Awesome gym! This mountain oasis is prepared to cool down any summer day with a both an indoor and outdoor pool. Wait there is more .. not only do they have water slides and an incredible jacuzzi but great trainers and staff who keep you motivated and push you through progress. Easiest to find hidden gem off highway 26. Awesome recommends from Kevin and Megan at the front counter on weekends. You do a great job of customer service keep it up. read more

I along with many others are honestly extremely disappointed with this establishment recently as you fail to provide basic necessities such as resistance bands or proper attachments for machines. We pay more for this gym than others near combined and shouldn't have to spend almost $20 extra for something that should be provided by a gym. On top of this nearly everyday there is something going on in base camp that should be hosted in one of the yoga rooms, base camp is very popular and should be accesible for ALL paying members when they want to use it. read more

I chose this gym because I thought the price would make it more of an adult setting and not a bunch of teens and screaming kids, but I was wrong. They cater to the kids and dues paying, working adults come secondary. They sell you on all the amenities like pool and spa, but fail to tell you that If you work a job like most adults you will never be able to use the pool or spa without screaming kids or groups of teens playing grab ass, the no diving or horseplay is never enforced. Think they set aside time for hardworking, paying adults to swim in peace, nope think again Mon-Fri 12pm to 7pm is family time and when they run their second business of paid swim lessons. That's right you pay your dues so they can charge others extra for swim lessons during peak after work hours. So as a working person you can not swim laps or avoid screaming kids jumping in the spa. Oh, but if you want to come in at the crack of dawn or right at closing time you can swim laps, pretty hard to do if you work a regular job. They also do a horrible job keeping kids off the machines which will be your only option since the pool is off limits while you are there. And if it's volleyball season they rent out the racquetball courts to high school teams to practice. Avoid at all costs, and it's an expensive one, if you want to workout or relax in peace as this is a afterschool hangout and they are all on their phones sitting on machines, even kids on phones in the spa watching videos and no one ever comes thru to police anybody. read more

Great gym and decent prices for what all you get. After visiting gyms in other towns and other states, I really appreciate Mt Hood.

I was at a dance. I bought a strawberry slash (a drink they have) They charged me double the price. Then I bought some red vines and they charged me 3 time the price. I even confronted them many times and they kept saying I was wrong. When I tried to leave with my legal guardian they kept bugging us and saying "is that your mom" And kept saying it. Also before that when I left the dance floor to get some of the red vines for my first time two women kept bugging me and saying "why are you leaving?" And "where are you going?" And "What are you doing?" read more

They could be a 5 star gym based on the atmosphere in there, but the fact that they are over crowded and staff attitude can be snarky at times, keeps them down. The pool time is so packed with classes that its hard to get in there and just swim laps, unless you love getting up with the chickens or quitting your job to hit the mid afternoon opening. When there is no class, the pool can still become quite crowded and I have seen, more than once a line start waiting for a shower. There are 8 shower stalls. During the summer when they open the second pool, I found three other people who agreed with me and one told me she had quit, due to the crowding in the pool and came back that day on a friends pass. We thought they should cover the outdoor pool in the winter and let it just be a lap pool, possibly. The machines can get a line for them at peak times and my son who played basketball with a group of friends there, found that they were being bumped for volleyball teams renting the courts out. He quit and went to Bally's. It was becoming a hassle to schedule around the crowds and circle the parking lot for a space. The building has a physical therapist who uses the gym too. The personal trainers are very sweet and great to work with, though. read more

Awesome spot. They have pool, dry and wet sauna, whirlpool, childcare, lots of cardio equip, basketball court, tons of other specific rooms. Smoothie bar was cool. Only negative would be that there is only one squat rack. I went and got a day pass for $20 bucks, on a Sunday, so there was hardly anyone in there, so I didnt have to wait for the rack. But if I lived here, Id probably join up. Saunas amd squat racks are most important to me :) read more

I'm puzzled that YELP only posts the nasty reviews. I go to this gym 6 days a week and haven't experienced any of the negativity some of the reviewers claim. Staff is friendly, machines in working order, and a variety of classes. Not sure what these people expect. A gym can't survive on $10 membership fees and free babysitting for your 5 kids for very long. read more

I love MHAC! My daughter goes to the kids club and always has a fun time. The club is always clean, inviting and friendly. I love the staff and I love the members. Not an awkward place to work out, hang out or work on yourself. We love the indoor pool and the outdoor pool is such a fun time in the summer. I would give 5 stars if the kids club had more extended hours. With my work schedule I can't make the am-pm hours, would LOVE the option for mid day as it would allow me to use the gym more often. read more

Love this place. The classes are fun, and the schedule is pretty diverse. I go during the day and it's never too crowded. The only thing I would change is the price and hours of the daycare. The hours for daycare are $2/hour for toddler and up. When we were looking at gyms, Cascade offered a daycare punch card and if you spent $20/month the daycare was unlimited (with a limit of 2 hours at one time). That ALMOST got us to sign up, in fact, if they were a bit closer (we live in Sandy) we probably would have. Also, the hours of daycare are a pretty small window, but we still manage to make it work. Overall, the staff is friendly, the place is clean and I really enjoy the group exercise schedules. read more

Glad we joined! We were looking for a new athletic club and we have found a great one close to our home. I love to play racquetball and my fiance has recently started training for a marathon. Last weekend the owner of the club put on a racquetball mixer to introduce new members (or members new to the game) to the racquetball club veterans. It was great to meet other members with the same interests as me and see the different skill levels. The childcare here has also been great. Far cheaper than the athletic club we were used to and much more for the children to do. They also have a "tween" room, where the children who are still too young to workout and too old to play with dolls and toys can head. They have video games, computers, TVs and other activities that our 10 year old daughter really appreciates. We came in 2 weeks ago on a 3-day pass and joined after the first visit. The staff was great and made us feel right at home immediately! read more

Nice club. I was visiting from out of town and needed to get in my lifts. $20 drop in fee. They only have one squat rack, but its a good one. Hammer strength power rack. 2.5 lb plates if you need them. I didn't like their barbells. Standard club bars. Too thick and non-standard knurling marks. nice place for what I needed. read more

I just became a new member. and I have not seen any crowding problems. But I am retired, so I come in around 11 AM . I see lots of room and open equipment. Staff seems OK I don't expect them to hoover around and ask if everything is good. My monthly rate for over 60 is $35 a month. My friend in inner east side Portland gym pays $80, but he's only 52 years old. My back finally feels better than it has in years. I highly recommend physical conditioning. read more

Good little gym in an area without many options. Recently renovated basketball area, but pretty small weight room. Dumbbells up to 120lbs was surprising. Equipment was piece-marked together so I'm sure much of it was purchased along the way. $20 dollars was a bit steep for a day pass considering the quality, but I was one of 8 people there on a Sunday morning around 9am. Thought it was comical their juice bar served pizza and nachos. read more

Completely overpriced! Charging extra for childcare while I'm paying $50/person is outrageous. The staff is not impressive. When we moved to Sandy we asked if they competed with other gym membership prices (most gyms do, especially to get you to transfer). They literally laughed in my face. I understand that they're the only gym in Sandy, but your prices, attitude and services aren't worth what you're selling. We work in Troutdale so we pay $10 at Crunch gym for unlimited classes and use of everything (without those pesky little towel charges and other random fees). We leave the kids at the daycare for an extra hour so we can workout. Still, it would be nice to workout on Saturdays or Sundays. read more

Cardio is nice but weight room is way too small, only one squat rack ?! Sauna doesn't work in the mornings either, supposedly it's on a timer and no one can get it fixed, lame. Also, bought the tanning package and only have been able to use it once since they have a bed that's out of service so their one bed is always taken/reserved. $22 a month for tanning and you have to wait 40+ mins to use it! Come on guys! Get that thing fixed!!! read more

The club and the courts are always clean, the weight rooom is big, and the staff are nice people.

I joined just last week and am very impressed. Everything is clean, especially the locker room (One reason for leaving our gym in Portland)!! The front desk is very friendly and a special thanks to Trysten who greets us by name and makes us feel at home. Another thanks to the girls in the daycare for being lifesavers! read more

After being a members for over 3 years we have cancelled our membership. We are not going to allow the owed and staff to treat our family rudely anymore. We have given them many chances over this last 3 years but there has been no inprovment in fact it has gotten worst. read more

Extremely overpriced. Management totally unresponsive to comments. Class selection and schedule are poor. Machines are not maintained. Staff lacks purpose. There is no water fountain above 2 feet off the ground, I guess for ADA. Sanitizer dispensers have not been refilled in years. Fees increase regularly irregardless of what you signed up for. Do not join. read more

A five star and this gym is "As Good as it Gets" . . . they provide something for everyone . . . inside/outside pools, weight/machine area, basketball court, racquetball, many classes, personal trainers for all ages/conditions, etc. Very clean, friendly as you want it to be (you can socialize or not) and convenient hours. I would have to really dig to find something I do not like . . and what would be the purpose of that!! Thumbs up!!!! read more

I was disappointed that the owner and employees would not even discuss the option for other insurance company partial payments. Employees also have to "talk to manager" regarding information that is written in their own brochure. Summer use for vacationing visitor package is only available if you sign them up for 3 months. My visitors do not stay that long. If there was another option besides driving to Gresham, I would take it. read more

I really like this gym! You really have to experience it for yourself here. The gym isn't that bad as people say. It's perfect for me because I live in boring, so I can easily head up to sandy to the gym and head to MHCC right after. The staff is always nice, friendly, and always helpful. It also depends on the time you head over to the gym, on how many people are there. I go in the mornings so there is less people, but as the day progresses the more the people. If you live out in the sandy/boring or any place near. You should check out this gym!! :) read more

I have a long way to go to get back to physical fitness. it's always been awkward to go to a club because I have become such huge overweight. but the staff made me feel at ease and like I can't do this. They made me feel welcomed and comfortable coming into the doors. I am so excited to be part of this club. I will write back after I reach my goals. read more

It's 4th of July and I would love to stop by the gym and workout when I het off work. However I've called and can't get a real person to answer. And the website is vague at best. Are they open? I live In eagle creek and work 2 jobs so my time is precious. I don't want to drive out there to have it be closed. Also I hate how early they close. :( read more

I've been a member at several great gyms in my lifetime and Mt. Hood Athletic Club ranks right up there! My husband and I have been members for several years and I never have troubles finding an open cardio machine, most with their own TVs, the salt water swimming pool is rarely crowded, the aqua fit class was great when I was pregnant, I love the sauna and steam room, and now my 2 year old and 2 month old go to the daycare. I don't mind the day care fee and feel it is a great deal for a safe environment with very friendly attendants -- it's much cheaper than a babysitter and the monthly family rates are already very low. I referred a friend and my parents will likely join soon. I am excited to start taking more classes (all free except for outside instructor sponsored martial arts class I think) and my friend loves the yoga classes. I've read the other reviews and disagree with a lot of their comments from my observations. I think the only time I've seen it really crowded in there is during racquetball or basketball events - mostly high school - and I think it's great they do so much to promote youth fitness! This does not affect the workout equipment availability. My only suggestion would be to have more family swim hours during the weekdays, though I totally understand it's a balancing issue with lap, class, family and open swim. I appreciate all the upgrades and improvements the owners always seem to be making (so excited about the big outdoor pool area this summer!), and it is very apparent that they care a lot about the members and facilities. My husband and I are looking forward to trying out some personal training! read more

The gym looks large from the outside but is limited in usable space on the inside. They have a limited number of machines and floor workout space. I would love to use the balls but space availability isn't there. I have to do my situps and stretches in a hallway by the racketball courts. Not very comfortable. I would also love to take a zumba class but the times don't fit into my schedule. They need to expand their weekend classes. They are also quite expensive. The positives to the gym are the people that go. It is a very diverse group and does not feel like a pick up joint. I can work out with local people who are there to work out. I absolutely love that about this gym. read more

We had our daughter's birthday party here this past February and it was perfect. Having small kids I've been to my share of birthday parties and unlike some other venues that host kid's parties this room was clean and ready when we got there. Laura took care of us from the beginning all the way through till after everyone had left. She (and some other staff) helped us set up our decorations and got the room ready. Laura was also there the entire time to help keep the kids entertained and play some organized games - the kids really loved her. The bouncy house was a big hit as well and was worth having for our little ones - we'll definitely be having that one again. There were some other fun options that we may consider as the kids get older as well. Overall I can't say enough nice things about the club and how they handled our event. read more
