy felt right at home once we put his bed down on the living room carpet. Omg these cabins are the cutest thing ever! I will preface this review by saying that I did not do the booking or pick it out, I was just invited along. But boy am I glad I was, This was the perfect weekend getaway! We had four people in our cabin. There was a queen bed and a bunkbed situation with a queen bed on the bottom. I think they are all situated a little differently. We saw someone else's cabin that had a queen bed and a couch with a pullout option. But both of the cabins I saw had a great kitchenette area with a full fridge stove microwave/ sink / lots of cabinet space/ basic necessities for dishware and such. We had a great bathroom with a nice shower, two sinks and a toilet space( with its own door, very important lol) . We had a charming front porch with several seat seats and a little table. I will say that the parking seems first come first serve (so no assigned spots) whether you park behind the cabin or on the street in front of it, but I never had a problem getting a parking spot. The electronic lock was easy to use. There was a binder with all relevant information. We had a TV and I think the best thing was a little electric fireplace that we could sleep with at night that had a nice glow coming from it. It looks like each of the unit units is also equipped with a ceiling fan and a midi split AC unit. I would definitely recommend these for groups of people, families or even a couple just looking to get away from the heat of Tucson. Very charming little getaway , easy to walk to other things in town located basically in the center of it all. 10 out of 10 would stay here again on my next trip to Mount Lemmon. Truly a hidden gem in the city of Tucson. My partner and I wanted to find a place dark and cold for our cozy night under the stars and we found Mt Lemmon hotel after a brisk search. From the moment of booking all the way through checking out- it was easy and stress free. Everything is done online/through the phone. If you ever have any questions- someone was always there to answer through text. Super neat. The cabin itself was beautiful. It was equipped with everything you may possibly need. If you forget to bring anything, there's always the general store down the street. My only complaint was that my coffee mugs in the cabinet (they provided) were dirty with old coffee rings. I switched to the ones in the back and they were clean. Again not a big deal but considering you pay for a cleaning fee, they should all be clean. If you are sensitive to the light when sleeping, keep in mind their AC system monitor mounted to the wall is a bit bright and cannot be turned off. Everything else you could manage to turn off, cover, or pull the plug out (plugged in night lights). Will definitely come back for a longer stay next time and recommend to anyone looking for an escape from the city to the mountains! read more

In a nutshell Spent over $500.00 for a weekend stay. Their events are more important than their guests. No where to go except our room since everything was off limits for a private event. We went to the evening program at the Mt Lemmon observatory and instead of driving down the mountain at 10:30 at night stayed here. The porch was peaceful, studio was modern and roomy, bathroom modern, it was all clean. We stayed in cabin 11 with handicapped people, it had 5 steps and handicapped parking at the entrance. Cabin 10 would be good too if you have handicapped people, it has two steps. The family loved it. I wish we got to the town a little earlier to poke around more. We stayed for 3 days/2nights with our dogs. We we enjoyed everything about the cabins!! They were clean, cozy, and well stocked with paper goods, kitchen utensils, cookware, plates, cups, and cleaning supplies. They provided food and water bowls for our dogs which was very thoughtful. Parking was easy, the porch was a great place to relax and enjoy evenings and early mornings. We will definitely return!! read more

The cabins are super cute. There are a few things I am going to critique. It was not very clean. The bathroom vanity was dirty upon arrival and had hair stuck on it. Some of the dishes were not clean. There was a green plastic mixing bowl that had an oil residue left over inside. I didn't use it. The cookie sheets were heavily coated with oil as if never washed. I didn't use because they were aluminum so I didn't even bother to use those. The pots and pans were teflon and the coating was peeling off. Avoided those too! The handles were broken. The plastic serving spoon was melted by someone and had bubbles from being melted from the heat. There was food stuck in the container that the utensils were in. There was no prepping utensil, ie peelers or prepping knives that could cut a carrot. The knives were a joke! I almost cut my finger off trying to prepare dinner because they were so dull and could not even cut a tiny red potato in 1/4 pieces. Luckily there was a glass baking dish we used to cook with. We could not use the tv for over 24hrs until someone brought us batteries. The remote was dead. No one was available that evening when we checked in. We didn't even use the drinking glasses because they looked so nasty! I tried to wash two so we could but it didn't help. We just used our travel mugs. I pre-washed the dishes prior to using them. The one cutting board is a mess and needs replaced. IMO replace it with a wooden cutting board. Not plastic! When we cleaned out the refrigerator I took the crisper drawer out and there was a ton of water sitting under the drawer. I know it wasn't from us, it was a lot of water! It took two towels to dry soak it up. Also put food froze in the fridge and it wasn't even on a cold temperature it was set on a normal refrigerator temperature. Something is just wrong with it would be our guess. The lighting - the canned lights need to be on a dimmer!!!! When you're sitting in bed reading or watching a show and your husband/wife/significant other goes into the "kitchen" and turns any lights on you're blinded! Put a dimmer on the lights. Wouldn't take much to throw a dimmer on those lights. The broom was for the size of a 2yo and looked like it was from the dollar store. No wonder the floors felt dirty. I could feel dirt on the floor, glad I brought my slippers. I'm a barefoot walker but couldn't hear. My feet got so dirty! There was only one table on one side in the bed. Upgrade the door locks. Our door kept jamming. Thankfully someone reset the code from what it originally was set to. The doggie area; Its all rock. Throw some artificial grass down for the dogs so they can go there and lay and sit in the area. It would be less maintenance than what's there, it's all weeds and rocks! We are spending money to have a dog friendly place to stay with our furbabies why can't they have a nice place to chill? They can't lay on the deck because there are no gates to keep them up on the patio. The cabin numbers are on the inside of the patio. So many people walking by would ask us how they can tell what cabin number each one is because they are looking for someone. Whose idea was this to not put the cabin number visible to the street?? I know there's a map but not everyone has access to it. Put the numbers on the pole facing the street not facing the door. Not everything is open on Monday a Tuesdays. Didn't know this. The coffee cabin was not open until after 11am we walked over at 7 & 8 and they were not open. So if you're planning to rent a cabin here's what to do. Bring your own things; Paper plates Utensils Cooking utensils Hand soap Cutting board Knives Baking dish Pots & pans Silverware (the ones there ) Being parchment paper to line their cookie sheet if you plan to cook dinners Bring disinfectant wipes So basically I wish I had packed like I do when I go camping. Other than those things we still enjoyed ourselves. We did notice place are not open on Monday and Tuesday according to a worker in another place. Don't plan to go anywhere at night there isn't anyplace. The only restaurant up there closes at 4pm! What a joke! So I guess that is all. read more

We rent a cabin every winter here to take the dogs to the snow. Cutest, easy cabins. They also do discounts for nurses which is awesome! The customer service is easy to text and responsive. Highly recommend!! Only thing I'd change would be a gate or option to close off the front patio so the dogs can lounge on it with us without any worry. We were surprised that you can't park your car in the front of the cablin and take your luggage in that way . . . instead, we had to park very far from the cabin and then haul everything up a hill. It wasn't a pleasant experience. Aside from the parking mess, the evening was fine as all the kitchen equipment worked fine and the host was responsive when there were questions. Unfortunately, we didn't sleep well as they had sheets that were too small for the bed and that wouldn't stay tucked in. It's so surprising to find a property that has ten cent linens on a bed in such a nice cabin. I think I'd think twice before staying here again. read more

The hotel is beautiful, and welcomed addition to Mt. Lemmon! The owner who is hands on is friendly as is her entire staff. The restaurant serves good food under the branding of Beyond Bread, the place gets busy so be prepared for a wait to get your food. The lobby is comfortable & inviting, especially when the fireplace is going. The large outdoor covered porch area is great when the temperature is not too cold. The gift shop has many cute gift ideas and one of a kind finds and is definitely worth checking out! There needs to be closer parking available, preferably in the hotel parking garage to eliminate the challenge of finding a parking spot during the busy times and winter weather but regardless it's worth the effort! read more

We just returned from a short two days at Mt. Lemmon and stayed in a cabin at Mt. Lemmon Hotel. The cabins are perfectly located near all of the shops and restaurants in Summerhaven with an easy walk to the Cookie (and pizza) Cabin, Saw Mill Restaurant, and directly across the street from the General Store. Also the cabins are close to several trail heads including Mint Springs that we thoroughly enjoyed. The cabins are a short drive to the Ski Valley and Iron Door restaurant where they are having their annual Oktoberfest. The interior of the cabin was very clean and had all of the amenities that you need for a stay longer than what we booked. The cabin has a full kitchen which you will need if you are "an early bird " as the shops and restaurants don't open early but close as early as 4:00 PM so you might need to prepare a few meals yourself. The cabins have everything you will need to cover meal prep. The bathroom and shower are also very accommodating and clean. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and chatting with the neighbors from the adjacent cabin. Summerhaven was a nice getaway from the Tucson heat and the Mt. Lemmon Hotel is a very nice place to stay while in Summerhaven. read more

My husband and I went up to mt lemmon hotel for a little staycation with our 2 dogs. We had a great time. The cabin was nice and clean. We loved the kitchen and grill in front of our cabin. The little dog run was convenient for my dogs because they prefer not to be on leashes for the bathroom. You have to go down some steps and around the front porch to get to the dog run but it did the job. We will definitely stay there again! read more

This hotel is a true gem in Summerhaven on Mt Lemmon. Don't let the word hotel fool you...this is far from the big box hotel with hallways of rooms. Individual knotty pine decor cabins offer cozy privacy and a true mountain feel experience. The pet friendly cabins have a private fenced area for each unit. The full kitchen is well appointed and the keyless entry is smooth and efficient. We received a text when our room was ready for check-in....3 HOURS ahead of the 3:00pm time!!! Cabin 5 was perfect for our 4 adult overnight stay on Mt Lemmon. The parking behind the hotel is so convenient and the location is perfect in Summerhaven. The cabin is so charming, once we checked in, none of us wanted to leave. The kitchen has everything needed to cook full meals. The shower is inviting and vanity area is roomy. Private commode is a bonus. Comfy bed and soft, warm bedding. So much storage so there's no clutter. My favorite part was sitting on the rocking chair on the front porch with a nice warm cup of coffee watching the sunrise with the soft wind bristling thru the gorgeous aspens. The Mt. Lemmon Hotel is finally open and taking reservations! Stayed here overnight and had a very pleasant stay. The casita-style cabins were very cozy and comfortable each with a private bathroom, kitchen, fridge, TV, couch, heating/AC, and queen bed. It's very conveniently located within walking distance of the general store, Sawmill Restaurant, the cookie cabin, Marshall Gulch and plenty other hiking trails. It is a really great alternative form of lodging especially if you want to be in a "home away from home" instead of a tent, they even have pet-friendly cabins! My only complaint if anything, is that the bed is a little too firm and might not be the most comfortable for people who have back problems but other than that it was a great staycation spot and def worth coming back to for future lodging up in Mt. We come up with our dogs and it is idyllic. The cabins are modern, clean, spacious and entirely finished in knotty pine walls with fun north woods decor. My husband is a city guy so he feels at home with the modern kitchen, Wi-Fi and lovely bathroom/shower. I am woodsy and love the gas fireplace on cool mornings and the front porch to rock and enjoy the wind through the pine trees. The hiking trails and flowing streams are wonderful and you can even get anything you need at the general store right nearby. A nice getaway on Mt. Lemmon turned into an unpleasant time due to the ownership of the Mt. Lemmon Hotel. At more than $215 per night with fees, we were expecting a relaxing getaway in a nice setting. The disappointment started when we got a text about 3 hours before check-in that we were being moved to a different cabin than the one we reserved. This was disappointing because the cabins offer different accommodations and some are pet friendly. We arrived just after 3 to check in and found three people inside the cabin cleaning it. I said we were here to check in, and they said they were running behind due to rain and it would be at least 15 more minutes. We go back to the car and try calling the hotel. There's just a recording and not even a voicemail option. Then, we texted the number that informed us of the cabin change and asked for a solution. They told us they could extend our checkout time by an hour. We told them this wasn't acceptable as we needed to leave the next day by 10 a.m anyway. While in the cabin, we also noticed the one we were moved to has bunk beds instead of the couch in the one we booked. We're a childless couple and would much prefer a couch. 25 minutes later, our cabin was ready. We walked up to check in and got another text saying the fridge in our new cabin wasn't working. We had brought perishable food for dinner and breakfast, as the restaurants close by 5 p.m. and don't open until 10:30 a.m. on weekdays. Management offered reimbursement for ice from the general store, but at that point it was pouring rain, the store was closing soon, and a couple of bags of ice wouldn't be enough to keep eggs and meat fresh. We texted back and asked for a call back. One positive is that the representative on the phone, Stephanie, was very apologetic and professional. We were given a full refund and went back home that evening. Based on this experience, I will not stay at this "hotel" again and will not recommend it to friends and family. Having management on site and a working phone number would make a big difference. read more
